Chief of the Opposition's Pakistan Democratic Movement Fazlur Rehman on Saturday said that the time has come for "Pakistan's Trump" to be "removed" from office.

"One Trump [has left office], we will send the Pakistani Trump packing," he said, referring to US President Donald Trump's failure to win a second term in office and the Opposition's aim to oust Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, where a rally in defiance of all government warnings is due to be held tomorrow by the 11-party alliance, Rehman said: "This government is the representative of a stolen mandate. It is not the representative of the people."

"A historic rally will take place tomorrow in Peshawar," he vowed, adding that the next rally will be held on November 26 in Larkana which his party, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl), will host.

Fazlur Rehman said that the Opposition will not allow the government to rest at any juncture in the movement. He said another rally will take place on November 30 in Multan.

Speaking of the government's warnings against holding rallies, he said that they found no other excuse, so started raising a hue and cry about the spread of coronavirus.

"This illegitimate government itself is a big corona," he said, adding: "While we talk about COVID-19, we should also shed light upon COVID-18."

The PDM chief said that the Opposition's campaign against the government has reached its peak and that the organisational structure of the movement is now complete.

He said that the country's situation can be assessed by looking at Peshawar's Bus Rapid Transit.

"We represent every school of thought and every section of the country," Fazlur Rehman claimed.

Referring to a State Bank of Pakistan report stating that the country's GDP growth had plunged to 0.4%, he said that due to the financial crisis, the country's very existence is at stake.

PDM not backing down
The Opposition has decided it will push ahead with the Peshawar jalsa at Dalazak Road, Ring Road Chowk despite the city administration denying permission for a gathering there.

A notification issued on Friday by the Peshawar deputy commissioner's office said the matter was considered by the district administration and capital city police under Section 14 of the KP Civil Administration Act 2020. The government officials did a field assessment and held a meeting with the rally organisers.

Citing a November 2 notification issued by the KP government banning large public gatherings owing to the rising coronavirus positivity rate in the province, the deputy commissioner denied permission to hold the rally "after considering all aspects, and to safeguard human lives due to potential spread of COVID-19."

However, the PDM is not ready to back down. Its media coordinator, Abdul Jalil Jan, said the rally will be held as planned on November 22.

He added that they will not tolerate any sort of ban from the Peshawar district administration. Jan said holding the rally is their fundamental right under the Constitution and law.

Speaking to Geo News, PML-N provincial chief Amir Muqam said the opposition parties did not need permission to hold the rally. "We will strictly follow COVID-19 SOPs. If Imran Khan really cared about the country, we would not be out on the streets."

Furthermore, PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah told the media on Thursday that the Opposition is not ready for any negotiation with the government,

There will be a rally in Lahore on December 13, he added, calling the government’s “propaganda” a failure.

Government's efforts to prevent Peshawar rally
Meanwhile, the government is making efforts to stop the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) from holding the rally in Peshawar on Sunday amid the worsening situation of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

PM Imran Khan accused opposition leaders of "playing reckless politics with people's safety".

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Taimur Saleem Jhagra warned that the number of infections can triple-fold in the second wave. Jhagra said the government was not opposed to the opposition's jalsa but keeping in view the spike in coronavirus case the public should decide whether the political gathering should take place or not.

Special Assistant to KP CM on Information Kamran Bangash said: "If the cases rise, we will hold opposition responsible and take action against them."

Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar said he has requested National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser to call a meeting of the NA body on coronavirus to stop the Opposition’s rally.

Umar has asked Qaiser to find a solution in which political activity may continue, but the safety of the public is also ensured.

They wanted to close the country down back in March and today they want to hold Jalsas in the middle of the 2nd wave. Badniyaat, Munafiq haraamis.

You see the idiots leading these so called political parties and you wish that Imran Khan, Ruth the full support and night of the army, can stay in power for the next twenty years.

Who needs democracy when you have thrives and murderers leading the opposition.

“One Trump [has left office], we will send the Pakistani Trump packing.

This government is the representative of a stolen mandate. It is not the representative of the people.”

Totally agree with Maulana Saab. However, this is not the right time for a rally.

Totally agree with Maulana Saab. However, this is not the right time for a rally.

Why dont you attend. These Munafiqs that wanted to starve the poor back in March today are telling us that CV doesn't exist. You really are one of those.

Comparing Imran Khan to Donald Trump? Wow!

That was uncalled for.

