Now, this critique is not unique to Aamir, rather it applies to all Pak commentators not called Bazid Khan. However Aamir out of all the Pak commentators likes to consider himself a cricket intellectual, hence why he irks me the most.

Case in point he remarks regarding Sarfraz today.

Paraphrasing here

" why change when you are doing well, Sarfraz's success has come batting at 7 or 6"

Let's examine that

Sarfraz's average at 4 : 43, hs 77

Sarfraz's average at 5: 53, hs 103

Sarfraz's Average at 6: 24 ,hs 61

Sarfraz's Average at 7: 27, 64


It just shocking how little our commentators know

Aamir later mentioned his test stats, but you would hope that he knows this is a different format

Okay listening to Amir Sohail's bogus commentary and illogical expert suggestions are making me cringe so hard. Listening to him makes Ramiz sound like Benaud.

How on earth a guy as clueless as him is getting the big bucks for commentary jobs in Asia Cup.

Please make him leave, broadcasters of Asia Cup

Sarfaraz has done well at 7 in test but in LOIs his best has come while batting in the top order.

Just switched this on, and the first thing I hear from him is that Hasan Ali is reversing the ball. Given that they are using two new balls, the ball is hardly 10 overs old. So either he's insinuating something grave or he's utterly clueless. I'd bet the latter. Deserves to be fired for this comment alone.

Waqar Younis makes more grammatical mistakes. Amir Sohail sounds as if he's imparting the insight of the century while saying a very banal thing.

He just talked about the flow and momentum of this game and how Pakistan have built the pressure and then his next sentence was "Yeah I agree Pakistan is a very fertile land". )

It’s his voice for me, he’s not enjoyable to listen to. I could enjoy a game more with say urooj, baz, waqar, wasim or Ramiz. But Aamir’s voice isn’t easy on the ears.

I think he is a very good analyst of the game. He should appear more in post match analysis shows. Commentary doesn't suit him.

My point is that Aamir Sohail who isn’t hired by the PCB for PSL or their home matches, whilst others with no international pedigree are hired by them probably peeves him off. So he will do his best to look down on their product when commenting as the Pakistan commentator as a free lance


Watch him change his tune the moment it is the PCB paying his salary

His co commentator (don’t know his name) says Gayle’s S/R is 158 and AB is in the 140s. At this point Sohail is backed into a corner and tries to pivot, luckily Harris gets out and they change the subject otherwise it was a painful debate listening to this guy ramble.

There are a million ways to beat Doull in his own shoddy game. By the way, after Pakistan's so called, modern T20I basher wickets started tumbling like nine pins yesterday, Doull had to admit that he'll have Babar and Rizwan in his team. Amir couldn't even capitalise fully at that moment.

umm Aamir SOhail was correct.

De villiers and Gayles strike rate was 135 and 137.

Simon Doul was caught lieing on live tv by saying that no there strike rate is 158 or 140.

Is he just been blessed by the Berhay Bhai of Pakistan for his anti Imran Khan statements ?

I mean he is one of the worst Pakistan Commentators. Poor Analysis, Poor Research and bland commentary with no excitement.

Unfortunately he doesn't get well along with colleagues either. Mark Nicolas & Dominic Cork were having a good discussion about lighted nails not getting dislodged with a run out appeal and Amir was unhappy with them even giving their genuine view point. Than at another instance he wasn't happy with one female commie holding a view.


And sorry to say he Pakistan domestic players seem strangers to Aamir in the sense that he knows nothing about them. Even Ian Bishop or Nasser Hussain will be knowing them better as players.
