Smart, smart speech by IK. All international media is covering it apparently. Went for a conciliatory approach to everything. It will be hard to label him a terrorist even for the Indian media now. Said he'd get any accusation of rigging looked into.

All in all, the others can't protest since their complaints are being listened to, he can't be accused of rigging (Which didn't happen) and his foreign policy looks sensible.

Best victory speech ever, this is one damn impressive speech. He is talking on front foot on all topics, not one topic any critics could pick on from this speech.

I'd never ever thought I'd see this sight in 1997, 2002 or 2008. In the early years of the party Imran was dismissed as an eccentric, naive or someone who was waging a futile battle.

He continued to fight on despite the bitter criticisms, personal attacks and heartbreak of multiple election defeats - but the same bloody mindedness and stubborness that defined him as Pakistan captain has led him to overcome all the odds.

Many PTI supporters were discouraged after 2013 amidst hopes of a tsunami - however that was never realistic. 2013 enabled a bridgehead to be established in KP and now they've kicked on to achieve a historic victory that was looking unlikely before Panamagate.

Its true he has made missteps, and some candidates are far more desirable (Amir Liaquat to name one). I also think IK was wrong to oppose military operations and has been too close with religious parties. However given the tried and tested alternatives, who've enjoyed decades in power and have thoroughly corrupted the political system, the people felt it was time for a change.

I'm not expecting radical changes or a huge transformation in one term or two terms. However if this victory means one more hospital being built, one more school or one village finally supplied clean drinking water - it will be worth it, given how human development has been neglected by the two major parties.

If anything, at least people have hope that there's light at the end of a 70 year long dark tunnel. May this day mark a moment where the suffering of millions of downtrodden Pakistanis becomes alleviated, and when Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah's vision finally begins to realised.

Great summary- thanks bro

Congratulations to pak Brothers from Occupied Kashmir. I don't why but feeling very happy on the win of IK.

Why I consider this Speech Best ever By a new Elected prime Minster? Because its very difficult to be Humble and Kind to all with out discrimination when you reached this position after facing 22 years of constant and threatening opposition.

I didnt catch all of it, i didnt now it was on. Excellent speech from the heart-What i did catch was that we are in dire financial position, and only we can get us out of this terrible hole. Accountability starts with him and his Ministers, Foreign affairs is incredibly complicated and we need to balance so many different interests and we want peace with our neighbours. May Allah help him to achieve his goals.

from his speech it looks like as if Najem Sethi would be safe if we talk about the post for PSL CEO

The thing on Kamran Khan is that a lot of anchors and even many citizens believed the **** that PML-N came out with. Now they're forced to contend with Imran live, they'll be shocked at how nice he is

This speech will help him get support from his opponents voter camps too

im impressed about the parliment turning into a school.

Who is in the photo framed above Imran's head?

i kind of regret not voting him :(

He will go through incredibly difficult periods and you may feel you were right not to. But always bare in mind that he lives and breathes PK and IA that passion gets him through those tough times.

If every Pakistani had the standards of Imran Khan, the country would be in a different state than it is today. One man can't do everything, but he will hopefully prove an inspirational leader whose integrity will rub off on the common man. People aren't bad by nature, but when you have leaders like the Bhuttos and the Sharif clan, you can hardly blame everyone else for behaving like animals.

He will go through incredibly difficult periods and you may feel you were right not to. But always bare in mind that he lives and breathes PK and IA that passion gets him through those tough times.

I trust that our friend will be playing a part in bringing this change because I think he will work in Pakistan with honesty and dedication.

Some people were not able to vote and will not be working in Pakistan either. I wonder what good was their support all these years.

Congratulations Imran and Pakistan! Hope it all goes well.

Convincing people to give him a chance.

Damn, I missed the speech, is it available anywhere to watch?

Imran Khan is not a politician, Imran Khan is a leader. His speech is a textbook example of that in all its glory.

27. He thanked everyone,

You missed one small but very important point.

He started his "victory" speech, something he must have dreamt of for ages, by first paying tribute to the people of Baluchistan and recognizing their sacrifices specifically. For me it was reassurance that we finally have a person in charge of us who thinks of the whole nation and not just after his own self-interest. That little part in his speech was for me a testimony of his vow that he will give more spotlight to the poor and oppressed part of the population. Which is the demand of times to help bring the nation together and bridge the gaps.

