Not sure if the Pakistan cricket analyst is doing his job in the current team, couple of examples (that showed the dumbness or lack of know-how) to get the thread started:

1. Rajapaksa is one of the best players around against spin, he was fed full of spin from both sides when he arrived at the crease in Asia cup allowing him to fully settle

2. Bouncers to Stokes in the warm-up, seriously!? Stokes once of the best against bouncers, those couple of sixes in that over from Husnain changed the game dynamics.

Are Pakistan team analysts even reading the opposition these days, would be extremely surprised if they arent esp in the current age of smart technology?

Pakistan just came off the finals in Asia Cup and won NZ tri-series.

They just changed their middle order combination based on some kind of analysis which has so far brought them better results.

Some players are now performing far above their previous levels in batting and bowling. Babar's captaincy has also improved.

There will always be misses or players in the middle not playing according to plan. But we can't blanket say they are not doing their job right or are dumb.

I don't get why players need to reply on analysts at all.

Yes maybe the occasional piece of information, but do your job, do your own research and homework, don't rely on others to hold your hand.

Captain is to blame as well. Babar’s tactics leave a lot to be desired at times.

We lag behind very much on the strategy aspect of the game. Most of our players come from very poor background and very little education hence find it difficult to think critically.

The analysts can only do so much to present his/her findings to the coach and captain. In the end, it's up to the coach and captain to either take the advice or follow their own strategy.
