According to reports, Umar Akmal 'completely exposed himself' in frustration during one of the fitness tests. His brother Kamran Akmal says it was supposed to be an act of 'mischief' and was a misunderstanding.

Kamran Akmal himself reportedly skipped several fitness tests before eventually taking them and falling short. Similarly, Salman Butt could be in trouble after reacting negatively when his request to having his fitness test rescheduled was turned down.

International cricket is a different league.

I pray to never see Akmals and Shehzad in Pak colours again.
 
What did he do but please share details with us so we can decide what punishment would be apt for him as per internet justice .
 
I have long suspected that chota Akmal suffers from some sort of mental disorder. This just confirms it.
 
Not at all surprised by the news, but waiting to see the reactions of their supporters on this forum (we all know who)

Harping on ‘talent’ & domestic performance will get you nowhere if you don’t have the right attitude & discipline to play the game.

PCB needs to close the Akmal bros chapters once & for all & just end this sickening saga.
 
there is something seriously wrong with Umar.. he is mentally shot. Now I will wait for Kamran to come in media with his friendly journalists crying foul.

Apparently he could be kicked out of the next domestic tournament. This was the last straw for Umar Akmal.

Really tough to be a Umar Akmal fan .... supporting the guy is like helping North Korea - few years back, during food crisis, China sent a Cargo train full of food staff for North Korea - Kim’s army took charge of the train, then arrested the crews on suspicion of espionage.

These brothers are Jahil, and third class people, but I still believe Misbah also lacks man-management skill needs to be a successful captain and administrator. Umar Akmal is seeing the last chance of his return to international cricket slipping away and must be extremely frustrated. We did not manage his talent 8-10 years ago, now its too late, we need to move on from Akmals.

UA remains our best T20 WK/Bat option but the guy is just plain thick. I know people from Leicestershire at they thought he was an idiot.

It has come to a point when you don't even feel bad for him anymore. I'm surprised no one has advised him to check a psychiatrist yet. Or maybe they have, he doesn't listen.
 
You can to show your body to the trainer to let him see the areas with fat which require work but not sure what was the intention of Umer Akmal here. :uak

Hilarious yet sad at the same time. Umar Akmal was a potential Pakistani ATG.

I've had 2 chance meetings with him on the road in Lahore Defence driving a cruiser with big fat exhausts and chrome wheels while he did his absolute best to kill himself and everyone around him. He's not one for being subtle.
 
This guy should be given life ban for International cricket and 2 years from domestic. He is a serial offender and most likely he will never learn.
 
Yesterday Umar was denying having given any fitness test.
 
Where are all the ‘bring the Akmal’s back’ fans.
This guy must have some sort of mental issues, it’s sad that so many Pakistani fans idolise this idiot.

I’m sure we will still see 100’s of threads about how this guy needs to come back to the team. I just find it so frustrating that so many players don’t take fitness tests seriously and make a mockery of it. This is why we are a million light years behind the big 3
 
It is very clear that he has mental problem, and it could very well be physical.

Instead of criticizing him, PCB should arrange a brain MRI and get appointments with the leading psychologist and psychiatrist in the country.
 
At least the Akmals keep us entertained when the cricket team doesn't.

Yes, thats the taboo about the mental issues, sadly. If a player , even as useless as Haris Sohail, has an ankle, shoulder or knee injury, or a player has hepatitis, PCB would have no problem in spending million of Rs and sending them all over the world for treatment, but no such awareness or willingness to treat a player with a mental issue, which could be manageable.

Except that there is an example of Haris Sohail getting injured, where his treatment wasn't carried out properly by the PCB and he had to go to England and get treatment at his own expense.

It's a well known fact that Umar has personality issues. He's not a shareef cow, in other words he's a bigra hua bacha.

That doesn't mean he's not super talented in cricketing skills. Both entirely different matters.

Kevin Petersen was a much bigger badmaadh and spoiled brat than Umar. These people who aren't mentally super stable need to be dealt with carefully.

It's also well-known that we require his cricketing skills, as well as Kami's, to take apart the bowlers in World T20.

So with that in mind PCB should handle these people carefully and under a good psychologist.
 
Get him to sit with someone like Mike Bearley for an hour. The guy, if he had a brain would have realised that there is a vacancy in the T20 as WK/Bat and he has the talent to fill it.

KP would spend hours after hours in the nets and spent hours every day keeping fit.

He may have been difficult to manage but he wasn’t a crazy numpty like umar.

Mentors? These are now grown men who should be mentoring other people. They are not kids. They both need to never ever play a game for Pakistan ever again.

They've been replaced by the likes of Shadab musa and ashraf who let their cricket do the talking and recover from bad spells to improve themselves
There's no place in a international firm like the pcb for these renegades

My god, there is no comparison between Kevin Pietersen and Umar Akmal.

Yes KP was highly self absorbed but he was a proven performer and very dedicated towards his game and fitness. Umar Akmal doesn't even have one tenth of the work ethic or ability.

Not only does Umar Akmal need a psychiatrist, it seems his fans need one too.

Of course, Umar doesn't have the consistency and performances of KP.

But, we do require his and Kami's services for the World T20. It's sad and unfortunate that nobody else stepped up to have that role of enforcer against pace bowlers. Everyone we tried has failed.

So, until that time, they need good mentors and some careful treatment. As long as they can give us quick starts or add quick runs to our totals, that's good enough.

They'll be selected again their cousin Babar Azam is captain of Pak cricket team. Umar Akmal has been committing disciplinary offences through out his career, swallowed some of the many careers as this useless tallunt was kept in the team for 7 years. This is why people hate this system, more deserving cricketers are never considered while this mafia [Shoaib Malik included] gets selected due to connections.

After what antics he did in NCA in 2018 no other board would've allowed him to come 100 metres in the vicinity. Wasim Khan was boasting about non-tolerance now would like to see what actions he take of repeated disciplinary offenders.
 
I've had many conversations with Umar over the years.

There is a good guy in there who means well, wants to do well and is very patriotic. The problem is he doesn't help himself and keeps letting himself, his family and his friends down again and again.

Every time, he apologises, says he won't do it again, but the cycle keeps happening.

Umar is topping the batting charts and is the best batsman in Pakistan currently, best performer in QeA trophy.

Best domestic batsman two years in a row.

Yet this trainer with obviously a grudge against Umar proceeds to make fun of him. And PCB instead of protecting him like Rohit is protected, starts giving lame statements.

Umar is our best domestic batsman. Two years in a row. Centuries in both the finals.

For years I have heard from Umar Akmal fans how every single person has a grudge against him. The coach had. The selectors had. The traffic policeman had. Every single person. Here again you claimed the trainer had a grudge on him

In order to believe this we have to believe there is a vast conspiracy against Umar going for over 10 years now. Do you even hear yourself here? Every single time he is innocent and others have grudges on him and conspire against him? And masala only against him?

Please try to understand what he did, as stated in the OP.

It's one thing to harp on about talent, and another to defend this inevitable nonsense by Umar Akmal. PCB does not owe anything to Umar. He needs to learn how to respect people around him atleast.

Frustration doesn't mean exposing yourself to a trainer :facepalm:
 
The trainer if it's who I think it is will be Yasir Malik.

He's worked with Umar Akmal for many years.
