The Official POTW Nominations Thread!

My recommendation is to give another award to W35 for his brilliant ( hidden but obvious) analysis why Afridi should be the captain :)

the post where fawad alam was recoomendated for captaincy? :))) :)))

Check my post on the "can a pakistani like t20 league be successful in uae" thread. (I hate to brag but no one else seems to be suggesting anything)

I don't nominate that guy, he'd be level with me otherwise. :sachin

The stats are FALSE in that thread...as he did not list series win vs India in India.. in 1987.

The guy does not even mention ANYTHING about 1992 World Cup while talking about Imran's captaincy..... and you call this "balanced" analysis?
Wow!!!!

You are one "balanced" Misbah fan! :)

Why don't you take your objections to the original thread? I think this one is for POTW nominations.

And it's not like you have never posted wrong and out-of-context stats ever. But you can post your objections there I believe.

My comments belonged in this thread... as I said, the post was totally false and pathetic... because the information was incorrect and WC 1992 was not mentioned...therefore it should not be nominated as POTW.

How come you did not reply to my comments about Top Top post?

Mentioning 1992 WC still doesn't change the facts written in that post. It was a quality piece of writing and a balanced one, evaluating both captains as neutrally as possible and in a good way.

Everyone here knows your hate regarding Misbah and the lengths you would go to discredit his achievements. It's natural you don't agree to this post and never will agree to any post highlighting achievements and character of Misbah.

Include all missed points you want, still doesn't make the post bad, certainly not "PATHETIC" as you're calling it out of your hatred for an honorable Pakistani captain. Now nominate your own post for POTW if you want, but don't call quality material as pathetic.

Now write whatever you want here, I ain't replying and the post that deserved POTW has been nominated by me and upto mods to decide.

To be honest, I have to agree with W63L35 here. Comparing Imran's captaincy with player x's captaincy and then not mentioning the '92 WC win (which is the best thing that happened to Pakistan cricket ever since it began) is cringeworthy. It's the best thing Pakistan cricket has ever achieved. Surely, the comparison cannot be neutral and balanced if such a feat is not mentioned.

Just my two cents.

Lol W63 has 5 POTWs and is still raining over someone else's parade. Dude likes to be in the spotlight. :afridi

So you think, you (or anybody) can evaluate Imran Khan's captaincy without mentioning 1992 World Cup?? If yes... then :14: :14:

What if I said this.....by borrowing your words;
Everyone here knows your blind-love regarding Misbah and the lengths you would go to discredit Imran Khan's achievements. It's natural you don't agree to this post and never will agree to any post highlighting achievements and character of Imran Khan....including 1992 World Cup

Two points:
1) My post was NOT directed at Misbah.... it was directed at the writer of the post.
All I said was... that "he left Indian series win of 1987 out" and "He did not mention 1992 WC".
How does that disrespect Misbah?

2) I do not hate Misbah. I want him to stay in Test team - but not as a captain.

Jaao. mai bhi nahi bolta tum se! :P

My admiration for W63L35 keeps increasing day by day. He is like that daughter-in-law who not only lives in a joint family system, but in a family of nine sisters and six brothers, coupled with the father-in-law too who has more wives, all plotting against her from different angles with different agendas.

You totally forgot to mention more than one abusive and wife-beater husbands!!! ;-)

There is no competition this week, MMHS in Shobby thread.

Nobody in current PAK team understands the batting concepts of LOs better than Malik. In last 15 years, probably only 2 batsmen batted better than Malik at prime in middle order for PAK. World Cup Final or street match, one has to know how to play at No. 4 or 5 & how to build innings if the overs are counted. Malik knows how to build the LO innings, pace up & finish. May be he isn't good enough now for Internationals (I don't know, haven't seen him recently), but, he can "teach" the PAK middle order players how to play in middle overs.

I feel, most people has wrong concept of AUS wickets. These are beautiful batting wickets, were never a mine field. AUS wickets are fast with good & even bounce, balls come here with perfectly even pace & bounce. Any batsman, if set 'll enjoy batting on those wickets. At the same time, if bowlers with pace & swing bents their back or spinners give it a bit flight, they 'll get wickets. Only type of batsmen who 'll suffer in AUS are those who builds on grinding bowlers & the medium pacers - you can't play defensive cricket in AUS. Even in 70s, 80s or 90s those wickets were great for cricket, but those days, Aussie grounds were BIG (one has to send the ball into crowd to hit a six & the grounds were large for Aussie rules football) & the outfields were not that fast, which made the matches at least 10-15% low scoring then say subcontinent or WI. Even in late 70s, Viv Richards scored at a SR of almost 100 in AUS. NZ wickets are very good batting tracks, if they don't keep grass (they won't during WC), these are smallest grounds on earth, unless some grass is left on the track, potential 700 runs match.

Be it AUS/NZ - a No. 4/5 batsman has to rotate strike, build partnership & accelerate later, which Malik is very good at. Even in BD wickets, against BD or Afghanistan - every PAK batsmen showed only 2 mode.........Bang or Ops!!!!!!! Even on mine fields, I back Malik to rotate strike, because he believes in that & looks for singles, which not many does in PAK. PAK has 2 matches at Adelaide & 2 major match in NZ - Malik 'll out perform Misbah, YK, Asad or even Fawad if played at 5 on those tracks. If Hafeez doesn't bowl, any given day I 'll take Malik.

I am not sure, how clean is Malik's action oblate, but, if it's clear, he must go ahead of YK, Asad & Fawad. Ideally should be ahead of Hafeez the batsman as well, but somehow PAK THICK TANK is convinced that Hafeez can play only as a batsman & spell bound to open with him. Malik gets undue criticism in PP for politics & lack of integrity, but had he been coming from Lahore/Karachi, I am sure the wind would have blown opposite direction. I think, it was too much for the "elites" in PAK that a Sialkot boy at 24 'll lead the side - but in reality, Malik is far, far better LO Captain than any of whom PCB tried in last 15 years, barring Butt.

Mamoon's post on Afridi. Nearly brought tears to my eyes. Truly the end of an era.

The Square Drive post mentioned in this thread comes in second.

I will say TalentSpotterPk deserve multiple POTW awards the way he share details of pakistan domestic cricket with us. His knowledge of current pakistan domestic is really good.

I would like to recommend this post by him for POTW award http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/s...rmance-Season-by-Season&p=8350707#post8350707

Yes, I agree. Quite sad to be honest. The politics here are even worse than the Oscars. Give TalentSpotterPk bhai a POTW for whichever of his current posts is the longest. Long overdue.

my budha buddy Nostalgic deserves like 100 POTW awards for his posts in time pass but he is given only 1 that too in 7 years :(

btw don't you think there should be a weekly troll award too :13:

Given the amount of quality posters we have, we should have an Hourly troll award.
