"There were never any doubts about my fitness" : Sohail Khan

I think PCB has been unfair to him. He is an honest trier who delivered for Pakistan with bat/ball.

Happy Birthday to Sohail Khan - 37 years today; I feel time is up for him in international cricket.

QeA Trophy Round 6, Day 1:

Fast bowler Sohail Khan made the inroads before lunch and it was the Abrar show post-lunch as Balochistan were sent packing for 96. Captain Imran Butt (33) was the only Balochistan batter to offer some resistance.

Abrar finished with a five-wicket haul conceding 23 runs in 5.5 overs as Balochistan lost their last six wickets for 19 runs. Sohail took four wickets for 26 runs from his nine overs. Sindh collected the full (six) bowling points on offer.

500 FC wickets for Sohail Khan!

FFGc3FFXMBEN0-S

30 wickets at 21 so far this season for Sindh, has been immensely consistent despite being 37 now. If he was a few years younger, he would have been certain to be recalled to the test team.

Ruined by the pcb this guy if developed properly could have been someone who took 200 + test wickets

Had all the attributes tall , muscular build big shoulders chest , could bowl a heavy ball and could swing it as well very canny as well.

Career destroyed at intl level was hyped as the next big thing back in the days

In a losing cause in the 2nd semi-final but Sohail Khan 3-37

First hattrick of Season 2 of KPL to Sohail Khan!

He was definitely a very good swing bowler but his pace used to drop to under 70mph by the end of the day. Pathetic fitness.

Outstanding from Player of the Match Sohail Khan in the final of the Nat T20 (4/18)

Player of the final: Sohail Khan (Sindh), PKR 50,000

Maybe it is haircut, but Sohail looks leaner and fitter than his last international coming.

Wish him best of luck and hope he passes on his experience and advice. to younger bowlers on circuit

Some shocking lbw decisions by that umpire ,

Kpk were cheated they lost 2 of their best batsmen.

This guy has officiated at international level, right? Those 2 were absolute howlers! Shocking umpiring!

The Sahibzada decision didn’t look out at first glance but I think the Kamran Ghulam decision looked a lot more out.

Apparently Sindh had some shockers the night before in their Semi too.

Sohail Khan in an interview:

“Virat Kohli came to me (during the 2015 World Cup) and told me I talk too much despite being a newcomer to the team. I told him ‘son, when you were playing for India U19, I was playing Test cricket for Pakistan’. I have been playing Tests for Pakistan since 2006, and then I got injured"

“That’s how I said it. Then if you see carefully, Misbah intervened and he got angry at me. He asked me to keep quiet. Then MS Dhoni also came and told Kohli to back off. He’s an old bloke, you don’t know him,”

Matlab kuch bhi 😂😂

Actually in shock Kholi had the audacity to say to the GOAT Sohail Usain Bolt Khan he talks too much.

No respect left in the world.

Never mind the Rawalpindi Express, watching SK trying to run in was the equivalent of watching a steam locomotive from the 1800s chugging along.

He was another bowler in my opinion who could have played more games for Pakistan.

Had a good action, decent skill with the ball.

It was unfortunate that he debuted a bit too late.

Will always be remembered for his infamous - 'Ghar ka Kohli' statement before 2015 World cup game. To be fair to him, he bowled well that day but that statement was so random that it became the talk of the town. Remember discussing it in depths here in PP as well. Even during the match he tried to sledge and fight with Kohli but Misbah badly scolded him asking him to just focus on the game :ROFLMAO:

Those were the days...I miss those days so dearly.

Off topic, but has entire 2015 bowling attack of Pak has now retired? Irfan, Junaid, Sohail, Afridi, Ajmal?

From India, there are 2 bowlers from that game - Shami & Jadeja still playing in ongoing Asia cup. Just goes to show we have not done transition at all.

what a macho bowler he was with a strong build. Banana outswingers which he bowled in england's test was remarkable.

His fitness was always poor. Remember seeing how his pace fell in his second test (vs Zim), was dropped to get fitter. When he was recalled in 2015, he was dealing with the same issue and funnily he never admitted there was a problem. His pace would fall from 140 to 125 from 1st to 3rd spell.

Sohail Khan is still going strong at the age of 39. Today, he picked up 4 wickets for 44 runs in the second semi-final of the Pakistan Cup while playing for Karachi Whites against Multan.

Sohail Khan has picked up the first fifer of the ongoing National T20 Cup for Karachi Whites against Hyderabad.
His figures were 3.4 overs 15 runs 5 wickets. Fabulous stuff from the veteran fast bowler.

Goes to show how poor/low the standards are in Pak domestic cricket. Nothing against him, but he should not be picking up 5fers. Also some of the players are so overweight and unfit. Just go and watch some of these games online

Tells you alot about the state of the domestic scene when a bowler whose peak was in 2008 is still playing and make young guys look clueless in a T20.

Kudos to him still, he is still providing a stronger domestic scene instead of retiring, alot of other players recently retired just left the domestic scene all together.

Sohail Khan still going strong as he takes another 5-fer in National T20 Cup 2023-24.

I remember Shaheen being asked which delivery he'd love to borrow from another bowler. He replied Sohail Khan's outswinger.

While Sohail initially made his name from raw pace - injuries changed him into a canny swing bowler. He made a real impact in the 2016 ENG Test series.

Unfortunately his gas tank always ran low in the 2nd innings emitting as much CO2 as a Chinese industrial plant - making me wonder why he didn't play more white-ball cricket.

One of the most unluckiest cricketers ever. He could swing the ball both ways with the new ball. Had good Yorkers and slower ball variations.

He was deadly with an old ball.

The fact that we wasted time on trash like Rahat Ali and Wahab Riaz instead of giving Sohail his deserving chances is a major injustice.

wahab riaz wasn't trash to be honest. Not in the league of greats of pakistani bowlers.... but calling him trash will be too harsh.

Sohail Khan of Karachi Whites took 3/34, restricting Sialkot to 165/9. Among his three wickets was that of Shoaib Malik.

Sohail Khan bowled an impressive 3 overs finishing with match figures of 17/3 tonight against Rawalpindi in the National T20 Cup.

Even at the age of 39, he got it. Today, in the second semi-final of the National T20 Cup 2023 for Karachi Whites, Sohail Khan took 2 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs at econ of 5.25 against Rawalpindi.

Sohail Khan is the second highest wicket taker of National T20 Cup 2023:

Matches 12
Wickets 22
BBI 5/10
Econ 7.36

Pony tail or not, I see no improvement in him.
