Khurram Manzoor fined for obscene gesture, foul language

KARACHI: Pakistan Test cricketer Khurram Manzoor was fined 50% of his match fee for violating the disciplinary code of the Pakistan Cricket Board by using immoral words and making offensive gestures towards Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) bowler Zafar Gohar during the match between Sindh and KPK in the ongoing Pakistan Cup at the Rawalpindi Stadium on Tuesday.

Manzoor who is representing Sindh in the Pakistan Cup made these gestures and used immoral words towards KPK bowler Gohar after he scored the fastest century of the domestic 50-over tournament.

He scored an unbeaten knock of 118 runs off 61 balls while he reached the century mark off just 56 deliveries.

Gohar who also used some immoral words was also given warning by the umpires while Manzoor has been fined 50% of his match fees after reviewing the match between KPK and Sindh which the latter won by eight wickets.

The field umpires were Rashid Riaz and Riazuddin while the TV umpire was Khalid Mahmood and match referee was Javed Malik.

“The players who violate rules of discipline will have to face the fine. There is no space of any player to violate rules,” said Malik.

Fight aside, Khurram Manzoor should have taken the opening slot for Tests/ODIs post-Butt (2010).

On a side note, I'm glad Khurram doesn't have the same egregious technique he had when he first debuted for Pakistan.

Is this being played in Pakistan? The stadium is empty.

Yeah. Rawalpindi usually has pathetic crowds. Red Devil

Last year the tournament was held in Faisalabad and it used to be packed.

People of Pindi have really high standards, we don't have time for jobber tournaments like these.:farhat
