Commentators explained that the rule has changed. It’s where the first point of contact between the foot and the ground was. If the first point of contact was inside the line, then the rest of the foot can still cut the line and it’s legal. That was the case here
 
If you could combine the shot-making ability of Faheem with the defence and temperament of Abbas, you’d have a terrific batsman.
 
Yasir shah has had a really poor test apart from the Williamson wicket he has been a total liability dont know why he keeps getting picked in sena .

We might as well of tried m nawaz and told haris sohail to bowl more cant of done any worse
 
I knew Jamieson would make the difference. The rest of the nz bowlers were looking toothless. Though boult was a bit unlucky. Fawad played a rash shot to get out to Wagner
 
Yasir would have gone for his flamboyant shots anyway. Works when you have runs on the board or there's no pressure (ie match lost).

Rizwan and Fawad did bat extraordinarily well through the day but after tea it was a deliberate plan to block the session. It allowed NZ to get away with bowling anything they wished for. Bouncer, fuller, wide, full, short.
 
Whenever I see Abbas I remember the song “AWara man” from the 50s

He tried, field was up though and he doesn't have the ability of a top order batsman to manufacture a shot to force a single. What's important is that he's still there.
 
You would think Faheem would get out trying to chase the target because Abbas on the other end can only block. They should I think go for draw
 
We may as well enjoy it. Faheem will not farm the strike and nor will he resist the pulls.

Having said that if Younis’ style of coaching is to be Faheem’s father figure and to encourage him to continue playing like this, then I need to slap Younis.

Abbas’ expressions suggest he has just found out that people are allowed to, and can, bowl quicker than 120 kph.
 
Abbas basically has been transported in time from the 40s. Our legendary Test cricketer
 
When Wasim and Waqar used to bowl like Jamieson is bowling now, they were warned by the umpires for hostile bowling.
 
Abbas soon to be have his middle stump ripped out the ground by the yorker

Over shoulder height in normal batting stance is a bouncer.

Its similar like if Starc keeps bowling 6 yorkers all day. Sooner or later few balls will sneak through defense and hit the stumps or hit the pads. Its effective i agree but so so so boring to watch especially as a neutral cricket fan.

Because he is not that tall he quite often keeps it below shoulder height. Even in Aussie on the bouncy wickets he was amazingly accurate at it.
 
Maybe if our openers had lasted more than 10 balls this would already be a draw.
 
its better that these two bowl, southee or boult will be tough to handle by tail... leave all short stuff they ae bowling...

Congrats man, You guys deserved to win. Atleast we can held our head high. But like always better team does win in the end in test. And hopefully you guys can spoil India plan to reach final at lords.
 
Fawad and rizwan are not the most talented but they were mentally up for the challenge. But this clown Yasir cant let a bouncer go
 
Well tried. But not close enough. This is like many of the other tries, got close but couldn't quite finish

This always happens.

We lose for most of the game.

Come inches close to a brilliant chase.

Then fail epically within a half hour.

I would rather get destroyed ruthlessly than lose like this.
 
Game over. Good fight guys... but we always have a heroic loss in such circumstances. Never finish the job
