I live in a country that was never supposed to be Islamic anyway - which is my problem. It was a country for Muslims but nowhere did it say it was ONLY for Muslims. Islam is a beautiful religion but should be kept away the constitution. Now when I say this, ignorant people like you (no offence) make out that I am a hater of Islam or want Pakistan to follow the ways of the West but the fact is, Islam is used a means to persecute people in the country and the blasphemy is one of the small but deep examples.
What this does in turn is harm the reputation of the religion and the country itself. Religion and the constitution should never be in synchronization because that only leads extremism and problems within the country. Sure, it looks good on paper but always turns out deadly for someone.
Also, you're giving the wrong example. This is not the culture of the country. It is not part of the culture of the country to vandalize Shia Mosques, temples, churches, Ahmedi mosques or Sikh temples. It is not culture of the country to target and throw stones at people celebrating Easter or Diwali or moaning in the month of Muharram. It has however become a tradition because of these stupid laws that exist. It promotes more extremism.
I never understand people like you who make themselves to sound so intellectual but never understand how one thing always leads to another. Have you ever wondered why Muslims being targeted in the USA has become a more common occurrence in the USA ever since Trump won the elections? Was it because Trump asked his supporters to target Muslims? No. But because he talked about Muslim bans, Hijab bans and what not which led the more conservative Americans to harm Muslims feeling more comfortable because such speeches and bans gave them more confidence and an idea of how they were doing the country of America a benefit and a service. This is exactly what happens when you include Islamic laws into the governance of the country, it gives these Aalims, priests and Molvi's to comfortably practice their extremism and openly targer anyone who in THEIR opinion is not right.
Another factor I find hilarious about your post is that you're comparing Desi's to the minorities of Pakistan. LOL. Desi's moved to these Western country's how long ago? 20 years, 30, 50 at most? Less than a century without a doubt. The minorities living in Pakistan have been here as long as anyone else has. They aren't expats from some other region. The country is as much theirs as anyone else's so your post lacks logic. There is a reason why the Pakistan flag has a white portion. If you want the country to be so "Islamic" then you might as well just make the entire flag green and change the name to Al Bakistan.
