[VIDEO] Dr. Nauman Niaz to serve a defamation notice to Shoaib Akhtar

While i find it funny how Nauman used to say ******** and insult players and now when he is facing something similar he has started to cry.

What Akhtar said was poor. Nauman was his friend, yes there relationship has broken down but it doenst mean Akhtar should go around insulting him. Akhtar when was a nobody used to have Nauman to drive him around who had a car at the time.

At the same time, Nauman should also self reflect, how he insulted other players over the year, when he made such stupid comments about them

I don't think he is serious about suing Shoaib. It seems he just wants to bring his own praise into the public domain and is hoping he can scare Shoaib into accepting.
 
I saw a clip on YouTube where Nauman kicked out Shoaib Akthar from the show.

Seems like these two really dislike each other.
 
How can you sue someone for dissing, insulting you. The person being sued can easily make the defence I was giving my opinion or doing banter in a light hearted manner.

If people were allowed to sue another person just for a diss, insult, everyone would be suing everyone on a daily basis.

Nothing will come off this. If Taffazul Rizvi being a high ranking supreme Court level advocate could not get Shoaib to apologize, Nauman will not get anywhere either.

I remember some ceremony where Nawaz Shareef was present and Nauman Niaz was the presenter on stage. He narrated a story of how Nawaz Shareef once took on Windies fast bowlers of 80s :sharif . Few years later PTI came to power and Nauman used to do so much khushamad of IK on PTV. :ik2

But the moment he is not friends with you, he will say the most pathetic thing.

Shoaib has never talked about being down to earth and neither do his fans consider him down to earth. His brash aggressive fowl mouth nature is the reason why he is in high demand with broadcasters.

Ptv sports or these digital platforms are not top broadcasters.

You wont see him get invited on Sky, or any proper foreign cricket show. Heck, even a sports pavilion dont consider him good enough.

He shares spot with sohail tanvir and roha nadeem who herself is a terrible host.

And you need to watch more on akhtar, he loves to pretend that he is down to earth. Even in his book he goes on about how he helped xyz from his earlier days just to show himself as a humble guy.

You are spot on.

For someone who talks about being able to build brands his ceiling seems to be low budget shows in Pakistan.

He is the fastest bowler in history but can't even secure a random mentorship or coaching gig in one of the many franchise leagues and has never been called upon as a pundit or commentator.
 
Nauman Niaz’s career basically plummeted after the spat with Shoaib Akhtar

He and Rashid Latif have since quietly been going a different route trying to change the narrative to support Babar and Rizwan’s nonsense with stupid agendas. The surrogate companies thing is something they have tried to normalise, as if it’s surrogate companies being the reason why RizBar look like crap T20 openers in the first place, and not actual cricket.

They also have been going after players who play in RizBar’s positions. Guys like Kamran Ghulam, Sahibzada, Saim, Nawaz, Harris etc have all been on their radar.

I’m sick and tired of these two running agendas to save Babar and Rizwan, and also their agency!

These are horrible people- no dignity or decorum. You can strong views in the media about cricket without personal attacks. This isn't like politics where people are being kidnapped and killed and getting personal is often inevitable

This is next level stuff W.G Grace would be proud of.

But my favourite is the 40-0 is better than 66-1 in T20s. He said this in 2022. I think he perceives Pakistan cricket to be in the same category as Somalia and Iceland

I would personally go with the Misbah > Inzamam in ODIs closely followed by Joginder Sharma was a more impactful bowler than Shoaib. Mods shouldn't allow this kind of cricketing blasphemy :ROFLMAO:
 
I was at Islamabad Club for a hi-tea a couple of months ago, and Shoaib Akhtar was sitting just a few yards away from us, watching the polo match. My brother went over to say hi and had the bright idea of bringing up Nauman Niaz since he lives in the same neighborhood as us and my brother had seen them on TV together a few times, I guess.

What my brother didn’t know was that they’d had a very public spat on TV.

Shoaib Akhtar just went, “Who’s that? I don’t know the guy.” :ROFLMAO:

There is a PTV episode where Dr Nauman Niaz is hosting pundits including Glenn Macgrath and Dr Nauman Niaz goes on to introduce Mcgrath where he gets upset and corrects Dr Niaz live (on air) and you can see from the expressions on Mcgrath's face that he is not best pleased.