Let them these munafiq say and do everything they can. They have exposed their naked Munafiq backsides for everyone to see. Remember when [MENTION=131701]Mamoon[/MENTION] told us IK was incompetent for opening Masjids, yes Masjids and today can't utter a proper word of condemnation. They plan, Allah plans......

Imran Khan has failed the nation. He sold a dummy but he has been badly exposed for his sheer incompetence and lack of vision.

He only has words and hollow promises to offer. In terms of practicality, he offers nothing.

The military establishment call themselves as patriots so they should prove their patriotism by sacking this clueless government that they helped win the 2018 election.

It was a bad experiment - let’s get rid of these charlatans and move on before it is too late.

There are factions within the military who are eager to see the back of Imran. These generals have realized that backing him has proved to be a costly mistake because he is not fit to serve as PM.

These generals are disillusioned by the average team that he has assembled. There is hardly any or capable minister in this government.

The mian brigade all the intellect :p Love it how you now want to ride on the generals back into power :)

Lost track of how many times it’s been “the time” to remove the government… the circus continues.

Wouldn’t normally matter, let them cry and hold as many jalsas and whatnot. But doing it when COVID cases are on the rise and claiming that govt. efforts to limit public gatherings are a conspiracy? Yeah, very noble and thoughtful.

Not going to happen.
Beyond the debate of Generals, now there is one more ( perhaps most important atm) key player who knows how to safeguard the investment of Billions USD.

Talking about how the generals are delusional yet you support PMLN, lol

Your badniyaati along with the crooks is obvious to anyone. There isn't a single issue you have ever been right on. You are humiliated on anything you open your mouth on. Remember when you came back with your manifesto on CV and you told us why IK was incompetent when he kept the Masjids open and according to you he needed to be sacked for that, well where have you been recently when your crooks are doing large jalsas in the middle of the 2nd wave. What is the point of the Jalsas except to increase the cases and when they go up, your badniyaati will show through and you will blame IK. I don't think you and the crooks have realised that that's its badniyaat that leads to your daily humiliation.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will be compelled to go into a complete lockdown if the coronavirus cases continue to surge across the country at the same rate and the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will be responsible for the consequences, tweeted PM Imran Khan on Sunday.

Taking to Twitter, the prime minister blamed the PDM for "deliberately endangering lives and livelihoods" by holding jalsas across the country with coronavirus cases in Pakistan on the rise.

"If [coronavirus] cases continue to rise at the rate we are seeing, we will be compelled to go into complete lockdown and the PDM will be responsible for [the] consequences," he tweeted.

Reiterating his often-repeated stance, the premier told Opposition parties that he would not grant them an NRO even if they held "a million jalsas".

"Opposition is callously destroying people's lives & livelihoods in their desperation to get an NRO. Let me make it clear: they can hold a million jalsas but will not get any NRO," he tweeted.

However, the prime minister said he did not want to take the lockdown measure as it would hurt the economy and create problems for the people. He lashed out at the Opposition by saying that its "only goal is NRO at whatever cost to the lives of people & the country's economy".

"I do not want to take measures like a lockdown that will start hurting our economy which at the moment is showing signs of a robust recovery. Unfortunately, the Opposition's only goal is NRO at whatever cost to the lives of people & the country's economy," he tweeted.

PDM, KP govt face-off over Peshawar rally

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had denied permission a few days ago to the PDM to hold a public gathering in Peshawar today.

Authorities had said that the matter was considered by the district administration and capital city police under Section 14 of the KP Civil Administration Act 2020. The government officials did a field assessment and held a meeting with the jalsa organisers.

But, citing a November 2 notification issued by the KP government banning large public gatherings owing to the rising coronavirus positivity rate in the community, the deputy commissioner denied permission to hold the jalsa "after considering all aspects, and to safeguard human lives due to potential spread of COVID-19".

However, the PDM said it would carry on its jalsa in Peshawar, with JUI-F chief and the PDM's president, Maulana Fazlur Rehman saying that the government was the "coronavirus".

Opposition parties in Pakistan are keeping up the pressure on Imran Khan, holding a series of mass protests against his government.

They allege the prime minister came to power in rigged 2018 elections backed by the military.

On Sunday, thousands of protesters are due to demonstrate in the city of Peshawar, despite a government threat to ban gatherings to curb rising coronavirus cases.

The PM, who came to power on an anti-corruption platform, has said the campaign is aimed at blackmailing him to drop corruption cases against opposition leaders.