Whats wrong with Times Now India?

DjB97SRX0AU9tXG.jpg

Hafeez Saeed didn't win a single seat in Pakistan.

Seriously Indian Media, what is wrong with you, created fear and communal politics is regressing you faster than anyone thought

Oh how wonderful. People were in dire need of the therapy provided by overseas Pakistanis on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and PakPassion.

If you believe social media hasn't helped to get where he at now then you are still far from reality or still pretending to be far from reality to gain more attention.

I am agreeing with you. Millions of Pakistanis would not have voted for PTI without the hashtags of the social media influencers.

im impressed about the parliment turning into a school.

Me too. More specifically I was impressed that he made the bold claim in his first speech after the victory, in front of the whole nation. And the claim is of the nature that it can be easily verified whether he fulfilled it or not. It wasn't some vaguely defined step.

Now the whole nation can hold him accountable to his words.

bro, be ready to see indian media going bonkers over "why did Imran Khan take kashmirs name in his thanks giving speech", " kashmir is indias internal matter" and bla bla bla...

Everyone will say talk is cheap, but he oozes charisma for sure. His actions will ultimately reflect on his words and many say talk is cheap. Let's hope he hasn't overpromised and under delivers.

Isn't this only the second time in Pakistan’s history that one civilian government is handing power to another? It's a great process and as it matures, it will only help Pakistan in long run.

No, it is the first time that second civilian government is handing government to another civilian government. This will be third consecutive civilian regime.

Talk might be cheap or might not be.

All I know is in Pakistan he is the only one who I saw even talking the right talk. Others can't even do that besides repeating vague emotional slogans.

Even after he won and had the attention of the whole nation and some foreign countries he didn't compromised and addressed all the important issues which need to be resolved for the country to move forward. He went through all the topics no matter how "hot" and controversial they might be.

The added bonus, and a very good bonus I might add, is that Pakistan will have a statesmen who can stand shoulder to shoulder with all the powerful leaders in the world without us having to cringe. Someone who can express himself succinctly and protect the interests of the Pakistany people.

Looking forward to the joint press conferences of Imran Khan with other leaders :)

That's what I meant. Peaceful transfer from one civilian gov to another is happening second time, right? Last election was the first time it happened. I am just going by my memory from PP posts.

Some more of this without interruption and democracy matures.

Yes.

In 2013 PPP(who got power in 2008) handed over power to PML-N.In 2018 PML-N handed over power to PT.

Lol at this statement.

IK has no power against the extremist Islamists. No way can he give equal status to the minority classes and especially Ahmadis, something Jinnah quite clearly mentioned in his own manifesto

Great speech. From the heart, to the point. Finally we have a PM who will actually go work from 8 am to 5 pm if not more.

Great summary Major

I think BEST part for me was last one about rigging issue, i was really hoping he wouldn't miss this point.

I demanded investigations on 4 constituencies but they refused, now that they are complaining, i will assist you in every way to investigate where you want. Brilliant!

The speech made me super emotional for some reason and he couldn't have delivered it better. There is no point taking revenge from critics and those launching personal attacks.

A brilliant start and dream come true!

Now MUST walk the talk which is MOST important.

Already fuming over it.. but Kashmiri media is applauding it

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

As overseas PK's our duty is to make sure that we send back money( remittances) through official channels, if we have incomes on properties to pay the full tax.

He has set really high expectations, his first real test is over, now the real test begins. He is going to be an honest man trying to lead a country with so many dishonest generals, bureacrats, politicians who will do anything to derail him while he tries to play by the rules. I hope he wises up and does not hesitate to be a dictator for the good of the country.

There is a part of me that feels that he has raised expectations too much, his sincerity is his strength and if he doesnt succeed, well it wont because he was always on the lookout for chances to make money at the expense of the poor PK's.

Ma sha Allah. Allah nazre bass sey bacheye.

Now it’s up to his minsters to work hard and stay honest and help him achieve these goals.

The opposition should also give him time, there is so much jealousy in Pakistan that I doubt it will happen but people need to get United for the bigger cause.

Hope he can do a good job for Pakistan. With him, you can be assured, because he at least has passion for the country, and knows first hand how happy the people get when you do something for the country (WC 1992)
