If rains tomorrow then 4th T20 is also gone. Looks like a pond. MYK can go fishing here

Rain has almost stopped there is still hope. Very little.

Thats pretty poor drainage system in the stadium by the looks of it if there is any to start with. Yes it rained heavily but, that doesnt mean ground should convert into a mini dam. Lol

According to Audio comm - saying that water is completely gone!

But still raining.

I know the rain can happen anytime, but it's about time ICC start fining the home team for rain delays or matches getting abandoned due to rain. West Indies should face a fine for this farce. 5 match series reduced to 4 match series, and now it looks like we might only get one completed match. That is an absolute disgrace.

Thats good, just need rain to stop to have an inspection and a chance for resumption.

How stupid.

Getting better the situation but overs being lost

Rain stopped.
Still covers on the pitch.
Umpires will decide the inspection time later.

Couldn't care less if you think its stupid. I am sick of these rain delays ruining cricket. Sport of cricket is dying and one of the reasons are these stupid rain delays.

Seriously dude? Rain is nature. I get it you are bummed out and wanted to enjoy your Sunday but dude you can’t blame Mother Nature.

funnny how posters here will blames boards and icc for rain :))) what even

So, the umpires will have their chai, take a nap, and then decide an inspection time. By the time they go on to the pitch to inspect, it’ll probably start raining again.

Rain has stopped and it isn't a big problem..the issue is poor drainage system at the venue..

The problem is lets say they are somehow able to get game underway in one hour time they will still have to face rain later in afternoon.

Regarding discussion on rains. Few simple things can be done.

1. Giving more room for delays means not losing overs.
2. Cover full ground. So the moment rain stops you straight away start playing.

Srs. iCC can least make full ground cover mandatory so once rain stops game starts immidiatle.

90 min time bedore cut off clock is ticking..

Agreed. This is 21st century and they still haven't figured out ways to get over rain issue.

Just make it a 5 over a side game

I will tell you nothing will change unless its an important knockout match and India faces the bad side of it. Then Icc may do something

Thanks. Just stupid there is no rain for almost an hour and still no cricket. Wait for the ground to dry.

If it was England match would start shortly after the rain stopped due to their good drainage system. But look here in Guyana, half the time it's raining and half the times it takes in drying.

Another char by umpires in the middle. There is no rain currently so chat is possibly about the outfield’s condition.

Saw some.visuals, bright sun out everyone waiting few covers still on the ground slowly taken off. Start the damn game !

Update:

Covers are off.
Inspection going on.

Just call it off. A 5 over game is such a farce and this enrire charade is so much contement towards fan

Reason this sport might not make it to Olympics. As indoor or roof facilities are a must.

Absolutely no reason not to start this. Things look perfect. Badree is saying the same. Just delay it by 10 min but start

SO what if it's expensive? ICC have the freaking money.

?? Again you are being immature here.

Roofing is very expensive for stadiums. You will need a roof that opens for sun for the grass. Its really expensive and not iccs job to provide a roof every stadium.

Stadiums come under the cricket boards and no board will waste money on a roof that eill save them 1 rained out match out of 20

If the last match gets washed off this truly has to be a joke of a series.

Good decision. A wet pitch becomes unsafe and there was no poiint in taking any risks there

Poor stuff from the umpires

how do you know its a poor decision?

Umpires have to see whether the pitch will have uneven bounce and make it dangerous or not for the players

Cricket is freaking joke of a sport. I follow so many other sports, and cricket is the only sport where matches don't reach a conclusion, because of rain. In 2021, and matches are still being influenced by rain. What a joke of a sport. But of course, the bloody ICC won't do anything about it.

This farcical series can be called off WITH immediate effect ; with rain being Man of the Series

To be honest it has already been a joke of a series.

Three entire games lost out of 4 so far. Next T20 also looking very iffy weather, only completed game also had a rain delay.

Hope the tests don't get ruined too.

They covered the pitch straight away ?

Not just the pitch but also the outfield has to be safe. If it is too wet players can slip and injure themselves, ball also gets soaked which gets dangerous with fast bowlers.

So explain what the ICC should do, please.

Build new stadiums in every country with retractable roofs? How many stadiums per country? In which cities? How would they do this? Logistically, please explain this humungous project.

Yes, this is exactly what they should do. This is 2021, for God's sake.

Why can't the cover the whole ground? Why just cover the pitch?

Still long way away but, Kingston’s weather for the first test match isnt looking the best as well. Its a forecast and long way away so one can hope that test series doesn't get a lot of interruptions.

Rogers Center was completed in 1989 with a building cost of $570 Million.

If we take the inflation into account, it will cost around $1.25 BILLION to build such a stadium today.

The return on investment is quite gloomy. I don't think any business entity will be ready for this venture.

If it wasn't safe they should have said it half an hour before surely leaving it last minute states something

Rogers center is really unusual as it's very customizable. It has a lot of structural features most stadiums do not have. You could build an inflatable bubble roof pretty inexpensively, or a stretch roof hooked up to the stands.

Heavy rain spoiled the third T20I between West Indies and Pakistan, leaving the hosts needing a victory in the final match of the series to draw the campaign.

Only eight deliveries were possible on Sunday in Guyana, with the West Indies racing to 15/0 in that time. Andre Fletcher hit two sixes in his unbeaten 14 off six, with Chris Gayle making one off two.

Fletcher's second six, smashed back over the head of bowler Mohammad Wasim, came off the final ball of the innings, with a heavy downpour setting in.

The rain continued for the next hour and a half, after which there were hopes of a shortened match but that was ultimately not possible, with one part of the field still waterlogged.

It is the second match of the tour to have been washed out, with the series opener only seeing nine overs of play.

The two teams will next meet on Tuesday in the final T20I of the series, with Pakistan leading 1-0 after they took out the second T20I by seven runs.

Both sides will be hoping for kinder weather as they prepare for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 in October-November.

I think its the death overs where they prefer Rauf more than Hansain or Arshad. However, he will have to deliver better than he did against Eng.

I'm sorry i was done after his rubbish performance in the PSL. These types of pitches don't suit Rauf, if it's a pitch that offers bounce he'll do better i.e. South Africa, Australia and New Zealand other than that he shouldn't be played in my view.
