This interview is such a classic example of what happens to Pakistani players in the Indian media. Ex Indian players like Sehwag take all sorts of digs and our ex players have absolutely no pride, shame or nationalistic ferver to defend the PCB, Pakistani nation from their taunts, comments.

What really got to me was Akhtar saying the BCCI and PCB both needed Pakistan India to play each other and Sehwag humiliated him in response by saying no brother, BCCI does not need any India Pakistan matches you do.

Honestly he needs to hang his head in shame.

I mean Sehwag is so proudly defending the BCCI, the Indian govt position on Pakistan-India matches, proudly replaying his pota, beta comments and absolutely no rebuttal from Akhtar. Absolutely disgraceful.

Tune into that Shoaib AKhtar - Mohammad Yousuf show if you want to hear what you want to hear.

If he's on an Indian television show he's fallen for the money like many of your other cricketers. National pride, patriotism, fervour yada yada = zero.

Thats what i am saying. No pride in ex pakistani players in the Indian media.

Sehwag is actually a disgrace, you can't be taunting others like that. One of the very few cricketers I don't respect at all.

Keep feeding your delusions. You Indians talk as if he won't be making any money otherwise? Well, to let you know, he's being paid in millions (if not more!) for simply holding a TV show on GEO for a month, yes, a month. They are just simple not as vile and intolerant as Sehwag. Making a mockery out of yourself for some cheap publicity isn't the way to go. Most people in Pakistan want peace with India.

Hate sehwag with passion! Shoaib always do this on Indian channels.

Honestly disliked Viru Paaji here a bit. Even if he was right about money not required by BCCI.

Good post, now this is how you respond to ignorance. Pakistani's showing up their parosi's big time.

some quotes from the video

"The Pakistani people are always ready to play against India"

"The relationship of love between both peoples will remain forever"

"We respect Indian players like Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly"

"After Imran Khan, we consider Ganguly as the best captain in the sub-continent"

"Cricket should be played between both teams; whether Pakistan loses or India loses in a game, the winner should be the subcontinent

"We are confident about the India game because we chased 300+ in warm-up game"

"We will celebrate after winning but not just against India but after winning the Champions Trophy!"

:))) :))) :))) :))) No, we don't. At least I don't. Misbah was ten times the Captain Ganguly ever was.

Ahaha Shazzy!! Making you proud finally?! :yk2

Am always proud of everyone except those who disrespected my beloved Khan and Misbah during their retirement phase with insults, I will not forgive them even in life after death Big Mac :mv

And to be honest majority of us do want peace with India but they don't want to, bit like ISIS who won't play ball and will mindlessly perform action x, y or z unfortunately just for the sake of it.

Exactly. I feel like we get the bad lot on PP because I've met some great Indians who want peace but then again, maybe I've just met the few, good ones.

Disagree with Misbah being better than Ganguly. Captain's shouldn't be judged on the basis of wins alone, you have to see many other things like did they change the brand of cricket the team played under them? Did the team start believing in themselves more that they could beat any side in the world anywhere anytime? What legacy of players did they leave behind?

In Ganguly's place he scores very high on all fronts, under him India competed very hard in England, Australia, it was under his leadership that the tide changed in India Pakistan contests, it was under his leadership that an attacking brand of cricket was encouraged and the over reliance on Tendulkar was over, it was under his leadership that the likes of Dravid, Laxman started to man up. It was under his leadership which saw the likes of Sehwag, Gambhir, Kaif, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh introduced and strongly backed to play their natural games.

Misbah in contrast has a much pathetic record outside UAE, he didn't even compete against SA, Australia, we lost our only test series vs NZ under his loss and as high as his wins are, he has a large number of defeats as well. And what is his legacy? A timid Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq. The less said about the legacy Misbah left for us in ODI's the better.

Ganguly all the way

Actually, good on Shoaib for maintaining civility. Sehwag came off looking like immature, uncivilized, and full of hatred. That wasn't aggressive from him, it was pitiful chest thumping.

I beg to differ. Shoaib did the opposite of being a man. Constantly folding his hands together when talking to the anchor and Sehwag. Pretty disgraceful stuff to be honest. Is money worth more than your dignity, your country's dignity and self respect?

Aamir Sohail showed more manliness in the forum.

Would it have looked better if Shoaib had also stooped to Sehwag's level and talked in a loud, condescending manner? For me, it would have been a shouting matching between 2 idiots instead of 1 idiot embarrassing himself (which is what the video is). Sehwag's words are meaningless, and these kind of shows amount to nothing....regardless of who has the upper hand in the discussion. What you do remember though is the conduct of individuals, and I'm sure what people will remember from this video is Sehwag mouthing off like an idiot and Shoaib taking the higher road. Just my opinion.

