The Zodiac Z340 Cipher finally solved after 51 years

Maybe there are others who are interested in this like I am. One of the most exciting news of the year 2020! A code that has eluded the FBI and expert cryptographers for the past 51 years has apparently been broken after 51. The Z340 which was considered to be 'unbreakable' due to experts believing that there was actually no message in the 340 letters sent by the serial killer has apparently been broken by dedicated online sleuths. The code is apparently as followed:

"I HOPE YOU ARE HAVING LOTS OF FUN IN TRYING TO CATCH ME

THAT WASNT ME ON THE TV SHOW

WHICH BRINGS UP A POINT ABOUT ME

I AM NOT AFRAID OF THE GAS CHAMBER

BECAUSE IT WILL SEND ME TO PARADICE ALL THE SOONER

BECAUSE I NOW HAVE ENOUGH SLAVES TO WORK FOR ME

WHERE EVERYONE ELSE HAS NOTHING WHEN THEY REACH PARADICE

SO THEY ARE AFRAID OF DEATH

I AM NOT AFRAID BECAUSE I KNOW THAT MY NEW LIFE IS

LIFE WILL BE AN EASY ONE IN PARADICE DEATH"

This has also been confirmed by the FBI to be correct:

"On Dec. 5, the FBI received the solution to a cipher popularly known as Z340 from a cryptologic researcher and independently verified the decryption," the FBI said in a statement. "Cipher Z340 is one of four ciphers attributed to the Zodiac Killer. This cipher was first submitted to the FBI Laboratory on Nov. 13, 1969, but not successfully decrypted. Over the past 51 years, CRRU has reviewed numerous proposed solutions from the public--none of which had merit."

The code has been cracked by a Melbourne Mathematician and a team of other cryptographers:

This is huge news and the important thing here to note is that the FBI have acknowledged that this is a correct deciphering of this. Hopefully they are one step closer now to work out who this man could be considering the Ciphering technique he has applied in this code, and trace it back to where this technique could have been taught and who could be intellectual enough to create this code.

I do have concerns in the sense that The Zodiac was known to have spelling issues, whether they are intentional or his genuine dyslexia. This decoding is the best spelling we have ever seen from him considering all of his writings.

Surely they deserve some kind of world prize. This is considered the Holy Grail of ciphers! I watched the 15 minute YouTube video of how they managed to crack it. It was a fluke but a highly necessary one considering some of the greatest brains in the history of mathematics and cryptography have bowed defeat to this.

What it does tell us is that the message is as psychotic as his other stuff, but there was actually a message and he wasn’t throwing the police off his trail by producing garbage. This means that the last 2 unsolved ciphers are also real and breakable. I hope these guys now crack the last 2. Surely thru will find this man. Or surely if this man is alive will send out a response now!

It’s a big deal. It has not been cracked by the FBI/CIA. Or at least they did not publish it unless it would expose their cryptology techniques.
