[VIDEOS] End of International Cricket for Sarfaraz Ahmed?

Keep high fiving yourself to feel high and mighty. As I said, saim, Babar and the people you back, it fell apart like a house of cards.

I told you back then and I'm telling the you the same thing now, this saim 44 avg and babar goat nonsense would bite you.
I am. I back Saim and Babar( although Babar needs up his game quickly or needs to be shipped out). Saim has enough to be successful but he could go the way of Farhat and others or he could create his own path.

Fair enough, you can back whoever, but don't come mocking me or telling me something is wrong with me for wanting to drop Babar for his plethora of embrassments since 2022 and then claim to throw numbers on me when babar numbers are their to see.

Same case with saim.

Sarfaraz is now 37.

I would like to believe his international career is over. Why would a cricket team go back to a 37 years old keeper-batter?

Sane case with saim.
Babar has used up his capital- he needs to perform or go. I am not here to love or hate anyone, i just look for guys that will help PK be more successful. Saim played 2 poor shots to get out but he has more potential than Imam. Imam is a better player at this point in time but he has reached his ceiling. Hurraira looks like a natural 3, a bit like Pujara but he like Imam is late on the ball against the faster bowlers. Hurraira is an excellent player of spin and in the SC that is half of the battle

I don't know if you're being serious or not,

But regardless I live sarfraz, he's a true ambassador for the sport which is why I'm looking out for him.

I'd rather not have him at a relatively old age play so you guys can bash him and I hear comments about him. Yeah no thanks.

If you wanted to make use of his immense talent and captaincy, maybe you shpuld have thought 2x before deciding babar is his captaincy replacement and rizzu is his keeping replacement.

He has no need to play for this crapola lot.
no I am serious. I have huge respect for Sarfraz especially the way he handled everything when Misbah removed him from the team.

I have realised that the decision to remove Sarfraz from captaincy is solely responsible for bringing the Pakistan team to this brink.
I am a fan of Rizwan. I think he has done very well in batting. But his batting did not benefit the team as much as the loss caused by Sarfaraz's removal.

Babar's captaincy has wreaked havoc on Pakistan cricket.
Rizwan could have played comfortably as a batsman in this team.

Removing Sarfi from red ball was the right call. Red ball could have been given to the likes of Azhar Ali until a suitable replacement was found in the likes of Saud Shakeel who should have made his debut 2 years earlier to begin with.

The issue isn't shift in captaincy, Of you bring sarfi back nothing will happen cause this nexus ain't going anywhere, he'll just be a dummy captain now.

The main thing was Sarfraz actually listened to the coaches while the current crop don't. Mickey was flawed but his key decisions like fakhar opener in all formats, Babar no 3 in all formats, Haris sohail no 4 in all formats etc etc did wonders for pakistan.

Dude developed a solid pool.

What PCB should have done is remove Mickey cause while he was good, he had run his course and get Gary Kristen to work qith sarfi.

Instead you brought Misbah who had his own SNGPL agendas at play. And then brought ramiz raja who was even worse, and then brought Naqvi who was even worse.

Looking how selfish Babar been as captain . I admire Sarfraz Ahmed he always kept team first he sacrificed his batting position so that he could accommodate hafeez and Malik . Before captaincy Sarfraz was playing at 4 and scoring runs but he dropped himself for cause of team . While Babar dropped Fakhar at 4 to accommodate himself and Rizwan . That is the difference.

Certainly, it is the end of Sarfaraz in white ball but he still have to be your number 2 choice in red ball. There is no one waiting in the dugout to replace rizwan and sarfaraz atm.

End of his career, okay no problem. I will start singing and play guitar.

Regardless of whether he's on the team or not, he serves as a model for how players should conduct themselves, even when they're not part of the starting lineup. He trains diligently, maintains his fitness, and openly acknowledges the superior performance of his teammates. He avoids making controversial or boastful statements

I think the mere presence of Sarfraz keeps Rizwan on edge, when Sarfraz is not there he will get too comfortable again

Pakistan red ball coach Jason Gillespie during commentary at Eliminator 1 match between Lions and Stallions:

“Sarfaraz has been a wonderful servant and has captained the country very well, but we know Saifi isn’t getting any younger. At some point, we’re going to need to start exploring and offering opportunities to some other players, and the same with spin bowling. There are a lot of young spinners on show in this tournament and in First Class cricket. We want to create depth in all disciplines. The domestic structure and the Shaheens will help with that.”

His own franchise team booted him out mid tournament, how does this pathetic thing keep coming back like a bad penny.

Sarfaraz should now step away from cricket with dignity. There's no point sticking with the team without any performance... It's time to give another player a chance.

Not sure if his career as a player is over or not but he is doing a work of a pigeon transferring messages.

Sarfaraz Ahmed has been dropped from the remaining second and third Tests against England, with selectors stating he has been rested.

Well I think good for him . Rather than just staying with squad a younger keeper can be groomed .