I saw Sohail's video too, and IMO he too shouldn't have gone into the politics of whether India supports democracy or not. Irrelevant to the discussion. If the host is asking such questions, it's better to just punt the question and move on. People are astute enough to know who's engaging in mud slinging and who's initiating it.

No need to go into the toilet with Sehwag

Sehwag has openly mocked Akhtar in the past saying that he praises the Indian team, Tendulkar and Co because he is desperate for money in India.

No one is asking him to be nasty, to shout or scream but you can still hold your head up high and stand your ground, defend your country without looking like a servant desperate to please their master like Akhtar is looking in this video.

Just look at how Sohail is handling these pro Indian anchors, Shastri, defending Pakistan with pride while maintaining his dignity at the same time.

Stop describing the situation based on how you see yourself in that situation, no on else agrees with your perspective and Akhtar is a true patriot who has bled for his country.

^^ Depends on your definition I guess. IMO Shoaib did a nice job of being supportive of Pakistan in a humble manner. He didn't insult India, which is a sign of strength that he doesn't need to go there to support Pakistan.

On the other hand, Sehwag's entire commentary was derogatory towards Pakistan and that's what he used to present his side of the argument. To me that came of as indecent, weak and shameless. But I guess there is appetite for posturing, so I can see why Sehwag's more aggressive posturing is to your liking.

Regardless, probably spent more time than needed on that video... :)

Sehwag is a known tool. Shoaib acted in a dignified way and I don't understand why the OP is unhappy with it. Maybe next time they should send over Yousuf or Basit

Think Shoaib did ok

There is no need to descend to that level. Also, a lot of times, this is all pre-agreed. Shoaib probably told about how the program will go and Sehwag asked to act the clown

If there is one thing I detest it's the nebulous concept of national pride.

I do not approve of this kind of pompous behavior by Sehwag. One needs to know that its a game and India can be on the losing side as well.

But then Veeru was known to bat in a similar manner throughout.

Its the TV Channel that is paying both of them to speak in the manner they currently are.

But the "POTA-BETA" comment was in bad taste. How is one allowed to speak in such tone on an International TV Channel? Don't think that if it was telecasted in English would such comment would have been tolerated.

Sehwag knows Shoaib went for the money and is treating him like that.

I can bet you he wouldn't talk a bit like this if it was Wasim despite him working in India for years and some of you condescendingly calling him Vikram.

I don't like this kind of humour, personally. Not a way to treat someone who is our guest, should be condemned.

If you watch the video, it is heavily edited. After every strong statement from Sehwag, there's parts skipped where probably akhtar replied and they didn't want Indian audience to hear what he said. It's not one continuous sequence.

Someone like IK would never agree to come on such a show

Trash tv really, nothing analytical or insightful was said, all i can say is go easy on the makeup next time Mr Akthar.

Used to love Sehwag the batsman, IMO Sehwag is definitely among the top 5 greatest test batsmen from Asia. Absolute beast as an opener.

But sadly, Sehwag the twitter troll is an absolute *****. There is a reason why guys like Sachin, Wasim are seen in a different light than Miandad or Sehwag. Being a great player is one thing, but even more important to carry yourself with dignity.

Awesome Post. Misbah era was one of the worst things ever to have happened to us.

All this looked scripted to me. For Indian audience, obviously.

But yeah, Sehwag is right, India should win this one easily.

Cringe worthy stuff by Viru, serious mid life crisis this guy is having. Kudos to Shoaib for conducting himself with dignity, he is the bigger man here.

Considering the simpleton's political affinity and BJP style patriotism, he may become our national coach next month.

Munna itni mirchi lagi hai to idhar aata kyoon hai....inzi was better than tendulkar....how many series did tendulkar win in england?

Think Shoaib did ok

There is no need to descend to that level. Also, a lot of times, this is all pre-agreed. Shoaib probably told about how the program will go and Sehwag asked to act the clown

In that case, he probably didn't even need to act

Pak needs to send someone who can talk for them. The likes of Wasim and Shoaib are unable to do that. Mind you, it is difficult to defend the PCB when the organisation is based on nepotism. Sehwag seems to be really bitter about something. Perhaps behind the scenes som Pak player gave him a spanking or something.

Shoaib losing respect whatever he had, ghabmir again disrespecting afridi and shoaib had no guts to stop him.

Thanks Sehwag for proving once again that a sports hero can be a total tool in real life.

As an Indian fan, cringeworthy and embarrassing to say the least.

Kudos to Akhtar.

Looks like both had been instructed to act the way they did to run the show in a certain way.

Actually, Sehwag is a tool these days.Someone who is on twitter is going to tell you that as well. With his ultra nationalistic tweets he is making a mockery of himself. He is trying to show that he is extremely patriotic to his countrymen but the fact is he is a fool and doesn't know how to carry himself and that separates him from the likes of SRT,Dravid,VVS,etc.

