So only around 5 29 year olds play for the two big north london clubs.
I have my suspicion but will obviously not mention it here

Someone on Twitter claimed it was Partey but it turned out to be fake news.

Actually I've had to re-check my sources again and I would be surprised if it wasn't Partey. It's not looking good. I hope I'm wrong.

He lives in the area the arrest was made.

Also reports he didnt travel to Germany with the team.

Whoever it is, it shows money is not always enough for some. Another sad day for English football.

If it does turn out to be him, what shocks me is that he just got married to a Moroccan and converted to Islam.

Could be false allegation. In this woke world , the police will arrest without any proof. Recently Ronaldo was pursued by someone in the states for a civil claim but was dismissed. Lets hope its not true.

It’s a lot worse for Ghana than it is for Arsenal!

Thomas Partey will be among the players omitted when Arsenal leave for a pre-season tour to the United States today.

To confirm, Partey is on the flight to the USA. He's most likely the player that is on bail, in which travel is permitted to fulfill professional commitments.

Arsenal’s position has been extraordinary.

Apparently they were aware of allegations against the player several months ago, but unlike the employers of a certain Icelandic player, they kept picking him.

Well he hasn't played for several months and was supposedly "injured"...

Please can you elaborate... what was extraordinary?

Premier League player questioned over three allegations of rape will not face action over one of them

A Premier League player arrested on suspicion of rape is no longer being investigated by police over one of the three alleged incidents.

The 29-year-old, who has not been named, was initially taken into custody earlier this month over an alleged attack in June.

He was then questioned over two further rape allegations against a different woman, one in April 2021 and one in June 2021.

The Metropolitan Police said on Thursday no further action will be taken over the June 2021 allegation but investigations continue into the other allegations.

His bail has now been extended to October.

In a statement the Met Police said: "No further action will be taken in relation to the offence in June 2021 but the investigation into the remaining offences is ongoing.

"The man was initially bailed until a date in August but his bail has since been extended to a date in early October."

On 13 July his club said the player, who denies the allegations, would not be suspended.

"We are aware of the allegations which are currently the subject of a police investigation," said the club, which has also not been named, in a statement at the time.

It's a weird situation for Ghana.

He was basically half of the team that qualified for the World Cup.

But now they are basically replacing the whole team with members of the Ghanaian overseas diaspora - the likes of Tariq Lamptey, Inaki Williams, Mohammed Salisu and the three young half-Germans will basically turn the team upside down.

Unlike the Mendy and Greenwood cases, where both were charged and importantly their names were mentioned in the press, this player has yet to be named and until very recently he wasn't actually charged with anything.

So Before the charge the club were right not to suspend the player as everyone is assumed innocent until proven guilty. However, a charge may now allow the club to suspend the player but even this could be legally challenged by the player. However the game is up if the name is made public.

The Premier League footballer under investigation for two alleged rape offences has had his bail further extended by the Metropolitan police.

The player was arrested on 4 July and bailed until early October, extended from an initial date in August. He has now been bailed again pending approval from a magistrates court, which is likely to confirm the duration of his new bail conditions within the next week.

The force confirmed in late July that no further action would be taken regarding an alleged offence committed by the player in June 2021, but that investigations into two other allegations would continue. He was initially arrested on suspicion of a rape against a woman that was alleged to have happened in June this year, subsequently being taken into custody and further arrested on suspicion of two incidents of rape, which were alleged to have taken place in April 2021 and June 2021 against a different woman.

The Guardian has previously reported that the player’s club was made aware of a rape allegation against him last autumn. That allegation was reported to the Met last August. In March the force opened an investigation into that and another alleged rape by the player of the same woman that she had reported in February.

The player, who is not being named for legal reasons, continued to play in his club’s first team last season and has also been a regular in the side in 2022-23. The club confirmed in July that it would select him until further notice and that he would not be suspended.
