So i was due to travel to pak next week and it seems they will only allow entrance with a COVID-19 negative test result, which is quite weird as i have not seen this anywhere else or know if its even possible to get this done.

As expected HC has no info on any of there social media channels or website.

Flights are still running, im going with Turkish and even though most of them are being cancelled everyday with my flight number mine is still a week away.

Is anyone else due to travel, im thinking about calling in and cancelling now, but wouldnt mind going if i can get in without this test result.

No one should even think about travelling to another country at the moment. Stay home and stay safe.

I was planning on going for a week next month but a month is a long time at present.

If I can get in, I would go. Safer than the UK.

I've got friends due to go to Islamabad for their son's wedding next week.

Tough decisions ahead for them.

My cousin cancelled his flight to Pak

Turkish airlines have cancelled flights from UK.
Yes they want a certificate that you have taken a test, will be very difficult for those going next few days.
Best to cancel your trip.

I went and came back last week for a short 5 day trip, I was given a declaration form before landing asking if i had traveled to China or Italy, there were no real checks unless you declared it, found Pakistani locals in Lahore cautious but not totally panicking like the rest of the world.

I would say it's still save but a lock down on air travel is the only thing to ruin your return journey, not contacting the virus.

Can't blame them for doing this but this is practically a travel ban. You can't just go to a hospital and demand a covid19 test 24hrs before a flight. Not to mention you will be denying actual sick people the resources by doing this. Would be better if they just announce a few weeks travel ban with or without a certificate.

I was planning to travel to Pakistan in the start of April. I have got touch with a clinic for a test / results. I dont really what does or not qualify as a certified certificate. I will have results but not a certificate.

Honestly, no place is safer, if there is a person around you and you do not know how his/her status then you aren't safe.

Treat every person as if they are carrying a virus and act as if you are carrying a virus.

Life as we know has changed until the vaccine is made.

School closing isn't a snow day or holiday, school will remain closed until the vaccine is created.

Movie theater, sports event, etc will remain closed until the vaccine is created.

I was supposed to be flying with Emirates to Pakistan then Dubai on Friday, when the FCO advised not to travel unless essential i have cancelled my flight and going through travel insurance to get my refund. Emirates are not cancelling the flight. The new checks are very difficult to obtain.

they should cancel for free, you shouldnt have to go through travel insurance, turkish are doing it for free even if flight isnt canceled.

I guess the issue also is you may get there safely but coming back might be a big problem.

Not emirates as they are still operating flights. offer to re-schedule before 31st June till October i believe but we are not sure when we will go again this year or next inshallah

Seems like most travel agents have shut office and ran away.

Been calling mine since morning and no one answering, FB and twitter shows that people been trying to contact them since 3 weeks and they have closed the office and not responding to emails.

Going to contact turkish airlines tmrw but they will probably say i have to go through the agency, going to contact ABTA aswell, otherwise bank charge back will be done.

I was planning to go and visit my wife for a week in the first week of May after tax season but now that the tax filing deadline has been extended to June 1st, it will be impossible for me to go before June

My cousins wedding got cancelled...

Stay at home mate...
You may be trapped there whilst we’re in lockdown here

I was actually supposed to be on the plane to UK with two friends right now and only last Wednesday we were discussing the things to to do in London, and now we are locked in our homes. How quickly things change.

It’s been crazy.

Travel agents have been terrible and have been robbing people with change fee policy when airline has clearly outlined free changes are allowed.

Airlines and agencies are not picking up calls.

This new requirement by Pakistan is basically a polite way of denying anyone in the country. They know very well that one cannot get a test done before 24 hours of flight & a private test costs nearly £400.

I’ve had to cancel ticket with Gulf last week and Qatar for this Sat. I won’t be going now. Lockdown in UK is inevitable.

I would still go if I can get that certificate sorted but it seems like an impossible task. I hope this does not last more then a month or so.

They are doing you a favour. Any idea of travelling abroad now is irresponsible if you can't provide those test results. Not just for those countries receiving a potential carrier, but also for you if you were hoping for a return flight anytime soon.

Its defiantly terrible, travel agents have just shut up shop and ran away even though airlines are refunding them, this is a joke.

Which travel agent you booked with is it from UK?
Not all Travel agents have closed & run away.
Alhumdulilah helping all those who have booked with me & giving full refund those that have been refunded from airlines.
Most of my bookings was Tours so have also refunded due to cancellations.

i booked through travelup, according to peoples tweets and FB they havnt been responding for 3 weeks now to anyone with people stuck aboard and airlines cant change ticket dates because they had locked them before running away.

Locals back home say that a decision may be changed in the next 4-5 days. Possible announcement this Friday. A lot of airlines have raised this concern with the embassies.

I get that they are doing us a favour. I also understand Pakistan may not have the resources to conduct checks at their airport but there should be flexibility for passengers with urgent travel ie Death in family, Parent on death bed etc. The requirement to do a test 24 hours before the journey is not possible in any way. Its a smart way of saying don’t come to Pakistan. I understand all of this, but there should have been a notice given in advance for this.

