Mcgrath for me. He was not only better but more enjoyable to watch. The way he was working out batsmen was fun to watch. The simple seam position, mild swing to get the edge and his mind games with the batsmen were a lot of fun to see.
Wasim was very talented but he doesnt work out the batsmen the way Mcgrath did. He was more fancy with swing and reverse swings and it gets some people excited but once you have been watching cricket for long enough and understand simple nuances in bowling, you will find Mcgrath more entertaining.

Bowling a testing line and length every ball is as much a skill as anything else..

McGrath was more successful and was better in keeping to his skill set and getting wickets..

Wasim however had more variety and had the ability to produce a wicket taking delivery anytime.. He was not as consistent in his line and length than McGrath but was better to watch..

As a viewer I would take Wasim over McGrath.. IMO Wasim is second best bowler to watch first one being Shoaib Akhtar in full flow..

Wasim to win a match, McGrath to win a tournament. I'd build my bowling around McGrath as he makes every other bowling partner more potent with the line-and-length he bowls on one end.

So did Akram. Tough call for me, McGrath probably edged it on bowling intelligence and control, but then Wasim was far more explosive and could be as effective with the old ball as the new one. I'm not sure McGrath would be much use on Asian pitches once the shine had gone.

I have heard interviews where McGrath says that all the movement was just natural variation. He just tried to get it in the same spot most of the time. Of course, he could also work batsmen out very well, but Akram was a genius at that stuff and had much more control over his variations, so he was the more thinking bowler.

McGrath because Wasim had either Waqar or Imran on the other side and Mcgrath had Bret Lee(unpredictable) or Tom Moody(right!) Felming,Gillespie.
But Wasim had a lot of energy and was defn better at batting and amazing on the field.

I think, as has already been said, the fielders I think are more important than the bowlers they had by them. So many catches were spilt off Wasim. I would love to have some stats on these.
