Stays not out on 80 (55) - good knock but should he have scored more?
Leading run-scorer now in the National T20 Cup.
But many are still unconvinced about his ability in T20s.
Another one who has been completely hard done by the selectors. This guy should never have been dropped from ODIs and even Tests. He is the best opener in Pakistan but his Inzi connection hurts him.
With regards to his refusal to take a single in order to get to his century, I have no problems with that. People will say that's bad attitude, but I see it as a positive one. He's hungry for runs and milestones. It's stupid to suggest that he will do the same thing in Pakistan colours as well. In order to get back his place in Pakistan team, he needs to be selfish. Being a team player is fine, but that sort of altruism will only hurt you. He understands that and I like that about him.

Hard done by selectors? Connection with Inzi hurts him? He still would not have played a match for Pakistan if it wasn't for chaachoo.
Best test opener in Pakistan? If the best in the country averages 25 after 11 tests we're in a very dark time.
Your second paragraph encompasses what is wrong with Pakistan cricket.
Imam is an arrogant narcissist! Watch delivery 19.3 against South Punjab and he was half way down the pitch to pinch strike and the ball went for 4.
Instead of being a team player and appreciating what Kashif Bhatti did, he slams his bat in frustration that he isn't on strike.
Ofcourse his connection with Inzi hurts him. Everytime he gets out for a low score, people scream Parchi. The amount of pressure that he regularly plays under is incredible.
His average is low, granted but he has the ability to be at least a 40 average test batsman. What was Babar's average in his first 10 matches? In Pakistan you're a victim of circumstances. Abid Ali comes and plays his matches against a cannon fodder team like Sri Lanka at home and suddenly he gets the nod of approval. If the roles were reversed and Imam played against SL at home, people here would be saying how bad Abid is.
I'm not saying Imam is a world beater, but he is still far ahead of any opener right now in Pakistan. We saw how hopeless Abid Ali looked in England. And the 60 he made, he probably gave 4 chances. Shan masood, 1 century and then rest of the series looked like a taileender.
He can be cover for Babar in T20i’s , I liked his brashness @ the start but he’s a bit cringe with some of his statements & has to learn to be a team player & keep his emotions in check & answer questions with simplicity & not big statements lol
He’s not a t20i player but in the absence of Fakhar, he should be opening for us. Abdullah is not suited to the format.

And imaam is suited to t20s abdullah is a level above imaam in t20s
, Abdullah is 3 level above than this tuk tuk
Well I said Imam is not a T20 player but he has been decent at the international level against good bowlers so given the lack of options, he should be playing. Abdullah looks a good prospect, but he is also not a T20 player. On their best days, Imam and Abdullah will give you similar innings - 70 from 45-50 balls. Pretty good especially for our standards. However out of the two Imam is more proven so I’d pick him. Abdullah should play ODIs for the time being.
Ah yes, tuktuk who scored more runs than Abdullah in the recent national T20 tournament they played, in less innings .... at a strike rate of 144 vs 133 for Abdullah.
Wow Abdullah really must be three levels above.
Seriously the hate for Imam is ridiculous
Imaam strike rate is 124 in domestic i belive
Abdulllah scored 58 ball century that was his best day not 70 from 50 whats imaam best state in t20s in terms of balls and runs ?.abdullah played at different positions in the line up were imaam played right at the top he has a issue of getting to good starts but then after powerplay he lacks singles and doubles and puts preesure on himself
Imam was a limited but stodgy batsman when he made his debut. There is no doubt his range of shots and in particular his strike rate has improved over the past year or so. In the 2019 PSL he played regularly and scored at 130. By the national t20 this year (albeit a lower standard tournament) he has improved that to 144 which, considering the amount of runs he scored is brilliant.
As such, you cannot compare his overall stats. Look at his current game and compare it to Abdullah, not that they should be compared.
Imam scored 94 of 54 against the same team a few days later. Identical strike rate and a matter of a few runs. In the rest of the tournament, Imam was much better. Point is, the people claiming there is a gulf of quality difference between the two either hate Imam or are hyping up Abdullah.

Imams PSL team saw sense and stopped picking him after a few games. selfish snail like batting benefits no one in white ball cricket whether it be T20s or ODIs.
Peshawar Zalmi could see it but PCB can’t. He should be nowhere near the LOI teams.
The frustrating thing is that Peshawar dropped him from the team but will then retain him for the next PSL and they’ll end up dropping him again.

Balochistan captain Imam-ul-Haq has been admitted to the hospital after getting an injury during the game against Southern Punjab earlier today.
While trying to keep the ball inside the rope, Imam put in a despairing dive but ended up bumping with the advertising hoardings.
The southpaw was taken on a stretcher after getting medical attention on the field.
According to details, Imam has got scratches on the rib cage and has been taken to the hospital for further x-rays.

Imam misses out on selection at PSL7, despite uncle Inzi being at Zalmi.
I must admit, I thought he's be one of those players who somehow gets into a PSL squad each year without offering much or doing anything.
He has done wonderfully well in the ODIs for Pakistan. He has compact game, he is consistent, has very good average in ODIs with pretty decent SR . His record in T20s is good with 33 average and decent SR. I m sure he will improve his T20 game once he is given a run on the side.
This fellow would have outclassed Masood,Ifti, Haider,Haris, Khushdil easily.
I think Pakistan can try him at number 3.

I knew the consequences of writing this thread.
Most people will just bash my point and laugh. But I shall still stand by my point on Imam.
Imam could have made a difference has he been picked in this world cup.
Pakistan doesn't have any proper and consistent hitter as it is evident, has got few hacks with tailender like batting style who are considered as hitters among Pakistanis.
Pakistan does have a chance to win even if they score 150-160 because of their bowling. Today's match was another example. Pakistan needs Babar,Rizwan at the top and another batsman like them at number 3 and 4 . Many want replacement of either Babar or Rizwan at the top. But I think it will only bring disaster for the team. Any team should decide on basis of their resources and limitations, not ride on generalized ideas.
Pakistanis should admit and realize that there isn't any hitter even one third as good as QD cok, Buttelr, SKY, Pandya, Hales, Warner in Pakistan side. Their only chance to win is back a batting order who can post or chase 150 on pitches like Melbourne and 170 on pitches like Adelaide. Their bowling will do the rest.