People should not come to Pakistan. It beyond me why people would want to travel at this time where decisions are being changed after every hour and the pathetic healthcare system of Pakistan.

I’ve booked flights with travelup also, not been able to get through to them at all. Airline suggest speak to travel agent and these guys appear to have disappeared. Only hope the UK govt announces some kind of refund package for air travellers in current situation as many people stuck with similar circumstances.

Interesting that flights are still heading out to Pakistan and people are still going.

Very risky.

Online Travel agents have been terrible, unfortunately they are cheaper then high st agents but when it comes to refunds, cancellation are terrible & charge you high.
That's the risk you take when you book with them.

At this point it's more risky for Pakistan to let UK residents inside the country.

My family were due to come next week but unfortunately my uncle said he can't go and as he was the main adult male, I have also cancelled. My little one is devastated as he has never been.

My family came back from Pakistan roughly two weeks ago and my 2 year old picked up some kind of virus on the way back and was sick with a 102 - 104 fever for 5 straight days. We were literally freaking out due to the threat of coronavirus, but lucklily it was something else. Still, she suffered for almost a week and had a very tough week. Please stay home and take care of your family in a very tough time that we all are facing these days. Take care everyone.

Good sensible decision, the lives of your family are most important. You can always visit Pakistan once this all blows over.

Most Airlines are giving options for date change or refund if your flights have been cancelled due to Coranavirus.
Unfortunately the online bookings made through skyscanner agents are either refusing to refund or charge you extra to change date.

Why do you need to travel at a time like this? Not only are you going to increase your chance of getting the virus, you will also increase the chance of spreading it aswell. STAY AT HOME! DEAL WITH IT FOR THE TIME BEING!

Well this is out of the question now since flights are suspended to the country atleast for the next two weeks, which might be extended as well.

Travelling to Pakistan during Covid-19 pandemic

Is anyone here planning to visit Pakistan during summer months?
I was thinking of going over Bakra Eid but there seem to be strict quarantine restrictions for international travellers, which defeat the purpose of a short visit:

Any updated info / recent travel experience is welcome.

https://www.geo.tv/latest/364007-pakistan-registers-slight-improvement-in-revised-us-travel-advisory

The travel advisory for Pakistan has been revised by the US State Department, moving the country up a notch, from level four to three.

Though the latest travel advisory still recommends US nationals "reconsider travel" to Pakistan, it notes that the security situation is better than that in 2014.

“Pakistan’s security environment has improved since 2014 when Pakistani security forces undertook concerted counter terrorist and counter militant operations.

"There are greater security resources and infrastructure in the major cities, particularly Islamabad, and security forces in these areas may be more readily able to respond to an emergency compared to other areas of the country. While threats still exist, terrorist attacks are rare in Islamabad,” reads the advisory.

The advisory warns of security threats persisting in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

“Terrorist attacks continue to happen across Pakistan, with most occurring in Balochistan and KPK, including the former FATA. Large-scale terrorist attacks have resulted in numerous casualties,” reads the advisory.

It also cautions against travelling to areas near the Line of Control.

Moreover, says that the US government has limited ability to provide US citizens in Pakistan with emergency services due to the security environment and travel by US government personnel within Pakistan is restricted.

"Travel by US government personnel within Pakistan is restricted, and additional restrictions on movements by US government personnel outside of US diplomatic facilities may occur at any time, depending on local circumstances and security conditions, which can change suddenly," reads the advisory.

It adds that the US Consulate General in Peshawar doesn’t provide any consular services to US citizens.

The advisory urges the citizens to remain aware of their surroundings and local events within Pakistan in addition to following further instructions given on the US State Department’s official website.

The aforementioned ease in restrictions is followed by Pakistan's National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf's 10 day visit to the US, where the NSA discussed peace and security situation in Pakistan and the region.

Apart from reminding its citizens about security concerns, the State Department has also conveyed caution regarding the COVID-19 situation in Pakistan, stating that "some areas have increased risk".

According to the travel advisory, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a Level 2 Travel Health Notice for Pakistan that indicates a moderate level of coronavirus outbreak in the country.

“Your risk of contracting COVID-19 and developing severe symptoms may be lower if you are fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine. Before planning any international travel, please review the CDC's specific recommendations for vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers,” the advisory states.

Visiting Pakistan and PCR Test

Does anyone know what age children are exempt from taking pre departure PCR test before travelling to Pakistan ? And secondly will the airlines allow children on the flight without negative PCR test.

Travelling from UK to Pakistan

Hello chaps!

I am looking to travel to Karachi from Birmingham / London in December and was looking for some advise please.

My default airline option was always PIA in the past because of direct flight.

I was wondering if anyone here has recently travelled on this route and which airline they have used and what the Covid requirements are.

Any sort of advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
