What do you make of him as a television pundit?

He was better on BBC in the WC I feel

I've been very impressed with the career he's had I feel he brings insights to the game that barring Neville and to some extent Carragher others just cannot offer.

Monaco have sacked manager Thierry Henry after 20 games in charge.

The Ligue 1 strugglers announced on Thursday he had been suspended, but BBC Sport understands that is merely procedural and that the France World Cup winner has already left the club.

Predecessor Leonardo Jardim is expected to replace Henry, just over three months after being fired himself.

The 2017 French champions are in the relegation zone after only five wins under Henry in all competitions.

Franck Passi, appointed as Henry's assistant on 20 December, will take training on Friday, the club said.

Passi has previously had spells as caretaker manager of Marseille and Lille.

Henry - who was hired in October - had apologised for using foul language to insult Strasbourg defender Kenny Lala during his side's 5-1 defeat on Saturday.

Arsenal's all-time leading scorer is in his first managerial role, having previously been Belgium assistant boss.

He had been on the shortlist for the Aston Villa manager's job in October before taking the job at the club where he started his playing career.

Analysis

French football journalist Julien Laurens on BBC Radio 5 live

This morning, sources at the club were telling everyone his job was safe. Tonight they announced that basically he will be sacked.

Two wins in 12 in the league is clearly not good enough. He insulted a Strasbourg player and there were arguments with some of the media.

Maybe the last straw was deciding to drop some of his first-team players into the reserves without mentioning it to the hierarchy at the club and I think that cost him his job eventually. That wasn't the way the club wanted him to behave. All that put together meant he would no longer be the manager.

Leonardo Jardim still lives in Monaco and sees the players in the street when he goes to the bakery. He's the favourite to replace Henry. He had amazing results, winning the league in 2017, before this season when things didn't go well for the team.

Moved to Atletico.

Henry really did take a tough job for his first venture. It might have ruined his managerial career. He should have taken the Villa job with less pressure and expectations. At least he can go back to Sky.

Thierry Henry has been appointed as the new head coach of MLS side Montreal Impact.

The 42-year-old, who spent four-and-a-half years with the New York Red Bulls before ending his career in 2014, has signed a two-year deal with the option for an extra 12 months.

After agreeing to the move, Henry said: "It's an honour to coach the Montreal Impact and return to MLS. It's a league I know well, in which I had some very nice moments.

"To be in Quebec, in Montreal, which has an enormous multicultural heritage, it's extraordinary. I've always kept an eye on the club and now I'm here."

Montreal president and CEO Kevin Gilmore said: "We are extremely happy to announce the nomination of this legend of the game.

"Henry will bring a new energy to our club. He shares our vision to elevate this club and will help us achieve our goals on and off the field.

"He is a competitor and a leader who has proven himself at the highest level throughout his career. He now brings these qualities with him to Montreal, a place he wants to be."

After retiring, Henry spent time coaching in Arsenal's academy and was an assistant to Roberto Martinez with Belgium.

He took his first steps into management with Monaco last season but won just four of his 20 matches in charge and was sacked after only three months.

Henry, who is the record goalscorer for Arsenal and France, will be presented to the media on Monday.

He will officially begin his role in January ahead of the start of the 2020 MLS season a month later.

He should try his hand at management. Could be a future Arsenal manager but not a replacement for Emery if he's sacked. One of the best EPL players ever.

He's the best player to have ever graced the PL.

TBH I dont like him as presenter or when he would give interviews after a game as a player.

He was my all time favouriate player. The moment the ball would go to him you could see the defenders would shake like chickens. The commentetors voice would have some excitement when the ball did come to him.

Anyone who has visited the Emirates will see a sign which said a fan gave all his kids a T name as their intials would read T. Airey :D

Welcome to the greatest city in the world Thierry Henry welcome to Montreal my city hope he does good things with impact
