[VIDEO] Virat Kohli loses cool, clashes with Australian media over privacy

Super cringe from Kohli. You're out in a public space anyone can record anyone they want. This isn't a 3rd world country like India where you can threaten and beat up someone for recording you.

What a weird headline.

So by media own admission he calmly made his point known and shook hands once it was explained that his kids weren’t being filmed, but he lost his cool?

It's poor click bait headlines and many posters got drawn. It's media being media for eyeballs. Hating Kohli is so 2018, but it still makes money.
Everyone commenting is just reading the headline.

I’ve seen this video circulating on social media…

Where exactly did he lose his cool?
+1

I tried to see video of losing cool, video ended without it.

Made up story from media to get eyeballs and it worked.

I'm guessing they charter a private jet, rather than actually own them.

Kohli owns one. He keeps shuttling between india and UK using it.

Ofcourse the Jet isn't in his personal name because of tax reasons. Even Ambanis don't have Jets on personal names.

Usually in India people open a company, buy jet in that name. Show that the jet is for leasing or renting. Then use it for personal reasons. And occasionally rent it out.

There is a big relief on import duty if you do this.

Do Hardik and Sachin own one too?

Sachin owns the most expensive jet among cricketers.

Hardiks is a small jet. Rumours are he got it for joining MI.

Ndtv did a article on this few months back.

But i knew about Kohli and Kapil before that.

That was a useless act from kohli. if he is that much concerned about the family privacy so better cover their faces or ask them to stay at home.

“you can’t film me without my permission”

I love when people just try to make up laws lol.

They absolutely can.

No Indian Cricketer is more popular than Sachin in India. Yet Sachinis having no problems living in India. What is so abhorrent about India that Kohli deems it unworthy to live and raise his kids in the country? The country gave him everything and this is how he thanks his country?

Threaten and beat up? What a Paindu interpretation, even the Aus media said he shook hands with the cameraman once they explained they were not filming his kids.
Please watch the damn vid atleast.

@Mamoon I do believe Kohli might have his own plane. I heard he makes 45 million a year in revenue from just his sponsorships. So easy for him to maintain a small private jet.

Media has reported it multiple times that he owns a private jet. I posted a link as well.

Kohli makes between 30mn to 40mn USD a year. This is as per Forbes.

Sachin and Dhoni make between 20-30mn USD.

If you see the video all he asked was plz don’t record my kids, and he even shook the hands of the cameraman after he came to know they aren’t.
My point is that you can't claim privacy when it suits you. Come off social media and then you have every right to complain

Even if he was not on social media he has no right to complain. He is a superstar and all moves around him will be watched and judged, that's the price you pay when you are at the position he is in. You can't expect a normal life and be a superstar millionaire, can't have all your cakes and eat all of it too...

I don't agree with you. I think if a guy is off social media and keeps his family( including the misses) then they should get privacy

Australian media do this every single time. Stirring some controversy.
The article which nobody seems to want to read says it was a misunderstanding and the kids weren't being filmed.

However this has always been part of the challenge of touring in cricket especially in a high profile series. You face the heat not just from the opposition but the host country's media. Not coincidentally this story has been blown up with the series deadlocked.

In the 2023 Ashes after the row over Carey's stumping of Bairstow, there was a minor story blown up by the UK press about how Carey didn't pay for a haircut.

In the 2017/18 Ashes, Australian press made a big deal of Jonny Bairstow's "headbutt greeting" of Cameron Bancroft in a bar. Then there was a story of Ben Duckett pouring a drink over Jimmy Anderson's head.

All silly mind games which have little impact on a series result but gets people talking I guess.

More trouble for King

The funny thing is, we should be discussing Kohli's performances and his declining Test average, but instead, we are caught up in Kohli vs. the media. Mission accomplished for Kohli. He has successfully shifted the focus away from his poor performances. What a champ. :inti

All the attention has been diverted to this incident instead of how badly Kohli was failing and it was time to drop him but nobody seems to be talking about his form anymore.

Media has done a good job I guess. Kohli will fail in the next game as well in the meantime.

None of them do. There is a world of difference between owning a plane and chartering one.

:kp

They don't travel with the team. They travel separately on a pvt jet.
For team-building and environment shouldn’t he travel with the squad? What if every single of them had private jet, would they all do the same?

He has every right to protect his children’s privacy. He is a parent before he is a cricketer.

That said when he found out they weren’t filming, he did move on.

Teacup and storm.
He was actually a cricketer before he became a dad😛.

He lives with the team. Travels with them to ground and practice. Only when traveling to another city does he travel separately.

Also, to answer your question, popularity of Sachin and Virat is different.

Sachin Tendulkar has always been loved primarily for his batting, and people still cherish him for making their 90s special. Everyone in India adores him, regardless of their state, religion, age, or background. Because of this universal respect and admiration, people usually don't mob him when he is out in public.

Virat Kohli, on the other hand, rose to fame during the era of social media. His popularity extends beyond his batting. Girls admired him and wished for a boyfriend like him, while boys aspired to emulate his fitness and six-pack abs. His connections with Bollywood celebrities, his aggressive persona, his appearances at parties, and his speaking skills in interviews and podcasts further elevated his fame.

For example, his mention of a chole bhature shop in Delhi from his teenage days turned the shop owner into a celebrity—quite amusing! However, there are also controversies that have led a section of society to dislike him, such as his comments during Diwali about air pollution. Kohli's popularity is somewhat polarizing, much like John Cena's—where one section chants "Let's go Cena" while another enjoys booing him.

As far as I know, Kohli's fame has never been solely about his batting; it has been amplified by his vibrant life outside cricket. His batting, though exceptional, has often felt like an added bonus to his overall persona.

Question: Most famous person you have met?

Sam Konstas said "Probably Virat Kohli at Canberra".

Virat Kohli is a Global brand.

Hope branded Kohli focuses little bit on his batting too. That test avg is reaching 45 now from once which was 54.
