[VIDEO] Mohammad Rizwan after comeback - Performance Watch

He doesn't look right but he needs to be given a chance to swim or sink. Let's wait before a final judgment can be made but I am not convinced.

What's with people not willing to give players a proper run? T20s aren't even his preferred formats, he doesn't even have a great T20 record domestically. Give him a chance to show what he can do in tests, we already know he's good for ODIs as we saw him score 2 centuries against Asutralia earlier this year.

Laughable comparisons with Sarfraz. Even if they are the same with the bat (which they are not, Rizwan is better), Rizwan is a much better keeper than Sarfraz.

It seems like there is some sort of agenda by team management to end Rizwan's career.

He struggled at no.4 in the first 2 T20's and instead of pushing him down to 5/6, he was sent at no.3 in the final game. How bizarre!

I would be patient with Rizwan and play him for the next 6 months regardless of his scores. The same thing should have been done to Shehzad and Akmal when they were brought back.

No WK batsman in the history of Pak cricket has scored 2 centuries in single ODI series and that too against Australia. He has been exceptional in for Pak A and in domestic cricket as well so he deserves a long run in ODIs and Tests.

I'd take sarfaraz over Rizwan
Rizwan he's been very poor.

I'm still trying to figure out the hype around Rizwan

Come on, he is better than Sarfraz in the longer formats. Just give him time, lol. HE has only played 1 Test.

Rizwan out for 22 off 46 balls in the first innings of the second practice game vs. Cricket Australia XI.

Not surprised.

His batting in the actual Tests will be fun to watch. Hopping and ducking and being clueless.

Looked far less fidgety today. I wish he stayed this still at the crease in the T20s too, looks like a far better player that way.

In reference to test match batting in Australia, this word should be associated to Misbah.

I'm sure Rizwan's record against the Aussies at their backyard will be far superior to the record held by your master.

Good stuff before being robbed by the umpire. Being a bit aggressive, counterattacking when team is a bit down is how ideally a no 7 should play and Rizwan did exactly that.

Our people have short memories.

Last time we played at the Gabba, Sarfraz scored a half century.

Too early to say his T20 and ODI antics won't be repeated in Tests.

Another poor post.

He scored 2 x ODI tons against Australia earlier this year and is averaging 49 @ strike rate of 89 in ODIs this year after six innings.

So in all fairness it appears the short memories lie with you :) .

A breath of fresh air.

Good attitude by him, Asad and Yasir. Same cannot be said for the other seven batsman.

Good Keeping from Rizwan in the 1st Test

He's playing the ball much later in Tests, and as a consequence, actually looks like a proper batsman with good balance in complete contrast to the ridiculousness of the T20s... I'm not sure if he tries to hit the ball too hard or what, in T20s, but he's much better in the longer formats.

He could actually be a decent T20 player if he stops being so fidgety at the crease. Playing beautifully here, presenting the full face of the bat, standing tall, playing late, and negotiating the short stuff really well.

Rizwan in an interview with Bazid Khan on Straight Drive:

"Regarding the 100, I wasn't thinking about the number of runs. I did think that the 100 is important for me so I should do it but then I thought even if it doesn't happen, I will do if in future and I continued playing. I made effort but Allah didn't will me to get a hundred there"

"In the past, the captain was the wicket-keeper so I was in and out of the team, I didn't get a consistent chance to play, I would play then would go out and there was pressure"

"I was enjoying watching Babar bat, he's top of the rankings in other formats because he has all the shots, his foot movement is good and he kept guiding me as well. That made things easier for me and thanks to Allah I made runs"

"I want to praise Labuschagne's innings a lot, sometimes you have to learn from the opposition. I watched him and his attitude closely and I was impressed by him, he had positive intent throughout. I saw his batting a lot, and at night also I watched his batting and tried to learn from it and apply that"

"Asad Shafiq has been making runs consistently, Babar Azam also, Shan bhai chipped in also and I have some form as well. Our batting is improving. If we can just pick up some early wickets with the new ball then we will do well in the next Test insha'Allah"

in T20s he has been trying different things to get his strike rate up. In tests and ODIs he doesn't need to.

He's kept better than Sarfaraz and batting better. I hope he can keep this up. He also isn't restricted by pacers and doesn't get bogged down by short bowling.