Pakistan's powerful military denies interfering in politics and Mr Khan rejects claims it helped him win.

The next general election is not due until 2023.

Who is behind the rallies?

The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has held a series of mass demonstrations since 16 October.

Its members range from a right-wing religious group to centrist and left-of-centre mainstream parties as well as secular nationalists.

Huge rallies have taken place in three of the country's four provinces - Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan. Sunday's is the first the PDM has held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Opposition parties say they want to overthrow the "unrepresentative" government, which they also accuse of putting pressure on the judiciary and mismanaging the economy.

The PDM is the latest alliance which aims to restore "real" democracy in Pakistan's perpetual civil-military conflict.

But this time a top highlight is the return of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to public politics.

And he has done this with a difference.

His direct hits at the two top military officials - army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and chief of the top military intelligence agency, the ISI, Lt Gen Faiz Hameed - are unprecedented in the country's 73-year history.

He says they are responsible for Pakistan's political and economic woes.

What do the rallies tell us?

The rallies held so far in Gujranwala, Karachi and Quetta took place despite hurdles such as road blocks and even some arrests by the authorities.

In one such incident, Nawaz Sharif's son-in-law, Safdar Awan, was arrested from his hotel room early in the morning after the Karachi rally on 19 October.

The move caused embarrassment to both the government and the military after footage of the raid emerged, showing security personnel breaking into Mr Awan's room when he was sleeping with his wife.

Soon it emerged that hours before the raid, the police chief of Sindh, of which Karachi is the capital, was taken from his residence to the offices of an intelligence service and "forced" to sign Mr Awan's arrest orders.

Subsequently, the entire officer cadre of Sindh police applied for "protest leave", which they postponed when the army chief announced an in-house inquiry into the police chief's alleged kidnapping.

But although the army chief ordered the removal of certain ISI and military officials, no visible action has been taken against them yet.

The authorities have also put pressure on the media to censor some of the speeches at the rallies.

During live coverage, television channels invariably cut back to the studios when Mr Sharif begins his video-link address from London, or when nationalist leaders like Mohsin Dawar take to the rostrum.

These leaders have been castigating the army, accusing it of enforced disappearances, human rights abuses, and controlling the Khan government from behind the scenes.

Imran Khan and his team claim the people voted for them because they were sick of the "massive corruption" under previous governments run by Mr Sharif's PML-N party and former President Asif Zardari's PPP.

But for independent observers, the 2018 elections were the dirtiest in Pakistan's history. Pre-election surveys had forecast a clear majority for the PML-N, but Imran Khan's PTI ended up winning by a thin margin.

Ahead of the election, Nawaz Sharif was convicted while prime minister on what the legal community had widely described as questionable grounds, and was put behind bars. He was later allowed to go to the UK for medical treatment.

media captionHow much influence does the Pakistani army have in politics?

On election day itself, the national results service suspiciously crashed, ending the hope for quick online transmission of vote counts direct from each constituency. Many polling agents alleged that figures shown in the final results were different from those they had delivered after the physical vote count.

So Imran Khan's government started off with suspect legitimacy.

Since then allegations of human rights abuses have mounted against state agencies, media censorship has worsened and journalists who paint the military in a negative light have faced threats or even kidnapping. The most recent example is that of the Karachi journalist who obtained and shared the CCTV footage of the raid on Mr Awan's hotel room.

What happens now?

No one can be sure where the current uprising will lead.

But everyone knows that the battle is between the politicians and the military, with Prime Minister Imran Khan seen by his opponents as an appendage of the latter.

The opposition rallies have not only questioned the legitimacy of his government, but have also thrown a direct challenge to the heads of the army and the ISI, in a country with a history of civil-military tension and coups.

The last popular uprising was in 2008, when General Pervez Musharraf was ousted and the constitution restored.

'My father was taken and I don't know why'Uncovering Pakistan's secret human rights abusesMiddle-class students fighting for a homeland dream

Since then, the country has witnessed what analysts describe as a creeping coup, which transformed into a "hybrid military regime" in 2018.

Ayesha Siddiqa, an expert on the Pakistani military, believes that due to the opposition's recent onslaught, the chiefs of the army and the ISI have begun to look weak, but not the army itself.

In order to ensure the supremacy of the constitution, members of the opposition alliance will need to develop a "core expertise that would make a cogent civil-military dialogue and a pushback possible", she says.

In addition, she says, they will "have to be willing to re-arrange overall socio-political and socio-economic relations beyond winning elections".

