From the formation of one day format indian batsman have make many records in batting but one record is not on there belt of 3 consecutive centuries until virat kohli make it today against windies becoming 10th man to do so before this Zaheer Abbas, Saeed Anwar 2 Time, Kumar Sangakara, AB de villiers, Ross Taylor, Quinton de Kock, Babar Azam And Jonny Bairstow...

Babar Azam Centuries Against Windies : 120 (121) , 123 (126) , 117 (106) Match Results W,W,W

Note: It's 16 Odi Of Babar Azam At Age Of 22 On Neutral Venue !

Virat Kohli Centuries Against Windies : 140 (107) 157 (129) , 107 (119) Match Results W,T,L

Note : It's 204 Odi Of Virat At Age Of 29 On Home Venue !

How many of these 3 consecutive tons came against higher ranked teams? I would think that out of 10 batsmen some must have done it against better teams as well.

Don't you know WI is a minnow when they play Pakistan and a very good team when they play India? :vk2

Of course Babar is a better match winner than Kohli. We knew it the moment Babar made his debut. Much like Inzamam was always a better match winner than Sachin.

Sachin scored 3 consecutive centuries against australia but not in consecutive odis of his career

Bobby matching Kohli or should I rather say Virat following the footsteps of Babar!? :P lol

But Bobby's centuries came against lowly Windies.......... oh wait :broad

Babar Azam is the greatest player of all time who has won his country many matches. No comparison at all babar will finish with carear average of 70+ in odis LOL

Babar's 100 as a 21 year youngster helped him establish himself at the international level.

Kohli's 100s against this WI C team proves ZILCH. That ways Babar's 100 were better than the 100s by Kohli.

Kohli at Babar's age had already played a couple of clutch ODI knocks that no Pakistani batsman has ever played in their careers let alone Babar :)

Can you please list the 5 or so regular players that WI is missing this series? I don't quite see how it is their C team.

Saeed Anwar 2 Time

Saeed Anwar was something else in his day. There will always be comparisons by fans between him and Inzi for when they were playing together, but for me Inzi paled in comparison.

I imagine if he was playing today, he would be striking at over 100 with an average in the late 40s-50s. At the time his s/r in his prime was miles ahead of his peers that opened the batting, not to mention for even late order batsmen whose job it was to smash the ball.

Imagine him in his prime playing T20s today. That would be pretty awesome to watch, as all these lesser batsmen gain accolades and wealth that was not available to him back then.

Saeed was a quality ODI opener and our best ever, but he has been surpassed by quite a few openers now. His failures in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand count against him. He was pretty a much walking wicket there - couldn’t cope with the bowling of Australia and South Africa and the conditions of New Zealand.

He thrived quite a bit on weak ODI attacks, although he was a big game player. However, his best format was Test cricket where he surprisingly mastered tough conditions as well and didn’t throw his wicket away softly as he often did in ODIs.

He is remembered more for his ODI exploits because of the hype of the Sharjah Cups where he ruled, and of course the iconic 194. Overall, a massive underachiever due to personal tragedies and his laziness.

Sanga's were great. He had 4 on the trot that to in the 2015 World Cup, they came against Bangladesh, England, Australia, and Scotland. So 2 pretty good teams in there add to the fact he made them in the World Cup at the end of his career just crazy!

Zaheer, De Kock, and Ross all made theirs against India however, Zaheer did it in India.

AB made his against India in India and WI

Saeed made his against Sri Lanka and WI in '93

Bairstow did it against New Zealand and Scotland

Gibbs made his against India, Kenya, and Bangladesh

Saeed Anwar only did it once in 1993, and you are missing Herschel Gibbs from the list of 10 batsman to achieve this feat.

I'm looking at his stats right now - wonder why he only played 55 tests? His career lasted a long time...

Surely there's no argument of who's was better? One was a man at the age of 22 playing in only his 16th ODI, Kohli's was great too just in this little argument Babar takes the cake :)

Nothing thread! both scored runs against lowly ranked team struggling to even field their best side. Kholi has done many better things like top scoring in recent England series etc. Maybe for Babar this thread makes sense as he has not done much else yet due to limited career so far in ODIs and nothing career so far in tests.
