Yup, even their die hard defenders cant come up with excuses these days.
Yeah it was predictable that they would both fail but fully expecting Misbah to call Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq into the T20 squad to add "batting strength".... Maybe even Kamran Akmal!

This is unfortunately a horrible trait of misbahs
Instead of giving a couple of young guys a chance and finding out what they can offer hes wasted this series by playing it safe and bringing back "experience" just like he preferred back in his playing days
Theres no sense in playing 30 year olds who have been in and out of the team foe over a decade
Misbah really needs to show some imagination and sense in his selections and try to get over this fascination he has with "experienced" players who offer no output and no future or this will be a very torrid and short term for him

But somehow my gut feeling still is that if Umar Akmal and Shezad had capitalised against this weak SL attack in T20s ( and they may still do with one game left) - they would immediately get recalled for ODI and probably test squads also be it at the expense of Imam, Fakhar or Abid Ali. We’ve seen it all before, the chosen ones always get every opportunity to capitalise.
It won’t surprise me now that we get Sami Aslam recalled for the Aus tour to face the music, and if he doesn’t do well then immediately after Shezad and Hafeez are brought back for the Zimbabwe or Bangladesh tour after that (just guessing we will playing a minnow team to regain confidence after Aus)

Probably for Akmal, not spring chicken anymore. He's also getting fatter with time.
Shezad does not merit selection again, but he will be back.

This is what baffles me. that there are people still saying Shehzad is better than Imam...
Imam has just started in tests , with one away and one home series if remember correctly...
In ODIs how is shehzad better than Imam, i really dont know... Stats shows Imam is miles ahead compared to Shehzad... By the looks yes Shehzad is more handsome than imam but we are talking about selecting people for cricket not fashion show, even for that shehzad loses to Imam when keep mic infront of these two...

Pakistan got to no.1 without these two, so really irritating to see Misbah Select them for this series. How on earth can you even think of not playing Haris over these two?

Not in any format, the ship of cricket has sailed past these two. These two should try to start a business with the money they have earned , wise thing to do in my opinion which is good for the nation.

Lol at chosen ones. Reminds me of another 'chosen one' by our fans. He is also supposed to be the next big thing. His career will end like Umar Akmal's.

I think he could have played one out of the two in the last game. Shehzad would merit this more as he had made some runs compared to zilch from Akmal. He would have also not had the distraction of Akmal playing in the same eleven.
Okay, both are TTF’s, mediocre and so on etc. But the way these two got treated by Misbah was not right by turning the whole episode into a circus.