The language in the letters has the same cringe flowery rhetoric which Dr Niaz was using to praise Glenn Mcgrath which Mcgrath objected to, I wish I could find that clip on YouTube
 
I know I’m in the minority here, but Akhtar has been the clown in this whole episode.

In the segment where Nauman Niaz apparently “disrespected” Akhtar, most people have failed to see how it was Akhtar who was being rude to the host first. Akhtar was the one who said “at least someone came prepared to the show” to the host and seemed to have snarky attitude throughout. Finally, Nauman Niaz had had enough and told him to leave if we were to keep up that attitude.

I also absolutely hate the holier than thou attitude that Akhtar adopted since this whole fiasco. Saying that Nauman Niaz is fighting against Gods will because God gave him more fame and that Nauman Niaz was jealous. In the same breath he says that he’s forgiven him and then 2 days later goes on to say that he’s “jaali doctor” who was hired to pick up players’ bags.

Akhtar cannot carry this bigger man personality as he is extremely petty and hasn’t been able to let go of any chance to insult Nauman Niaz. He’s also tried to make it seem as if he is way too big to pick a fight with and it’s almost blasphemous to say anything to him. Who does he think he is?

Nauman Niaz in himself is an extremely annoying character but if we are to stay on topic, Akhtar is in the wrong here.

I am I’m not wrong, Nauman hasn’t said a word about this fiasco since it happened. He hasn’t taken shots at Akhtar and has maintained silence - that’s commendable.

Same cannot be said of Akhtar and I think Nauman has had enough.
 
Both are egoistic clowns who can get narcissistic injury at the hint of slight criticism, Shoaib going to get away with it because of his star power
 
If Taffazul Rizvi a Supreme Court Advocate level lawyer was unsuccessful in suing Shoaib, what chances does Dr Nauman Niaz have? Sure Dr Nauman Niaz has powerful links in the Pakistani army but so does Shoaib therefore nothing will happen. Shoaib got both Dr Nauman and Rashid Latif fired from PTV as part of the deal over rejoining PTV.

His biggest mistake was disrespecting Shoaib on live TV infront numerous former cricketers like Viv and David Gower. Shoaib is right to hold a grudge. Especially when we all know that the only reason Nauman even tried to make up with Shoaib was because people were going after him on social media.

Even his apology was less of an apology and more of a justification of his obviously unprofessional behavior. From what I recall, he said something along the lines of "Oh, I thought PTV was being disrespected." What made you the gatekeeper of PTV?

Nauman Niaz has always tried to get in with cricketers and be part of the 'club'...probably because he couldn't be one himself. So you know that 'kit boy' comment hit him right in the gut.
 
In Pakistan, there is a delusion among a lot of journalists, TV anchors and even a lot of mediocre ex cricketers that they’re celebrities just because they cover cricket, come on TV and happen to be have a following. Little do they know the following is merely a consequence of them being associated with cricket but they are no celebrities of any kind in real and their opinions do not carry any weight in the cricketing world.

Dr Nauman is a cricket obsessed individual a lot of us. He’s a cricket historian rather and his knowledge of cricket history is very deep. I respect that and I have in the past watched his show many times but I could not help but notice in the last many years he’s been slowing turning into a toxic narcissist. What he did with Shoaib couple of years ago was totally unacceptable. Shoaib is a superstar ex cricketers and a Pakistani national hero in a way. You cannot disrespect him like that on air live in front of the whole international cricketing community. I’m surprised he got away with it to continue covering cricket apparently thanks to connections which can only happen in Pakistan.

Dr Nuaman Niaz comes across as a "Brown Saheb" who went to elite schools and wants to project himself. My English teacher in School was a Bihari educated by the British and was forever talking about the "British", it was fascinating as a child but now I think of it as cringe.

I’m more interested in the legal aspect of the defamation case. I can’t understand how NN expects to win a defamation case against SA on the basis of a claim that NN was basically the bag carrier of the side?

I’ve pointed it out so many times here. From a factual pov, all SA has to do is prove that Nauman used to carry his bags. That’s it, case closed!

In Pakistan, elections get stolen so no idea how this will run but in a balanced judicial system you are right that this won't even be a case!

His relatives or friends might stop inviting him to their homes after knowing he was just a servant in the Pakistan team back in the day.

He was better served just having an online Twitter spat with Shoaib Akhtar.

According to Shoaib, Nauman used his friendship with Fawad Chaudhry to force Shoaib to reconcile with Nauman otherwise Shoaib wanted nothing to do with Dr Nauman or PTV Sports after that episode.
