Over the last five years, the top teams have been India, Australia, New Zealand, England and South Africa. If we look at the best bowling averages away from home against these top teams in last 5 years:-

1. Pat Cummins 59 wickets, Avg 21
2. Jasprit Bumrah 63 wickets, Avg 23
3. Ishant Sharma 42 wickets, Avg 22
4. Neil Wagner 31 wickets, Avg 23
5. Stuart Broad 59 wickets, Avg 27
6. Mohammad Shami 52 wickets, Avg 29
7. James Anderson 44 wickets, Avg 29
8. Josh Hazelwood 50 wickets, Avg 30
9. Kagiso Rabada 46 wickets, Avg 30

To conclude, Cummins and Bumrah have been comfortably the two standout test bowlers as far as performance against top teams away from home is concerned.

Ishant Sharma and Neil Wagner have had great resurgence in the last 4-5 years and they are up there among the top 4 performers as well.

Broad, Shami and Anderson have good numbers. One of the big names though, Rabada seems to have disappointed away from home, particularly in India and England.

Tim Southee(32), Mitchell Starc(32), Mohammad Amir(33), Mohammad Abbas(34) all average over 30. Other disappointments during this phase are Boult(41), Shaheen(37), Archer (47) and Naseem(71).

Pat Cummins is the best test match bowler in the world. Don't think he gets credit he should on PP.

Man we are missing Ishant badly in this series, he brings that invaluable new ball skill with height and aggression into the mix. Cummins and Bumrah are easily the top 2 bowlers in the world right now. Also kinda surprised to see Amir despite the flak he gets didn't actually do too bad at all.

Amir averaged 33 in SENA post the comeback. Pretty good considering the performance of his less experienced teammates. He could have been the leader of their pace attack.

Ishant has been top notch in last 5 years.

Sorry, I disagree, pretty much everyone consider him to be the best in the world bar a very few including me, definitely gets his due credit in PP. I think Bumrah is just slightly better when you take all formats and conditions into account. While Bumrah is relentless in his pursuit Cummins can change the complexion of the game with one fiery spell. Bumrah is more like Mcgrath while Cummins reminds me of Curtley Ambrose.

Mate all I saw when Cummins got smashed a few times in recent Australia games is he is overrated and other nonsense.

Bumrah is a special bowler , but I would take Cummins due to his intensity and ability to produce something speical out of nowhere. But I can understand if someone went for Bumrah instead. I enjoy fast bowlers who have intensity.

Fair enough mate.

Rabada hasn't done half bad, but i reckon he'll be handled rather gingerly in the away series against Pakistan so will be interesting.

His battle vs Babar will be interesting.

Don't know if he'll be fit in time for Pakistan but i don't see much from him in Karachi as i do in Pindi. The other bowlers don't look as threatening either from what i saw in the SL series.