But that is just the trend in India these days-from bollywood to cricket stars to news channels-you have to show you are patriotic by insulting and crusifying Pakistan and defend every move that Indian government, read BJP,takes.

This ís just the extension of that and it is just going to increase furthur.

Shoaib actually came across as very decent whereas the 'hardly literate' Sehwag was just being a disgrace.

India v Pakistan: Buy radio sets to break - Virender Sehwag taunts Shoaib Akhtar

India clash with Pakistan in an ICC Champions Trophy match in Birmingham on Sunday. Former cricket stars Virender Sehwag and Shoaib Akhtar have a go at each other as the mouth-watering match approaches.
The India versus Pakistan clash is not just an exciting contest for fans, but it has also provided former players from both camps to involve in a little banter.

Virender Sehwag and Shoaib Akhtar ‘attacked’ each other as the countdown to Sunday’s India vs Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy blockbuster began.

Both Virender Sehwag and Shoaib Akhtar played their cricket with gay abandon. Post retirement, the duo express themselves freely during their media assignments.

Former Pakistan pacer Akhtar was in Sehwag’s firing line as the two legends faced off on Hindi TV channel ABP News.

Virender Sehwag suggested Pakistani fans “buy radio sets instead of television as it won’t pinch their pockets if they have to break them after Pakistan loses the June 4 contest versus India.”

A baffled Shoaib Akhtar retorted, saying: “We have enough old Chinese TV sets which don’t work, so we (will) break them (instead).”

Sehwag relentlessly mocked Akhtar for Pakistan’s inability to beat India in ICC World Cups. He was also of the view that the current Indian side led by Virat Kohli will easily topple Sarfraz Ahmed’s team.

Akhtar, on the other hand, kept reminding Sehwag that Pakistan have a better record (2-1) against India in the ICC Champions Trophy.

“Pakistan need to play like Kohli, or even half of what how Kohli plays like. If we play with game awareness at run a ball or at an economy of four or five for the full 50 overs, it will provide Pakistan with a very strong chance,” said Akhtar.

Sehwag was not done yet. When Akhtar said that India and Pakistan should play at least two series every year, Sehwag shot back: “BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world and it’s Pakistan who need a bilateral series more than anyone.”

Sehwag added that the money the PCB will earn from a series with India will help the Pakistan Cricket Board take care of its players better.

Sehwag is a top contender for the Indian coach’s job, should Anil Kumble is denied a much-deserved extension by the Indian cricket Board.

"I have no problems with most Indian current players, ex players, Indian people but this video is for Virender Sehwag"

"You want respect than give respect to get respect but if you don't give us respect then we cannot respect you in return sorry"

"If Sehwag's comments were directed to one individual or even me personally, i would have ignored it but because he got personal with the nation of Pakistan, being a true Pakistani, it is my duty to respond"

"You called Pakistan your beta and Bangladesh your pota, but what happened today, which beta was this of yours?"

"Sri Lanka has made you bleed from everywhere and you can't even figure out from where"

"No matter how big you become, you will always remain under us"

"You are going to face the South Africans on Sunday, you might as well book your return flight to India on Monday right now"

"Right now we have the wrong people running the PCB but we will even the score with interest in due course just like we had been doing in the past, tell you baap to give you permission to play against us in Sharjah and to take of your chooriyah and to face us anywhere, the truth is you guys are scared"

"The likes of Gavaskar, Azharrudin, Manjrekar, Kapil Dev, Tendulkar, Ganguly, Dravid, Laxman, Harbhajan, Zaheer Khan are all very well loved, respected in Pakistan but where did you come from seriously?"

"I am telling you right now you better win on Sunday, if you do not, i am telling you right now, i am going to be so ruthless along with everyone else that you guys will literally have to hide your Maa's"

"Do you remember what Saqlain did in Chennai when you had 4 Baap's in your team?"

"When we were in Uniform playing Cricket proudly for our countries during that time, you were in Liquid form"

"We have the likes of Ian Chappel, Brian Lara, Viv Richards in our studios here in Pakistan. You call up fake experts to India, we have the best experts coming to Pakistan"

"This is me being extremely polite with you right, if you don't behave yourself next time, you just watch me take you to places you have never been before"

Comments: Personally feel that Latif did not need to descend to Sehwag's Level but what the heck

The humiliation bestowed on Sehwag over the past few days is enough punishment for him. He was hoping for unconditional support from fellow Indian's that has not happened. Most Indian's have totally distanced themselves from this idiot not backing him at all. We are talking of a man here who recently even mocked his own dead soldier calling them cheap names, that is the class of the man. In return his fellow Indian's abused him like you won't believe.

To Sehwag: Baap baap hota hai, beta beta hota hai

Bhoolna mat.
