Why there is a doubt in your mind? Fawad is in a different league as a player. He is even better than Asad,Azhar who has played a lot of test matches for Pakistan. He has been dropped as he has no favouritism in Pakistani cricket circuit. He would have surpassed Asad,Azhar by a country mile if he would have been given the chances he deserved. Some will come up with some rubbish argument about his batting style and they will continue. You know that Chanderpaal with almost similar batting style like Fawad had a very successful international careet. But in his very very short ODI and test career he has proven enough that he is better and he was supposed to improve his statistics a lot if he continued to play international cricket. When I think of him my heart becomes full of haters towards Pak establishments.

Umar Amin.

There is no doubt in my mind that he is a better batsman than what the numbers suggest. The only problem is the structure in which he had to make his way through, had he been in Australian, English or heck even Indian setup we would have been playing internationals by now regularly. I'm not saying that he is a world beater but he is better than Asad, Usman, Haris, etc that we have churned out recently.

Amin at u19 levels was comfortably better than his counterparts Umar Akmal, Ahmad Shahzad, etc. This was visible during the u19 championships.

Having said all of the above and followed his career relatively closely he is also to be blamed for not taking chances when they presented each other. His biggest chance he squashed were during his early days in cricket when he became prone to freak dismissals all the time. I believe that squashed his confidence and he didn't seem to recover from then. In any case he should continue his good run in domestics to stake a claim for internationals again.

A classic case of first class ******.

Malik was never a test player . Amin and Fawad should have got a run of games to prove themselves.

I never thought I would never rank fawad Alam higher than last in any list until this thread came up.
For me these three represent a list of players who should not be playing for Pakistan in any form of cricket.
But if talking tests the ranking would be:
Malik
Fawad Alam
Trump
Umar Amin

Is there a worse player than Umer amin who has represented Pakistan in all three formats ?

Yes, Fawad Alam

Fawad alam

First Class Avg 55.6
Test Avg 42
Oneday Avg 41
List A avg 49

Umer Amin

Test Avg 12
Oneday avg 18
First class 38
List A 35

Umer amin is not fit enough to tie shoe laces of Fawad Alam according to the stats mentioned above.Even Inidan bowlers have better record than Umer amin as a batsman.

They are both average cricketers and Alhamdulillah we don’t have either representing Pakistan right now.

Malik wasn't test cricket material whereas Umer Amin and Fawad Alam weren't given enough chances.

Amin has always been total garbage. People can say he had talent, but those same people want Shehzad and Umar Akmal in the team today. Playing international cricket requires more than just talent

No matter how much talent you have, cream always rises to the top. Hopefully we have seem the last of Amin

Don’t have stats to backup my claim but Malik seemed to be a decent test batsman in Asian conditions..

We have many players who can score in Asia. He could barely put bat on ball overseas which is frankly embrassing for a test match player.

Malik played a lot of Tests under Woolmer because Bob liked his all rounders in the side.

Razzaq and Afridi played a fair amount of Test cricket during that time too.

Fawad deserves a longer rope in Tests especially in Asian conditions where his spin playing ability could help.

People still crying over Umar Amin.

The guy hasn't even set alight the domestic scene (Not many have really) but Fawad has to be the one who missed out the most on not being given any chance at test level despite being made a scapegoat opener.

Doubt he will get a chance now being in the mid 30's as Usman Salahuddin and Saad Ali will get preference.

Umar Amin still has time on his side so he can still get a recall if he does well in domestics. Fawad Alam's case was bizzare, has a great first class average and never fared too badly in Tests, but I think that ship has sailed now as he is even struggling in FC last couple of seasons.
