We always do well in u19 tourneys/matches so what happens when we put up a pcb eleven? Our domestic structure will not produce any technically proficient bats

oh sorry, i meant Mohammad Nawaz!

Fast bowler or spinner

He bats at no.6, not sure about his bowling style. But judging from the scorecard against SA he bowled in the middle overs and is probably a spinner, but not sure.

The Pakistani under 19 players don't look under 19.

Most of them look like they are in their 20's

Maybe I am wrong but they look so such older than the players from S.A and Zim

are you watching this match live and in person at the stadium, or you watching on tv and who is broadcasting it?

because babar azam, and usman qadir are very much u-19 and if they were in their mid 20's they would have played about 5 lots of a dozen first class games by now.

Mohd Nawaz is a spinner, i saw somewhere in last match that few of his wickets were "stumped".

The Age tests were done, only u19 players were selected, thats why we missed out on another top talent, Mohd Mohsin.

Does he look like 20+?

Pakistan won by 90 runs!

Pakistan 305
Zimbabwe 215

Yes thank you. The other guy in post 14 was just giving excuses and that is really unfair if he doesn't have any evidence.

So Nawaz is a spinner! Stupid stuff by Rawal Pindi for not playing him in the T20 domestic tornament. They needed a second spinner with Samiullah.

Sami Aslam seems a talented cricketer. We all know about Babar Azam. Babar needs to convert next game.

He's doing fine. 3 50s in 3 games, what more do you want? Two of them were 70+.

Lols what a reply. He said Babar needs to convert and that's a fair statement. He is getting 50s and he should try to convert them to hundreds and we back him to do that InshaAllah.

Ehsan Adil :

Cricinfo wrote he is "Fast" bowler (not Fast-Medium)

Also he comes to bat at 6 down, which means he could be handy batsman too.

He took 3 wickets today and most economical bowler today.

Need to be keep an eye upon him.

Lol before we start making threads about so and so player from this team should play in nationals, let me remind you that these are just u19 players who are still learning . They are not fully ready for nationals. Allot to learn right now.

If players are able to perform good on these u19 tours then i hope they win a contract from some domestic team in pak.

He said Babar 'needs' to convert, not he 'should' convert. People usually talk about converting if a batsman's making 20s or 30s. In test cricket, there is a valid point about converting 50s but if you're making consistent 50s in ODI cricket and your team is winning, there is nothing to worry about.

Yes he should obviously go for a century after making 50, but you can't say it's a major issue after 3 games.

The way he posted it seemed as though he was saying Sami Aslam has made a century so he is fine, whereas Babar needs to do that also. Whereas actually, Babar's been performing more consistently than Sami.

I hope some of the fast bowlers clock around 90 mph, that would be awesome! :akhtar

Ehsan Adil is potential speedster and cricinfo report said he's quick. :akhtar

Pakistan Under-19s registered their third win in as many matches in the Tri-Nation Under-19 tournament, beating Zimbabwe Under-19s by 90 runs in Franschhoek.

Pakistan chose to bat, and piled up 305 for 5 in their 50. The total was set up by a fine opening stand between Sami Aslam and Babar Azam: they both made scores in the 70s and strung together a 148-run stand in 26 overs. Umar Waheed built on the start, hitting 68 not out of 55 balls at the death.

Three of Zimbabwe's top five got starts in the chase, but could not carry on to make significant contributions - Ryan Burl was the top scorer with 40. Despite maintaining a brisk-scoring rate all through, the regular loss of wickets resulted in Zimbabwe being bowled out for 215 in the 41st over. Quick Ehsan Adil was the most economical and incisive of Pakistan's bowlers, taking 3 for 29. Waheed was named the Man of the Match.

i hope bentley becomes a full zimbabwe player in the years to come, pun galore for headline writers.

bentley breaks down
bentley drives zimbabwe to win
bentley drives for four
bentley escapes authorities
bentley races around to get the ball
bentley ..............

you get the idea :))

Although he is coming 6 down, but still no big batting inning from him.

But already coming 6 down shows that he has some batting capability.

Hopefully we are getting a real Fast bowling all rounder here.

6th Match: South Africa Under-19s v Pakistan Under-19s

South Africa Under-19s won the toss and elected to bat

Why have they started with commentary all of the sudden? Anyways, that's good :)

Pakistan conceeding too many wides here. Maybe it's swinging too much

Out of South Africa's 29 runs, 17 have been extras

If they continue in same manner they will give away 120 extras

5.3
Ehsan Adil to Bowes, no run, back of a lenght and moving away, he sholders arms

5.5
Ehsan Adil to Bowes, no run, cuts back and goes between bat and body, over the stumps, they appeal for a catch at the wicket

Usman Qadir to Cloete, 1 run, action reminiscent of Shahid Afridi, this one gets clipped fine leg

has usman qadir changed his action? afridi ki tarah to nahi tha action.

11.3
Usman Qadir to Bowes, no run, on the lofted off drive, off the toe of the bat, but DROPPED by Sami Aslam at mid on - don't come much easier than that

-We can safely say they are pakistanis :)

Can the mods please mark it in the heading that there are live ball-by-ball commentary available on cricinfo. Thanks.

South Africa going well at the moment. we need some wickets

Usman Qadir picks up his second wicket.

SA u19s 79/3 after 20 overs.

I have a quick question.. When I click on Fawad Khans name on cricinfo.com, his player page since that he 25+ years old... How the heck is he playing in the U19 tournament. Did he get some help. :ibutt

Also is this match being shown somewhere?

Where is the match being played & can some1 provide the link for cricinfo live commentary plz

Pakistan batsmen were bound to struggle ..... on these pitches, but still PCB should organize more such tours, its beneficial for the youngsters.

Thanks, but the score doesn't seem to be updating. Before, i had mobicast by plusmo ,their commentary was tops, very colourful & wasn't very delayed but don't know why it doesn't want to work now. Espn seems very complicated

Yeah but they have done well so far, winning all three matches quite comprehensively, two against Zimbabwe and one against SA.

67/4 after 16.5 overs.

I am disappointed with Babar , he is rated highly. He should be playing with more straighter bat. His aim should be playing Test cricket.

But this is the first match he has failed in, has three fifties prior to that. Should aim for hundreds of course, but no reason to be disappointed :yk

102/5 after 26.3 overs.

Hope these two can take us home. This is a real test of their temeperament.

This is what I was trying to say before you came in with 'lols what a post'

how come we have no genuine quick bowlers.

why so many bit player spinners in the team?

Zia Ul-Haq, Ehsan Adil and Azizullah are quick bowlers. But we should have one more as back-up at least.

Wait, the other guy you replied to said Babar needs to convert his fifties and that is a fair point. I have mentioned this in my post as well.

But the guy I replied to said he was disappointed and that is not a fair call. He should convert it to hundred, but we should not be disappointed.

So there are differences in the statements we replied to, so don't you try:azhar

Usman Qadir seems to be the Afridi of u19 team. He is a wicket-taking spinner and an attacking batsman.

Pakistan in deep trouble here:

157/7 after 35.1 overs. Usman needs to play a blinder here now. He is alrady on 31 from 23 balls.

Then I explained my reasoning in post 104. But you never replied. Oh well, it's a trivial issue. Let's just leave this here and move on :dav

Cricinfo says the target is 241. Other posts suggest 201. Who knows the real target?

What an effort by Usman Qadir. 50 not out from 32 balls. Let's see how far he can continue.

We have already lost this game. There is no other batsmen left to help Usman out there, and 60 runs required.

This team sucks. This team can only rely upon Sami Aslam and Babar Azam.

This is actually a good team. They are playing in these conditions for the first time and are doing really well. They have already won 3 matches and they haven't given up in this match either.

Haven't you seen performances of Umar Waheed? Haven't you seen what the bowlers have done? They are all contributing.

umar waheed is a good batsmen too. too many bits and pieces players. selection looks bad.

bloody stupid run out. whats rush when its less than a run a ball. match gifted to s.a...too many extras from pak too. some things never change with pak

There are just too many run-outs in this team. Need to work on that before WC.

48 runs needed. Come on boys!
