Umesh Yadav Performance Watch

Yadav is a fighter and a genuine fast bowler, bowls with a lot of heart and passion! Respecto

Umesh's average speed today 144 with a top speed of 149

Ishant's avg speed 147 with a top speed of 152.2, the fastest he has bowled in his test career. In his first spell of 4-5 overs, was consistently around 150.

The competition with Yadav is making him bowl fast. Hope these two lads continue to bowl flat out.

Need that other kid Aaron to start competing with these 2, wow India wouldve have the fastest bowling attack in the world if everything goes well..

I dont care about speeds,,we should have the best attack, not fastest attack.wont care even if they dont touch 140 if the keep up picking wickets.

Ishant has clocked 150 in this match but hasnt looked threatening,so hardly useful

This is false. I watched all of today's play until Haddin came in. He was not consistently over 150 he bowled a couple over 150.

Unless you were watching some tricked up footage because otherwise you are making things up. Consistently over 150 my white ass.

Count the number of times he has beaten the bat. And that delivery to Clarke was a peach, How many times have we seen an Indian bowl a batsman with a 149 kmph thunderbolt.

Yes he could have been more consistent, but can't fault him for the effort. Matrh figures of 35-7-89-1 doesn;t quite tell you the impact he has had in the game. Worked over a well set Punter in the first innings, had Hussey all at sea in the second innings. Won't be long before he picks up a rich haul.

And listen to what Dada, Chappel, and the Channel 9 experts have to say about him. They all are saying he has been perhaps the best bowler for us bar his last spell today where he was wayward.

He was also the best bowler in England tour averaging 60+. Yadav picks up wickets, ZK causes enough problem and every batsmen tries avoiding him, PK or Aaron should be the other seamers. Ishant is as overrated as Bhajji. Ishant did bowl one good spell in England in 4 test matches, rest of the session he was garbage.

Lets not get carried away by Yadavs preformance so far, even Ajir agarkar had one decent test match in Australia with the ball in the past!

Wickets are wickets and he has a hatful in this test match. Well done to him.

umesh yadav is seriously impressive. much much better in tests than odi's. aaron is better in odis. and seriously quick to boot. time for cricinfo to update yadav's bowling style to right arm fast.

See these sort of stuff really confuses me regarding Fast and Fast-medium

Stuart Broad and Finn are described as medium fast, but Broad bowls 88 Mph average and effort ball is low 90's. Finn averages 90 and can touch 95's.

RP Singh is described as the same but he bowls about 20MPH slower than him. Yadav is slower than Finn but now described as Fast whilst Brett Lee who is also around same speed as Finn is described as fast.

Meanwhile Anderson who is a good 7-8Mph slower than Finn is also described as Fast-Medium.

He is good but giving away a lot of boundary balls .

He will be lethal if he curtail the boundary balls .

Akram rightly pointed out that he is not using the crease properly . If he uses it properly, will get at-least 3 KPH extra than his normal pace and that would be handy .

this guy looks like a real fast bowler i doubt he will lose his pace like ishant and the others

Must say he has quite a 'repeatable' action, so that should hold him in good stead in terms of injury concerns.

Very Steyn-esque action.

I never thought i'll see a day when 2 of our bowlers clock close to 150km/hr in tests.

It seems the Indian PHAAST bowler "disease" has already done Yadav in. He might still go on to pick some wicket but what happened India?

malcolm yadav is down in 135-140KM range. what the hell happened in one test match? a difference of 10 km/h ?

give the kid a break, this is only the second test he's playing away, still heaps better than overrated sharma

dhoni is ruining yadavs confidence, i know theres runs on the board but you have to back your strike bowlers to take wickets. if run rate is a worry, bowl ishant.

if your bowling with yadav, be more aggressive and accept he will give runs, but thats the price they will have to pay for a wicket.

i dont like how clearly dhonis struggling and no one is helping him.

Congratulations to Umesh, for getting his maiden century and the innings is not even over yet so expect more runs

Congrats Malcolm Yadav on your first century :D hope there are many more to come :yk

Funny, Pakistan have played 1 test match at home since 2007......you don't see anyone going easy on us.

Exactly. This Yadav guy was hyped up so much. Fair enough he showed promise when he bashed some minnows in India, but what is he doing now against quality opposition on friendly wickets?

Indians: Watch Amir's performance in Australia and compare it to this hack. Thats the difference between a Pak bowler and an Indian phaast bowler.

he's a poor man's sami, nothing special at all.

India should select him when they play minnows

So it took pathan a season or two to become a spinner..yadav did it after one series..must be a record?..where are all the indian trolls now?

The usual haters out in nos.he fails in 1 innings of a test and he becomes a flop.Lol.just lol.

8 wickets for 320 runs averaging 40/wicket ..nothing great

well its pretty normal for inidan bowlers..I think he's just reverting to type..will probably become good when hes around 32 and has a belly the size of zaheers!

unfair critism,, the poor kid had a bad 2 days ,, that will happend to all, even greats,

the likes of ashwin have been more un impressive to be honest being a spinner,

vaydev will bounce back soon at perth,

All Indian bowlers bowled 10kmph slower than they normally do.

The reason being, Indian bowlers did not want the ball to come on to the bat easily and wanted Aussies to put in effort to score.

Zak was bowling in lowe 120's (Prasad pace)
Ishant was bowling in high 130's
Yadav was bowling low 130's.

It was a deliberate ploy which failed anyways. Aussies scored freely.

Let me tell you one thing. The pitch is very flat and it is very easy to score now. The way Gambhir played in the beginning shows that. He smashed Pattinson and Hilfenhaus easily.

Sehwag gifted his wicket. Dravid's was a nice ball. Thats all.

First 5fer for Umesh, well done boy :14: :14:

May there be many more 5fers. Great come back from him today.

He will improve with experience. BCCI need to handle him properly and not let him down like they did with Sreesanth, Irfan and others. Don't let him play a lot of the shorter format...

I dunnooo, his pace is droppingggg quickly and he hasnt even reached the Indian player timeline for first 6 months before the reduction in PACE>..

good performance, not often u see middle stump of Ponying knocked back:)

I like his uncomplicated action and keep it simple "you miss I hit" strategy when bowling.

Was disappointed with him in Sydney. When conditions were bad, he dropped his pace. Conditions in Perth were a lot better and he stood out, but if he's only good in helpful conditions he's no better than Sreesanth or Praveen Kumar.

Something like the Great Waqar. No comparison.Just the mindset.Waqar would go for runs but he would pick up wickets.

It doesn't help if your captain makes him bowl to stupid fields. Dhoni was clueless at Sydney, made him bowl straight and he was going all over the pitch for runs.

He's one of the best finds for India.

Yadav is a great prospect, but what I cannot understand is what in the blue hell is Vinay Kumar doing playing test matches? Ishant too?

Why is Varun Aaron sat at home and these trundlers playing in his place? out of 1.2 billion people you would think India has more than just 1 Yadav lying around. Get these trundlers out and replace them with fearless and actual quick bowlers. Then you will start seeing a difference.

He took 7 wickets at Eden Gardens against WI.

The way he got ponting out, that was a beauty. Seriously he didn't get support from either Ishant or the specialist spinner Vinay Kommar. Yadav is my favorite subcontinental fast bowler. :akhtar

going at 8.27 at the moment not sure how he is bowling had a peek at cricinfo and Ponting seems to be clattering him all over
