[VIDEO] 2023 World Cup Final Presentation

I understand your sheer elation. You are happier than Australian fans because your own rubbish team is incapable of making you happy which is why you find happiness in other’s disappointment, but while you can celebrate, please don’t overdo it because it only causes embarrassment.

If Modi hadn’t shaken hands with Australian players or congratulated them, you would be criticizing him for not having any grace and not congratulating the Australians AKA our new Abbus.

But now that he congratulated our Abbus, we have to put a new spin on it to make him look bad. Please give it a rest.
I think you need to understand how rivalry works.

If lq was to beat kk and i suport IU, i will still celebrate it due to the punjab sindh rivalry. You cant decide who should celebrate what

The irony here is, some pakistanis can make India their abbu, while some of us are not allowed to make Australia our abbu. Atleast be neutral when having such an issue.

A suggestion for Indian organizers for future World Cups (they are co-hosts for 2026 World T20 and 2031 WC):

Accept the the fact there are other good teams too and they are perfectly capable of defeating India in India. So, don't get overconfident and plan final presentation better.

It was indeed embarrassing.

Modi should have said a word or two to Aussies and took some pics. Sore losers indeed. No 2 ways about it.

Looks like BCCI had massive plans for an Indian win and they did not know what to do when Aussies won. Shameful and cringeworthy stuff.

POTW for me. It was an absolute farce and the BCCI need to apologise for the way they handled this. It was such a subdued moment for the Aussies.

It was painful to watch Cummins with the trophy in his hand whilst he had to wait an age for his team mates to join him.

If the same thing happened in Gaddafi Stadium, I'm sure we wouldn't hear the end of it from Mamoon.
Gaddafi Stadium will never host a World Cup final again. Why not talk about a World Cup final in Gondor now that we are talking about high fantasy.

Modi literally shook hands and congratulated every Australian player but I don’t see anyone mentioning that. Clearly this wasn’t part of the script.
The thing is when the Trophy was presented, Modi should have stayed a few seconds for a few clicks. Not just walk away like he had to go to bathroom.

Poorly handled. But I doubt Aussies care.

Shambles of an event. The terrible organisation of the tournament was only bearable because of the high skills cricket by the SF teams and by Afghanistan

A better suggestion to India, NEVER politicise a sport!

This WC was reeking of RSS from start to finish.

But it's true though isn't it? If this happened in Pakistan, you'd be blasting and mocking the Pakistanis for how they handled it.

Even Indian supporters on here have acknowledged that this was poor but you decide to divert the focus of this matter on Cummins' trophy lifting skills?

What does that say about you? Why are you so bitter about India's loss?

You criticise Major for his severe bias but it sounds like you need to take your own advice.

If he had done that, would be claiming that he decided to steal the limelight

But it cannot happen in Pakistan.

I am over the moon to read the Western media today - they have the same opinions and feelings as that of Pakistan fans towards Indian cricket, its fans, and Modi's laughable attempts to politicise this WC.

This is why the Indian sycophants will not address the key points raised and desperately try to steer the post WC narrative towards Rizwan and Babar!

Yeah it was odd everyone looked visibly upset, sounded it too ravi shastri. To be fair they started getting down in commentary you could hear it in their voices. And it was awkward Cummins waiting for his team with his trophy for a min whilst fireworks going off in the back. The memory of this loss will live on for the ages.

This thread is an absolute gold if someone ever needs to see an example of the noveau rich village level behavior of BCCI. Their pettiness, lack of class always get exposed in times like this. Thats why BCCI is cancer to world cricket and this disorganized worldcup is another feather in the cap.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi consoled the Indian players, including captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli, after India lost the mega World Cup final to Australia on Sunday. The Prime Minister, who was in Ahmedabad to watch the match, visited the dressing room after the heartbreaking loss.

The Indian skipper was seen crying while walking out of the field after losing the clash. The mood was also somber in the dressing room. The Prime Minister visited the dressing room and comforted the players. He was seen holding the hands of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. PM Modi also met Indian head coach Rahul Dravid.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Home Minister Amit Shah in the dressing room of Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. PM Modi penned a heartfelt message to the team, saying that the entire country is proud of India's campaign in the World Cup and that they stood by the team in the difficult moment.

"Dear Team India, Your talent and determination through the World Cup were noteworthy. You've played with great spirit and brought immense pride to the nation. We stand with you today and always," he said in a social media post, while also congratulating the Australian team for their heroics at one of the biggest stages of world cricket.

Earlier in the day, Indian pacer Mohammed Shami shared a picture of him with PM Modi. "Unfortunately, yesterday was not our day. I would like to thank all Indians for supporting our team and me throughout the tournament. Thankful to PM @narendramodi for specially coming to the dressing room and raising our spirits. We will bounce back!" he wrote on X.

I mean how bad does this look?

As an Indian fan, my apologies to Cummins & Australian cricket team for such a pathetic behavior.
