LAHORE – At a time when dreams are about to come true, leaving them halfway demands plenty of courage, but a Pakistani Under 19 cricketer did not hesitate to put his career on the line for his brother.

Majid Khan, who belongs to Bajaur Agency, represented FATA in domestic cricket as an under-19 player during the year 2014 showed outstanding performance. He was being considered as the best upcoming all-rounder for the national team.

However, the talented young player preferred to give it all up when he decided to donate his kidney to his brother who was diagnosed with a chronic disease, reported Neo TV on Friday.

Respect.

Takes courage to make such a decision at such a young age.

Might be my ignorance here but how would giving up a kidney stop him becoming a professional cricketer?

Its seriously compromises a persons body efficiency. May not affect normal life but to be a top level cricketer every part of your body needs to be functioning perfectly.

Also , you are not supposed to exert your body for a long period after a kidney is removed, for the body to acclimatize . That practically takes away his best developing years as a cricketer.
.. Don't know the medical specifics.

This world is a temporary abode for us. What Majid has done will bring him rewards in the next - May ALLAH bless him with a great life in this world and hereafter, Ameen

this reminds me of a bollywood movie starring Anil Kapoor who was a promising soccer player but sold his kidney for sister's marriage; forgot the name of the movie

Insha Allah.

Wish someone could help him with having it back (obviously getting another for brother)

The alternative would have been to let his brother suffer. Most people couldn't live with that so he listened to the voice of his conscience.
