First T20I against Australia - Looked a little rushed by the faster pitch, didn't really look comfortable during the course of the innings. Has to adjust quickly...

I don't think this was a fast pitch. Light years of a difference between how Babar adjusted to this spongy wicket, and Rizwan's ineptitude.First T20I against Australia - Looked a little rushed by the faster pitch, didn't really look comfortable during the course of the innings. He's awful and not cut out to face top international attacks, but he's slightly less awful than Sarfraz which is why he's there.
He needs to open in ODI cricket, use the powerplay well. Babar and Haris bat 3 and 4, and he will be a disaster at 5.
Or Babar Azam to open, Rizwan at 3. He can't bat lower than that
He can't play T20 cricket
Excellent points made. We should have a different keeper for T20s and in ODIs he should bat in top 4 as his game is more suited to building inns then been destructive.
Big upgrade over Sarfraz, who would've ensured that we're 10/3 today.
Doesn’t seem like a T20 player, he is fine for ODIs and test but need someone else for the shortest format. Do we have any big hitting keeper batsman in domestics?
After playing around a dozen games Rizwan’s T20I Strike Rate is under 100 and the average is under 20. Sarfaraz is out of form and deserved to be dropped but I don’t think Rizwan is an upgrade at all at least in LOIs.
I have a feeling after a few series, people here would be calling for Sarfaraz to be selected again.
Rizwan won't get the chance to bat in top 4 in ODIs. We play too many top order players who can't play T20s already. 5 is highest he can play.
If he can't succeed in T20s in the long run, doubt he'll be able to succeed at 5 in ODIs either.
Give him time, wicketkeepers take time to acclimatise to international cricket, more so than other players often. He still might come good in both formats. He'll either come good in both T20s and ODIs or neither I feel, when you bat at 5 in ODIs you've got to have that ability to play shots and keep up with the SR anyway, you don't have that time to build innings always.
This is why though I would have kept Sarfraz in T20. You would have had a experienced captain, good T20 record, good PSL record. Rizwan on the other hand doesn't succeed even in PSL, and likely won't be ready by the next T20 world cup. I would have kept Sarfraz around till T20 world cup, then sacked him once it was over. Then we could have given Rizwan a long proper run with less pressure.
He is okay for the number 4 spot and is equally god against spin and pace.If he can increase his strike rate he can be an asset for us.
One last chance for him in the 3rd T20I, if he fails then he should replaced with either Bismillah or Rohail. He should be retained in the ODI format though.
This was expected. The other flaw in his batting beyond being strokeless to fast bowling is that he tends to play all around the delivery
I cannot believe people actually supported this guy. Anyone with even an iota of cricketing intelligence should know Rizwan is not good enough to hold a bat in international cricket.
Sarfraz at worst is comparable to Rizwan at his best. Just goes to show how most 'fans' here also agenda-based.
That's right. But people here bigging up Rizwan as some sort of superstar were hilarious.Yes. Always said he's worse, or at best as bad as Sarfraz.
However, this is not a justification to recall Sarfraz. On current form he's terrible, and should be given a lesson for being a terrible captain and the biggest non-performer.
Can Rohail do worse than Rizwan right now? This is not even Rizwan at his worst. He is supposed to be in good form right now, and this is what he is doing with that good form.We severely lack quality in the wicket keeping batsman role, hence Rizwan was picked off some good form. Can't bring Sarfraz back, so looks like Rizwan will be around as a temporary solution until someone better comes along. Let's see how Rohail Nazir develops.
Yeah, his poor performances this series have everything to do with the T20 format. This should be it for him in the T20I format. He is just not good enough at international level in the T20 format. But he should not be dropped from the ODI team.
And no to Sarfraz as well. Bismillah or Rohail should be given a go in the next T20I series.

Sarfraz deserves everything he has got due to lack of hard work. He is still the best keeper-batsman in Pakistan at the moment.
