Shadab Khan, Mohammad Asghar and Yasir Shah!

Dream team? Excellent to see some excellent spinners in the squad and all three can bat a bit too!

But which two could realistically play in one Test team?

He's far more gifted than Shadab. Pakistanis however are the worst at identifying genuine talent.

Both are great. Not really gonna make him better than Shady over a few performances on pitches we have no idea of. But the point is, he deserves to be in the PSL. Or at least in the A team.

Zafar and Irfan will threaten on any pitch. These three won't. They don't generate the same revolutions.

Look we've barely seen these guys. How many times have you seen Irfan, or even Gohar? 2, 3 or is it 4? Sure, they're talented but don't demean the guys in the squad.

Oh okay so we are overrating that guy today.

Lets join the bandwagon.

I'm not overrating him. Don't get me wrong. I just want him to be near the set up. Maybe on the A teams if not PSL. He looked really good but the guys in the squad are definitely superior.

Just kidding , i havent seen much of him to tell how good or bad he is. I like asghar and he deserved a call up , zafar though definitely is a bigger spinner of cricket ball but lacks the accuracy of asghar, his batting is better too

Agreed. I like Asghar more too. There is no difference between Zafar and Nawaz. They are bowlers who rely most on arm ball. Asghar brings variation to the table.

England right now would give their right arm to have one of these options.

Grateful to have such depth in spin options.

ironically, spin bowling is the only area we don't have a specialty coach and the only area that is not struggling.

Thing with Shadab is he is a proper batsman aswell. Someone who can win matches with batting alone too.
I hope he gets selected and we will see his batting too.
Pretty sure he will score runs.

Spin to win guys. Yasir will play all 3 matches so Shadab and Asghar will play 1 or 2. I think they'll do well here, WI batting isn't great and they're missing their best test batsman Darren Bravo.

Time to boost up the stats guys :babar

Pakistan's spin resources looking very healthy.

Add to these the likes of Usama Mir, Zafar Gohar etc.

Shahzaib ahmed khan is better leggie than shadab in tests , he performed against west indies in side match took 5 wickets.

When you take alook at the fact that 3 of the recent spinners who are playing or are about to play Pakistan cricket, are from the rawalpindi region in domestic cricket, it makes you wonder why isnt rawalpindi region a strong powerhouse in domestic cricket due to having 3 spinners in a country where the wickets suit primarly the spinners.

11 of the 12 top wicket-takers in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy were pacers...

How do you know when neither have played a Test for Pakistan?

Lol, what?

Zafar is the biggest spinner of the cricket ball in the PK domestic circuit

I've been following Gohar since he came on to the scene. It doesn't take more than one match to see who imparts more revolutions. These two generate more drift than anyone and they get the ball to rip off the pitch.

Gohar was better a couple of years ago than he is now. He is going through a phase where he doesnt get the ball to drop.

He's not a one trick pony. He adjusts to any pitch. Flat line bowling is only in T20s when he opens. When he debuted, his first few overs he was bowling 90+ and very flat. In a matter of overs he adjusted and started flighting the ball, got drift, turn and drop with a wet ball.

Gohar's actually improved not regressed. He doesn't go across the stumps anymore, Mushy's corrected his run up and rotation of the hips. Bowling much straighter lines now.

I'm not sure about Shadab and he shouldn't have been selected.

He has hardly played any FC games and we didn't even get to see how he does in ODI's.

Zafar and Shahzaib were the better options.

Atm, Pak are just stacked with quality spin options and Raza Hasan should be returning soon is well, who is an excellent LOI bowler (if he can regain his touch).

Isn't chief destroyer the lad who rates and backs current Amir? Something tells me that his predictions are not as good as he thinks they are....

Cheif intelligence destroyer doesn't shy from sharing some very thought provoking ideas :yk3

Our spin resources are generally looking very good but can't say the same for the other facets and a lot of it is to do with the PCB's incompetence to develop talent; we can't always rely on a lottery

Yes, because he will come straight into the team and average 40+ right away.

Which player starts to bat like Viv Richards and Brian Lara from the word go as it is genius?

These kids man.

Zafar is definitely unlucky to be so low in the pecking order.

Don't know much about Irfan. How old is he Chief Destroyer?

We indeed have three potentially world-class spinners at the moment, though.

Being too much optimistic Yasir has had a lean patch and Shabad n Asghar both are N00bs at test match level

If we're playing two spinners, then Asghar is a shoe-in with his variety. I don't think we'd go with two leggies.

You can't pick a player with barely any first class experience based on purely potential for Test matches.

On the other side you can also say that players are ruined in domestic. You see u-19 talents from other sides now making it big/already established wc players and the Pak players who were better then them in u-19s have faded away. Yes a part of fault are players themselves but sorry i really feel Pak domestic failed badly to polish them.

One of my fear is Shadab might get ruin in domestics so the most he is with the international side the better it is. He is a special player and we need to take care of him. A player with great potential who can contribute winning so many matches for Pakistan with his bowling, fielding and batting. Mickey Arthur recently called him 'Gold' too.

I'm not sure about Asghar. Definitely isn't test material just yet. Shadab is an interesting pick but I can get behind it but Shah...well what more is there to say about him.

Those times are long gone. We will never produce players of that calibre again.

Its not that we wont, but its more of a question we dont have the people to find them. Each and every layer of PK(PCB) is corrupt and it is miracle that a poor person can make it to the top. Just imagine the talent that nobody knew existed because of the likes of Butt,Sethi etc.

Hasan Raza is back, we might see him in the next national t20 cup and maybe PSL too if he performs well in that.

Shadab and Asghar are already in the team, Usama, Zafar, and Hassaan are good as well. Nawaz, Irfan, and few others also, so a lot of good spin talent is there.:58:
