Sri Lanka require another 76 runs with 9 wickets and 37.3 overs remaining

Not an exaggeration to say that Namibia/Kenya would've put up a better performance than this.

Zimbabwe 154 v Sri Lanka 155/2 (24.3/50 ov)
Sri Lanka won by 8 wickets (with 153 balls remaining)

Zimbabwe are a done team. They had amazing talent coming up half a decade ago but Mugabe's govt has ruined any chances of Zimbabwe reaching even close to the level they were at.

Extremely disappointed at them losing talents like the Curran brothers, Jarvis, Taylor to England's County Cricket. A lot of their Under 19 guys just quit cricket overall.

On the plus side, however, Peter Moor looks to be an extremely decent player. I also like his patriotism since he could easily be getting a lot more money in even club cricket elsewhere.

Seriously hoping for Zimbabwe Cricket to improve because it is only better for World Cricket.

What makes you think he is patriotic ? What if he just didn't get any decent offer enough to quit Zimbabwe

I read about this on a Zimbabwe Cricket Forum. It's obviously not 100% but there was some article posted there which said that he had been offered to play for a club in the UK. Maybe for a second XI to some county team.

What a farce has Zimboks have become, Mughabe, the government and everyone related to the cricket board have been so bad.

To be honest, they have done better in Test Cricket as opposed to the shorter formats recently.

lol he went to Ireland for a year with the intention of playing for us. Did terribly in club cricket so returned to Zimbabwe. Two years ago he was all keen on representing Ireland.

Trust me, he gets a good offer, he'll go.

Yes, indeed, it was Ireland.

That's very disappointing to hear. Lol, and I actually thought he was keen on playing for Zimbabwe. Even an article on ESPNcricinfo the other day said that he was devoted to Zimbabwe. Anyway, point is, if they lose him, then they're surely done for.

How is the development of Irish cricket ? Any talented youngsters coming through ? Youngsters that actually love cricket ? Has schools started adding Cricket to the curriculum ? Do you guys have a developmental squad ?

Course he'll say that now that he's been selected, but if he gets a seriously good financial offer I cant see him staying.

Good in some parts of country, stagnant in others. Infrastructure is being developed to help the game and provide more facilities.

Yes, difficult to give them proper game time but Lorcan Tucker, Josh Little, Rory Anders, Barry McCarthy all good players.

Cricket is non existent in schools to my knowledge, in parts of the country there will be a team but vast majority no. CI have visited primary schools all over the country and got them playing with plastic equipment and stuff but transferring those kids into actual club members has proven difficult.

Yes, in the academy. One of the main goals we have, and struggles, is giving our development/reserve player proper fixtures to test themselves with. Apparently an A tour is in the works against a test nation next winter which will be desperately needed as we need a proper A program, why we've struggles lately. We have the players but they are being thrown in at the very deep end.
