Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Azam Khan shared following interesting insight on Babar Azam vs Virat Kohli debate in a recent interview, do you agree?

"The era Virat Kohli started playing in, he had established stars like VVS Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar, and Rahul Dravid around him. But who was there with Babar Azam? There was no one. Pakistan cricket was traditionally known for its fast bowling, yet this player (Babar) has made it famous with his batting. Therefore, there is a huge difference in any comparison between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam"

Honestly, and I’m being deadly serious here. I hate this post 2010 new age victim mentality we’ve developed.

“No cricket at home”

“Poor Misbah did the whole country a favour when no one wanted captaincy”

“Poor Babar had no mentors”

“Poor Babar’s bad form is because no one is showing him support”

Not only is most of that rubbish, our players, commentators, coaches, pundits really need to man up.

It’s no wonder we’re such a weak team. Weak in standard, weak in ability, weak in physical strength.

Always giving me a sob story.

No one likes a sook

Bolded parts are true. Playing at home is always important for players development infornt of home crowd.

Misbah led Pakistan with utmost dignity after the 2010 match-fixing scandal, it was never easy, but he did a great job for Pakistan, especially in Test cricket.

Basically saying that Inzimam , Younis , Yousuf were nobodies compared to Sachin Dravid Laxman

That settles lot of debates on this forum

Yes they were inferior to sachin and dravid but no way is laxman in the same category, he is at a lesser level than both inzi and Younus maybe on par with Yousuf. If you consider odi/test combined laxman is not fit enough to tie inzi’s shoe laces and much lower quality than Yousuf. Younus was a terrible odi player like laxman as well. Inzi and Yousuf both were better odi players than dravid too

Azam Khan speaking during the same interview:

“When I went to Kakul for training, I failed my 2 km fitness test. I just couldn’t do it because I was very overweight at that time. But that’s not the reason I didn’t perform—it’s just that I should’ve been fitter. At the very least, I should’ve completed it in a better time. But someone called a reporter and leaked it. Suddenly, it was all over social media: “Azam took 25 minutes to run 2 km.”

“I was like—what kind of people are these? Is this Pakistan’s team? I was so disappointed. That’s extremely disappointing—especially for a player—when something personal gets broadcast to the entire world. I was like, do you call yourself a family? If you’re a family, then whatever happens within these four walls should stay there. Resolve it then and there. That shows the maturity of the players and the family.”

“If I have a friend and things go sour between us, I’ll try to resolve it right then and there. Because when you let it drag on, it starts to build resentment. You start carrying emotional baggage— “You did this to me, you said that.”

“I’ve often felt that if my father didn’t get along with a certain player back in the day, and that player now holds a position in the PCB setup, he might take it out on me. But it’s still disappointing. It shouldn’t happen.”

“Honestly, if someone’s doing this—leaking internal matters—then revoke their central contract. If they’re centrally contracted, remove them. Make them regret it. Otherwise, you won’t set an example for anyone. Sure, be friends with journalists. But don’t go around telling them who’s playing, what’s happening inside the team. That’s basically a breach of anti-corruption protocols. You can’t tell anyone the playing XI or internal team decisions. It’s so strict now that I don’t even tell my own father whether I’m playing tomorrow or not. That’s how tight things are these days.”

How much did Inzi or Yunus play with Babar, David was a coach with India I believe when Kohli was playing.
Even if they had played together - do u think Babar wud have listened to them

Wasim Akram & Herschelle Gibbs have said that Babar never listens to anyone

Take anything Wasim says with pinch of salt, not sure how much experience Gibbs have consulting Babar. Most people in Pakistan cricket believe Babar is the hardest working player, inuding the current T20 captain Salman Agha, and trains a lot on his batting. Even if what Wasim and Gibbs said is true once Babar had established himself as a star, he would certainly listened to Pakistan legend as a youngster.

I doubt it

If Babar was really so hardworking - he wud have spent 4 months after PSL playing county cricket - when he was dropped from NT. Not playing golf & posting pix on Insta

Why does anyone care what a failed, unfit nepobaby cricketer thinks of Babar or Virat?

It's like being offended by the opinion of a homeless person on the side of the street.
