Many US newspapers including the Washington Post have dropped the long-running Dilbert cartoon strip after its creator made racist comments.

In a video on YouTube, Scott Adams, who is white, said black Americans were part of a "hate group" and that white people should "get the hell away" from them.

Mr Adams, 65, later acknowledged that his career was destroyed.

He said most of his income would be gone by next week.

Dilbert has been a mainstay of the funny pages of America's newspapers, and features a put-upon office worker and a talking dog, who together take aim at the fads of corporate culture.

Among those media outlets that have dropped the Dilbert cartoon strip are the USA Today network, which operates dozens of newspapers, and the Los Angeles Times.

The Washington Post said Mr Adams' remarks promoted segregation.

His comments were made in response to a survey in which people were asked to agree or disagree with the phrase: "It's OK to be white."

The phrase is believed to have emerged in 2017 as a trolling campaign and has since been used by white supremacists.

According to the poll, 53% of black respondents agreed with the statement, but 26% disagreed and others were not sure.

Mr Adams said that those that disagreed were a "hate group".

"I would say, based on the current way things are going, the best advice I would give to white people is to get the hell away from black people… because there is no fixing this," he said.

Darrin Bell, a Pulitzer Prize-winning Black cartoonist, described Mr Adams as a disgrace.

Dilbert - which is written and illustrated by Mr Adams - was first published in 1989.

Many newspapers in the United States have decided to no longer publish the popular “Dilbert” comic strip after its creator posted a racist video earlier this week calling Black people a “hate group”.

Scott Adams, who rose to fame in the 1990s with his satirical take on white-collar office life, has increasingly stoked controversy with his views on social issues.

But in a video posted on Wednesday, Adams took issue with a recent poll conducted by conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports, whose results show that a small majority of Black respondents agreed with the statement “It’s okay to be white”.

“That’s a hate group and I don’t want anything to do with it,” said Adams. “Based on the current way things are going, the best advice I would give to white people is to get the hell away from Black people.”

In another episode of his online show on Saturday, Adams said he had been making a point that “everyone should be treated as an individual” without discrimination.

“But you should also avoid any group that doesn’t respect you, even if there are people within the group who are fine,” Adams said.

There are many blended black and white families. Black culture in UK has enriched British culture - music, fashion, cuisine.

from what i know its kinda a play on all lives matter, so originally used by trolls to try to rile the left. but take the question on its obvious meaning, what do u gain from answering no, as opposed to refusing to answer the survey.

The same media had no problem when a reported was hired and these are her tweets, they accept racism as long as it is against whites.

One of the tweets said: “oh man it’s kind of sick how much joy i get out of being cruel to old white men”. Another read “are white people genetically predisposed to burn faster in the sun, thus logically being only fit to live underground like groveling goblins”.

The Times has decided to allow Jeong to stay in the role but in a statement said that it does not condone her language, saying it was not acceptable at the Times.

There are inequalities in justice provision and also education and health. If you read me you will see me point these out in detail. Good people who have understanding are trying to close these gaps.

You might argue that is because the lower castes do more manual work in the sun, but end result is the same. Darker people in the subcontinent are looked down on, although ironically India actually has a large proportion of dark skinned people.

The most successful nations of recent history have been multicultural. Why would we listen to the racist ramblings of someone sat in a ramshackle third world country telling us otherwise?

This is ignoring the reality that some of the most successful countries like those you mentioned, Aus, NZ and USA, all became massively successful precisely because they didn't stay in their own lands. In fact they more or less wiped out the inhabitants of those countries where people had been staying in their own lands.