The coming weeks and months will show if the new opposition alliance can achieve all of this and more

PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Sunday declared that the incumbent government will "have to go home by January" and called upon the masses to hold the rulers as well as their "selectors" accountable.

While addressing a rally in Peshawar arranged by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Bilawal lamented that the erstwhile Fata was still deprived of its rights as the government was not releasing adequate funds for its development. He said that the people who had been displaced due to terrorism and military operations against militants had still not been rehabilitated. Residents whose family members had been killed by terrorists or whose houses and shops had suffered damages had not been compensated either, the PPP chief said.

Bilawal told the crowd that his party had struggled for Fata's merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for a long time and his mother, former prime minister Benazir Bhutto had even gone to court.

"Today, Fata has been merged with KP on paper but its people are not being given their rights. Even now areas in erstwhile Fata are off-limits [to visitors]. There are still legal blackholes, there are still internment centres. Late Peshawar High Court chief justice Waqar Seth had ruled that internment centres should be handed over to the police but sadly we never saw that happen," he said.

The lawmaker further said the province, despite producing a sizeable share of crude oil that was distributed across the country, was not receiving royalties. He noted that the province also produced gas and hydel power that exceeded KP's requirements, yet it was not being paid its fair share.

Bilawal also addressed criticism over PDM's decision to hold the rally despite increasing Covid-19 cases, saying that the government "only remembers Covid when they want to stop our rallies and your protest".

"They don't remember Covid when it comes to regularising medical staff or increasing salaries," he said.

The PPP chief also criticised the accountability process, saying that the National Accountability Bureau went after members of the opposition for "political revenge" but "does not have the courage" to pursue corruption cases against government figures. He declared the PTI government as the "most corrupt government in Pakistan's history".

"NAB doesn't see how Peshawar's BRT is the country's most expensive metro system and its buses catch fire on their own. It doesn't see corruption in Malam Jaba, or how buildings in New York were built through sewing machines. [...] NAB does not have the courage to check how a special assistant was able to build a Papa John's empire around the world," Bilawal said and added that the country cannot have a strong accountability system until "there is one law for all citizens. Until there are same courts and laws for politicians, army generals and judges."

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, during his address, extended condolences to PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and his family over the demise over the latter's mother. Earlier PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, after receiving word of her grandmother's passing, told the crowd that she would not be able to address the rally.

Rehman also extended condolence to the family and followers of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi, who passed away on Thursday.

The JUI-F chief once again alleged that the 2018 general elections had been rigged and said that all political parties were in agreement on this point. Rehman said that the government was "flustered" by PDM's rallies and added the rulers "should now be shamed and sent home".

"Our stance is very clear. Rigging has been done, we know who was behind it and the one who is na maloom (unknown), we all know who that is," said the JUI-F leader.

He then went on to say: "We respect the army if it is our defence institution. But if it tries to become a political institution, it will have to tolerate criticism. Then it should not say, 'don't take our name'.

"Even today, we are giving you this deadline; stop supporting them (government), withdraw [your backing] and declare that this is not our government. Raise your voice against this government along with us, we will then be brothers.

"Why do you indulge in politics?"

He deplored the poor state of economy, saying that in 2018 it was estimated that growth rate in 2019 would be 5.5 per cent and will continue to grow. The incumbent government, however, had ruined the economy, he said. Due to the wavering economy, no country in the world wanted to establish relations with Pakistan, claimed Rehman and went on to say that the incumbent government had ruined bilateral relations with China, Iran and Afghanistan.

Terming Prime Minister Imran Khan as the "Pakistani Trump", Rehman said that the premier will be "rejected" just like the Americans had rejected US President Donald Trump in recent elections. He accused the prime minister of "wanting to finish Pakistan".

Rehman further said that due to the government's policies, "no one was ready to trust Pakistan", including its allies. He also criticised the government's policy pertaining to the Kashmir issue, saying that the prime minister was "crying crocodile's tears after selling Kashmir".

Commenting on erstwhile Fata's merger with KP, the JUI-F chief told the crowd that his party had said that the step should not be taken "in a hurry" and insinuated that the decision was taken under pressure.

"I know under whose pressure it was done (Fata merger). I know a lot of things." He said that even an elected government does not have the mandate to "shift its boundaries".

The Fata merger bill was passed in 2018 when the PML-N was in power. Nearly every political party had supported the merger, of which Rehman remained a fierce opponent.

