Not far off from Lolong the largest ever croc in captivity (bit over one ton/20 ft). Monsta! Crocs are so awesome.

i assume it's a fresh water one? that's massive for a fresh water one.

and why did they release it back into a river?

What is more scary is the people surrounding it with caution thrown to the wind.

It's pretty old and frail by the looks of it. Amazing creature hope they look after it.

That's where it has been living all these years champ. So what's the problem :))

Largest crocs ever recorded. Absolute monstas.

1). Lolong (6.17 meters/20 feet 3 in) Philippines - dead
2). Dominator (6.1 meters/20 feet) Australia - still alive
3). Gustave (~6 meters/19.68 feet) Burundi - unknown, most likely still alive
4). Bujang Senang (5.88 meters/19 feet 3 inches) Borneo - dead
5). Brutus (5.60 meters/18 feet 4 in) Australia - still alive
6). Yai (5.5 meters/18 feet) Thailand - still alive
7). Utan (5.5 meters/18 feet) Thailand - still alive
8). Cassius (5.48 meters/17 feet 11 in) Australia - still alive
9). Gomek (5.42 meters/17.8 feet) Papua New Guinea - dead
10). Puento Noire Crocodile (5.40 meters/17.71 feet) Republic of Congo - dead

And to imagine this croc would still be considered small compared to its ancestors

the only problem is that another town will now capture it again when it comes near their town or it'll eat livestock or god forbid a child and it'll get killed.

there are plenty of non connected lakes in the wild life reserves.

it seems the croc ended up in the village cos the river flooded. maybe if the croc sticks to the river it'll be okay.

:13:

Yeah it would have been great if it could have been released into a wildlife reserve but I'm glad that they didn't just kill it. It was apparently stuck in a canal leading off the Nilwala river in Matara. Are there any wildlife reserves around that area. From what I could make out they say it's around 60 years old.
