Of all the years of watching cricket, the almost late cut at 1:00 by Miandad against Donald in my book is the greatest cricket shot ever played. He had pre-determined where the gap was, as was his method. He had to find that gap against a 145+ World top 3 bowler in split second.

What I love about this stroke is that it is a classic cricket shot, not an invention like a scoop, reverse sweep or helicopter. It's just played in a different condition i.e. against a fast bowler, not a spinner. A bit of a personal bias for traditions.

Any others?

I think I have seen better shots. :inti

- Inzamam's down the ground straight six in Sharjah.
- Sangakara's cover drive.
- Saeed Anwar's drives.
- Mark Waugh's drives.
- And more.

In terms of skill needed, execution and the moment, nothing I have seen beats Kohli's 6 against Rauf.

Dhoni's no-look six against NZ and his IPL helicopter six to the Malinga yorker are others I remember fondly.

Wonderful majestic shot no doubt.

But nobody can establish any shot as greatest ever.

The shot that has had the most impact for Pakistan was the six by Javed on the last ball of the match against Chetan Sharma.

Moin Khan's six to end the 92' semi final is one of my personal favorite shots. There's one shot from Imran where he just upper cut a furious Holding which I really like too because that shot is way ahead of its time.

Gayle, Ponting, Damien Martyn, M. Waugh, Saeed, Yuvraj, Azhar Mehmood & Kyle Myers, etc. have all played some shots that have made me go woah. Even Babar has played some really breathtaking shots but it's an ability that seems to have escaped him in the present.

even though it was a brutal loss for us, the kohli straight six against Rauf in a extreme pressure situation was just beautiful. Great balance, fitness and strength required to play it so well.

pure timing to caress a six off a low 70 mph dibbly dobbly bowler, there is no greater example of timing on the internet. haters can disagree, i aint gonna listen.
