Cringe worthy comments. Someone would think that he scored a triple hundred based on what he said.
That's the new level of Pakistan. Some of them even celebrate fifties.

Watch DeQock's innings in stark contrast. A clear gulf in quality
The problem is we need a player like Fakhar in the team so i dnt think they will drop him.

why can we not let anyone be happy?
For my part they can distribute mithai after crossing 30 as long as they get those tons or keep up with the scoring rate.
Usually these days our bats get a fifty and then give their wicket away. We saw it many times in the test series. It's all about hunger and setting standards.
He did his job - scored a hundred - he is not responsible for other people.
I'm one of Imams biggest fan as probably the whole forum here knows but this is extremely poor from him. He just set himself up for failure. Now every single failure will be criticized even more. Why would you bring that upon yourself? There was no need to do that. He's been letting his bat do the talking for so long, why put all of that into words?
Don't think anybody will call this a selfish innings like Amla's. Opening batsman scoring a hundred in SA is one for the books. It's the right time to put all the nepotism talk in the garbage. He answered it with his bat and his words. Gutsy kid
Probably you got your answer. These days, on 330 per tracks, if you bat first as opener, scoring 70 ball 50 is a curse for the team, and then if you take 50 more balls to score next 50, you are basically losing the game. We have bashed Azhar Ali left, right & centre for his batting in PP - this innings was poorer than Azhar's poor innings. Tell me, why Ahmed should be out of the squad for this guy - he fields better, he has more experience and at 27-28, should be at his prime. I hope Imam is reading this post and remember it before silencing the crowd.
You should also look at it from another perspective. They are coming from a 203 score with a Hasan ALi 50 in it. The score would still have been 330 if not for Malik. You are incorrectly comparing Imam to what a Rohit Sharma does. The less we speak about Shahzad the better. 60/80 in a Pak setup is terrific. He is still young and can improve his SR. I cannot fault his caution in this game considering the 2nd game. A hundred at 87 SR in SA for a young opener should be commended.
Shehzad is much better than Imam.
I should be put in a mad house, the day I compare Zero shot nephew Imam with Rohit Sharma. Even in 2008, Sharmaji was a better player than Kohli and what he does once set is probably only we have seen from AdV in recent times. Absolutely no comparison - probably best comparison with nephew is with our Imrul, who also has bashed for 300+ runs in 3 innings against a better ZIM attack recently.

Shehzad is much better than Imam.

After failing in 9 innings in South Africa Test Matches, alot of gall to be celebrating like that in an ODI match...
I like the guy, maybe has a point to proof, also maybe want him away from the Test Squad for a while...
as if the others were scoring centuries for fun
Shehzad is much better than Imam.
They weren't exactly duds as openers either... (In test matches)
i wouldn't mix test/odi performances.
when was the last time an opener scored a 100 against a decent side? 2017?
It was a poor knock.
People are looking at the overall 300+ score as an indication that it laid a platform for success.
If anything, it was the fluent contributions of Babar, Hafeez, and Imad (the latter after Imam was dismissed) which pushed Pakistan into a position from which Imam could focus strictly on obtaining his century.
He hit four boundaries from 50 to 100 and played two overs worth of dot balls when he should have accelerated further on.
A lack of mediocore options in reserve does not mean that we cannot recognize a mediocre option in action.

Even Shehzad has a century against an in-form SA side with Steyn in his prime.
I'm not jumping to conclusions either, what I've seen of him he looks a good limited overs bat. Will need to improve his SR.