Rehman, in his address today, said that Pakistan's survival depended on the ouster of the incumbent government and that was the reason behind the PDM alliance.

'KP masses boycotted PDM rally'
Soon after the rally wrapped up, Information Minister Shibli Faraz released a video message in which he paid tribute KP public for "boycotting" the PDM gathering.

"Not only did they (public) keep themselves safe from corona on the prime minister's appeal, they also turned PDM's anti-public agenda into a failure," he said and condemned the opposition alliance for insisting on holding a public meeting despite rising Covid-19 cases as well as a court order.

He urged participants of the rally to quarantine themselves in order to keep others safe.

Terror threat
Peshawar was on high alert as the PDM — an alliance of 11 opposition parties — prepared to hold a rally at Ring Road amid security threats and the risk of the spread of coronavirus.

Opposition leaders, including PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PPP chairman Bilawal and PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz, reached the venue in the afternoon after having lunch at Bilour House.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government issued an advisory, warning about the "threat of terrorism" during the opposition's rally. The chief minister's adviser on information, Kamran Bangash, said police had prepared a security plan and informed the PDM organisers, workers and leaders to beef up their own security arrangements as well.

In a statement, Bangash said police and law enforcement agencies were ready to deal with any "unfortunate event".

Peshawar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Mansoor Aman said that 4,500 security officials have been deputed for security. A control room has also been established to monitor the rally and an anti-riot force was ready in case of an emergency.

Traffic police have chalked out a traffic plan for the rally and banned the entry of all heavy traffic to the city.

Though the district administration had rejected the PDM's request for permission for holding the rally, citing a spike in Covid-19 cases, the opposition alliance decided to go ahead with the showdown.

Workers of political parties put up a stage with the help of shipping containers.

Organisers said central PDM leaders, including Maulana Fazl, Maryam, Bilawal, Ameer Haider Hoti, Mahmood Khan Achackzai and Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, would address the rally.

A member of the organising committee said the opposition parties had arranged face masks and hand sanitisers for participants, while the district administration would also distribute face masks.

He said adherence to SOPs would be ensured in the rally to the maximum.

'PDM deliberately endangering lives'
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan lashed out at the PDM for "deliberately endangering lives [and] livelihoods" by going ahead with their rallies despite a rise in the number of coronavirus cases.

In a series of tweets, the premier said that several major cities had seen a drastic increase in the number of virus patients on ventilators.

"Increase in Covid patients on ventilators in last 15 days: Peshawar 200 per cent, Multan 200pc, Karachi 148pc, Lahore 114pc, Islamabad 65pc. Multan & Is(lamabad) Covid ventilators capacity utilisation 70pc."

He said that countries around the world were enforcing "complete lockdowns" amid a second spike in infections, warning that the PDM was "deliberately endangering lives and livelihoods" because the government in Pakistan too would have to impose a "complete lockdown" if cases continued to rise at the current rate.

"Opposition is callously destroying people's lives and livelihoods in their desperation to get an NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance). Let me make it clear: they can hold a million jalsas (rallies) but will not get any NRO," he added.

The premier said he did not want to impose a lockdown which would hurt the economy, which he said was showing signs of "robust recovery".

"Unfortunately, the Opposition's only goal is NRO at whatever cost to the lives of people [and] the country's economy."

Imran Khan may be visionless and incompetent but I would still rather see him in power than a traitorous party like PML(N) or a party like PPP whose sole reason for existence is to destroy institutions.

The only other alternative is if the rationalists within PML(N), led by Shehbaz Sharif form another party. I am no supporter of SS, but (a) he is not a traitor like his brother. (b) he knows how to work with the establishment, who whether people like it or not are a permanent fixture of Pakistan's politics. (c) actually knows how to govern. And (d) is a seasoned politician who will move away from the divisive and confrontational nature that Pakistani politics has taken since 2018.

I'm not saying he's not corrupt and won't indulge in cronyism but if anyone still thinks these things can be completely done away with then they are simply unrealistic individuals.

I really hope the establishment does everything within its power to stop Maryam from ever coming into power. There will be nothing more detrimental for this country than that.

SS and NS play good cop,bad cop. Its total rubbish that SS was competent. The problems in Punjab of the Qabza mafia were created by him to benefit his family, why were the likes of Mansha Bomb allowed to roam free? He inherited a 100bn surplus and left a 2 trillion debt? His Metro will require an annual subsidy of $80mn in Lahore, when the rest of Punjab has been left without investment, the Police thugs in Punjab were hired by him and the PunjabPolice are not fit for purpose but at least in Lahore the CCPO has made a start. PKs fall for the PR crap too easily. As far as your assertion that IK is visionless, well what is the vision of any of PKs politician?

