Found it disrespectful and very unnecessary to see Shadab Khan continuously protesting against the Umpire giving clear cut wides as wides. The umpiring has been pathetic this tournament, but on both these occasions the umpire was correct in giving wides.

Shadab even halted play at one point and said "Oh Umpire Khuda ko Maan yaar" whilst gesturing at the Umpire and even Imad came up to the Umpire then to have a few words.

I have no idea why Shadab Khan is rated highly in Pakistan cricket to the point that he is an automatic selection in white ball formats. Can't bowl, can't bat. Now his ego has reached to the point where he genuinely believes he's one of the marquee players in Pakistan who can get away with such antics. I hope the PCB fines him for these gestures. If you don't fine him in the domestics, he and others will only get emboldened and do something stupid at the international level too.

Short video - seems Shadab getting frustrated.

He is 23 years old and is wondering where his career is going despite being VC for the Intl side, which in it self won't last long. His bowling and batting have become atrocious whereas his fielding & fitness is still good.

Like many young players, he needs domestic cricket season under his belt and a defined role.

HOw is that disrespectful?

Nothing wrong in the video. He can show his frusteration

He cant show his frustration with an umpiring decision Esp not a verbal one like that

A fine should be coming up

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Shadab has star quality. He is far from it right now, but the potential is there. To get there though, like many, many people on here say, he needs to be dropped and start performing in domestics. Then, and only then, will he figure out if he is a spin-bowling allrounder or a batting allrounder. Me personally, I honestly think he's a batting allrounder but let's see.

It's acceptable to let out your frustration once in a while (like in the video), but if he was continuously protesting the umpire as OP says then it's a clear fine.

Shadab Khan is suffering from the same issue Sohail Tanvir did. While good he overrated his level to the point it’s delusional. Sohail Tanvir once compare dhimslef to Garfield Sobers

Just 4 wickets in last 10 matches he has played

As an Indian, I can never understand hype of Pak fans with guys like Imad and Shadab. They won’t make into final 11 of past Pak teams.

Ridiculous, should have been banned for one match at least to team him a lesson.

I can't see what the big deal is here. He didn't swear, he just expressed a little bit of frustration at the umpire's decision. In the heat of the moment, it happens. If it happens repeatedly, then that's another issue but once in a while, it's no biggie. This is a sports field at the end of the day, not the offices of a professional services firm!

What he did was not right. But banning or fining over this is too much. Just warn him to keep himself collected as he's the captain of his team and VC of Pakistan.

Hasan Ali was also going after this umpire. Even though his decisions were mostly correct.

stars don't behave this way.

it was a clear wide down the leg side. not sure what he's complaining about.

Rawalpindi, 2 October 2021: Northern captain Shadab Khan has been reprimanded for a level 1 offence for showing dissent during his side’s 1 October match against Sindh at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.

The leg-spinner displayed dissent in the ninth over when his delivery was adjudged wide by the umpire. He was charged under article 2.8 of the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which reads as: “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during a match”.

On-field umpires Saqib Khan and Imtiaz Iqbal levelled the charge.

Shadab accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Iftikhar Ahmed.