The token karachi player dropped after the other 3 stars all have some kind of link to Lahore
Hopefully he becomes a selector and works towards his coaching badges

Sarfaraz is now 37. I think it is over for him.

He has achieved good things during his short career. One of the 3 captains in history of Pakistan to win an ICC trophy (other 2 are Imran Khan and Younis Khan).

Sarfaraz Ahmed: Winning this trophy in 2017 was my career highlight - now Pakistan are ready to put on a show once more

The players are ready, the fans are ready and Pakistan is ready for an occasion 29 years in the making – the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.

When Pakistan play New Zealand in Karachi next week, it will mark the first senior ICC event held in my homeland since 1996 and to say we are bursting with excitement would be an understatement.

Karachi is a fitting host for the opening game and it will kick-start three weeks of brilliant cricket in a tournament that changed my life. Winning this trophy in 2017 was the best day of my cricket career. Although it is eight years ago now, every June when the anniversary comes round, I see videos on social media and it gives me goosebumps.

Pakistan have a really good chance of defending that title and I think they have a strong team. Some of the boys from 2017 are still there and we’re talking about some of the best – especially Babar Azam.

He is a different Babar to the one that played in 2017, a more mature player and a dominant player in the game. His batting will be so important for Pakistan and so will Fakhar Zaman’s.

With the ball, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf are brilliant bowlers and are playing well. The captain, Mohammad Rizwan, is also a wicketkeeper-batter, which worked pretty well for me back in 2017!

There will be pressure. Pakistan being at home, being the defending champions, there will be high expectations, but the fans will get behind them.

It is a stacked field, of course, every team can win it. I think Afghanistan have a really strong team, Australia and India as well. Their spin options are so good and you will need that to succeed in these conditions.

If I had to pick four semi-finalists, I’d probably go for Pakistan, India, Australia and Afghanistan at this stage, but I would not rule anyone out.

Of the pool matches, everyone will be talking about Pakistan’s match against India, and the game will be huge.

Whenever we meet, it is a special occasion and there is so much hype and pressure around it. But as players, you need to stay calm, try and block that noise out and just play with the same intensity as you would play Australia or any other team.

In 2017, we played India in our first match and were soundly beaten by 124 runs. It was my first game as captain and we were poor in all areas. Afterwards, we had a great team meeting, and some of our senior guys – Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez – all said their piece. You need those types of characters around you.

We changed our mindset from that day. The acrimony was very good for us, we made a couple of changes to the team and it helped our confidence. We beat South Africa and became unstoppable.

Our head coach, Mickey Arthur, and I were so confident we would do well. We had come through a really tricky series against the West Indies, which was key for 2019 World Cup qualification, and were the bottom-ranked side in the tournament. We felt we had nothing to lose and so took as much pressure as we could away from the players.

We played England in the semi-finals and our bowlers were just superb. Then, it was India in the final.

I was just confident our level was very high and my message to the players ahead of the final was to relax. We knew we had beaten some of the best teams, so India was nothing we had not seen. I told the guys to relax, forget the result and just give 100%. The rest is history.

When the last wicket went down and we won, it is impossible to describe that feeling in words. When I took the last catch, I was at gully. And I just ran. I saw Shoaib Malik and ran into his arms, I jumped into him and hugged him. The whole team then joined in. It was indescribable.

Whenever I know the date June 18 is coming, I see it online – that catch, that ball, that moment. Hasan Ali bowled the bouncer to Jasprit Bumrah, I took the catch. Amazing.

When I reached Karachi the next night, it was only 30 minutes before fasting time. I had my child and wife with me and there were people everywhere, inside the airport, outside the airport, there were local politicians, Pakistan Cricket staff and fans.

When I got home, there were thousands of people in the street. It took me ages to meet and greet everyone, and then I took the trophy up onto my balcony and held it up for the people to see. They were cheering and celebrating – it was amazing, amazing, amazing.

That is the power of an ICC tournament. And I can’t wait to see who will follow in our footsteps.

Basit Ali, while speaking on a TV show:

"Sarfaraz Ahmed took Pakistan to the No. 1 T20 team ranking, yet he was removed and Babar was imposed as captain. Who will ask how Babar became captain and then, after being removed, became captain again within three months?"

"Babar Azam maintained friendships to protect himself because he was a timid captain. He surrounded himself with a group, and the same manager controlled multiple players. No one questions the monopoly of these agents controlling player selections. Babar never changed his batting position, even when the team was struggling at the top order."

Former West Indies captain and Quetta Gladiators mentor Sir Viv Richards speaking during an interview:

“Sarfaraz Ahmed has always been a strong captain. He led from the heart.”

“Players who served Pakistan with such dedication for years will surely be remembered on the field.”

“As we move forward, I hope we continue to find players who carry Sarfaraz’s kind of passion.”

"Saud Shakeel is still a young captain and is currently learning."