I agree with almost everything you said and I am not going to deny any of it, but are you really going to tell me that governance in Punjab has not just gotten worse?

SS is a compromise and an alternative to Nawaz/Maryam and Bilawal/Zardari. Pakistan can't become a one-party state. There should be a viable opposition that doesn't comprise of traitorous politicians ready to compromise on the country's national interests. Right now, you can tread the course with Imran but nobody stays in power forever. And you can never predict how quickly public opinion can change.

That is what worries me. That down the line these geniuses decide that it wouldn't be so bad to let her come to power. Plus, subverting popular support is not as easy as it once was for the establishment. They are forced to do things from the shadows. And Maryam has a sizeable support base.

At the same time, I also think they are keenly aware what Maryam coming to power could do to this country. Her speeches, statements will only embolden them. And when you have both the law at your disposal, and corrupt fools who keep scoring own goals, the job does become a little easier.

But SS is cut from the sane cloth. The cloth is to make idiots of thick people by clever use of PR and visible projects, whilst all the time filling up theirs and their family coffers.
The Punjab governance is interesting, the Punjsb Police and bureaucracy are loyal to the Sharifs and have deliberately put hurdles in the way of the PTI and even with those hurdles the PTI have done ok. The biggest failure of the PTI in Punjab is the failure to deal with these crooks. The reason is that with the PTI they can run to the courts, if they disobeyed the Sharifs, they or their family members would be kidnapped.

This may be true to a certain extent but not completely. PTI has failed on all counts when it comes to governance in Punjab. They have appointed cronies loyal to them on key positions too, but nothing seems to make a difference. And IK's decision to persist with Buzdar is at the center of this. To run Punjab you need someone who can get things done. Buzdar does not seem like someone who fits that description. At the end of the day, the job of the Police and Bureaucracy is to serve the state and the government in power. Failure to get them to do their job constitutes as a failure to govern.

I don’t support him but I agree with his views on Imran.

Yes, you do. You support all the crooks on that stage, all these crooks are calling for a military coup. There is no alternative to IK in PK and won't be for the foreseeable future. Only a total loser like you can't recognise that every one you support is a criminal.

MULTAN: The city administration on Thursday refused to grant permission for a public gathering planned by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), citing the rising spread of the coronavirus.

An application seeking permission to hold the meeting on November 30 in Multan was filed by PPP leader Natasha Daultana. The party is planning to host the PDM jalsa at Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh Stadium. The gathering will also mark the party's 53rd foundation day.

Denying permission for the jalsa, Deputy Commissioner Amir Khattak cited Punjab government directives banning public gatherings of more than 300 guests until January 31 next year. He added that at least eight smart lockdowns have been imposed in the city to curb the COVID-19 outbreak.

Isn't this the guy who said that instead of conducting the nuclear tests in an obscure part of Baluchistan, they should be conducted in National Stadium Karachi so that people could go and watch!

He said that they can be ‘bhai bhai’ with the army again if the govt. is thrown out :ua

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has started investigating a complaint filed against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman which says the government transport service illegally sold expensive land to the JUI-F chief at a low price.

In the complaint, it is alleged that the JUI-F was given 64 Kanal government-owned land after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif closed the general transport service department, a source in the bureau said.

The NAB source said land worth Rs14 million was illegally given to the JUI-F for Rs4 million.

JUI-F Khyber Paktunkhwa chief Senator Attaur Rehman, however, told Geo News said the complaint is a lie and nothing will come of it.

This investigation too, like all other NAB investigations, will go into the trash, the senator said.

In September, NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had summoned Fazl to answer allegations that he owns assets beyond known sources of income.

In the notice sent to the JUI-F chief, NAB KP had stated that Fazl can be arrested if his answers fail to satisfy officials of the anti-corruption watchdog.

Diesel is asking for the establishment to overthrow a democratically elected government. This is treason per Article 6 of the Pakistani constitution.

Which is why IK was smart to extend Bajwa. You dont know what kind of snake the next COAS could be.

I think he will be back. Can you imagine the humiliation for Billo if a sitting CM does a runner

They wd still find a way to blame it on Imran khan and army and the gullible Patwaris and Jaalas wd take it lying down.
