He should never play t20 while he’s miles better bat then ifti, kushdil, Salman etc. he should be in our odi line up. His off spin is far better then Salman too.
 
Bowl off spinner to him and he will bat like headless chicken
 
The manner of dismissals are a concern too.

Careless shots, poor running, ordinary cricket.

Not good enough for a senior player.
 
cant see how pak can continue with him if he fails in the final. altho historically he has a terrible record in the UAE, and general does better on quicker pitches, he seems like he's totally disintered at the moment.

Continue with who? There is literally no replacement for this guy. Pakistan cannot drop him.

he has a strike rate of 110 over the last year or so, nearly all of his good knocks in t20 came a few years ago in a few consecutive innings in Zimbabwe. he is making himself far from irreplaceable the way he's playing.

haider, and one or two of the top performers from the national t20 deserve a go in the bilateral t20s before the wt20.

regardless of whether he is replaced or not in the wt20, someone needs to light some fire under him again, cos there's definitely something not right mentally with him atm. maybe he needs a sports psychologist or something.

13 again by a batsman who has no technique or composure. If there is a better option for the final then chuck him out!
 
It’s silly how he’s defended by he can win a match on his day, he’s an impact player. He hardly ever performs or even scores fast, that’s why he averages 22 at 129 SR. Theres no point waiting 10 games for him to fire. The reason why Rizwan and Babar are performing as they’re almost scoring every other game. And they are significantly helping us win every other game as a result not 1 in 10. That average is also pretty kind to him, he’s been way worse in recent years even in ODIs while still respectful there’s quite a big fall off in average.

I’d get in someone else for no.3, countries have players with good records there, averaging over 30 at a healthy strike rate let alone just better than 22. I’d get in Masood, and shunt fakhar further down the order if we don’t want to drop him. He has had 70 t20 games to prove himself already, majority as an opener too, we need to be fair and give others chances.
 
He will come back because he is a dynamic batsmen.

However not sure so many chances should be given for a top order batsmen continuously. What’s the point keeping a extended squad on tour
 
Teams have figured him out. Spinners know that they can slow the ball down or bowl just short of a length because this hack cannot rotate the strike if his life depended on it and therefore it is only a matter of time before he plays a risky hack and gifts his wicket.

Similarly pacers know either to target him with short pitched stuff or bowl just short of a good length on his legs as he cannot deal with that length.

He does not deserve to be in the squad at the moment.
 
Fakhar gives a Razzak type of energy in the team.

Does not show much emotion but very capable of punishing bowling attacks.
 
Stupid wild throw from Fakhar which hit Shadab on the side of the head, and made his ear bleed badly.
 
Extremely poor Asia cup for Fakhar. Aside from the Hong Kong game no contributions. Time to move him back up the order?
 
Should’ve been taken out of his misery before the league game against SL

You should’ve brought in Haider for that game to warm up against SL for the final.

Like I said, there is something wrong with Fakhar. I'm not saying he's into drugs or something, but his mental and physical health needs to be investigated. I've never seen him like this before. He's called fouji for a reason.
 
Has a bit of Yuvraj Singh 2014 vibe about him.

Pakistan carried a passenger throughout the tournament - did not contribute when it mattered.
 
The bigger question is why on earth did the captain and management keep playing him..why why why
 
Needs to be dropped I was backing him to come good in the final but he has been terrible.
 
Should bave been dropped long ago in t20s. He’s been a complete flop and a passenger for a long time.
 
He will struggle in India too in the next World Cup. Was a complete failure in 2019 World Cup.
 
I’m his biggest fan but this was a disappointing series. More than the batting, it’s his fielding that’s a concern because he was so sharp before.

If he’s hungry and still wants to play he should only be included if they’re going to open with him. Number 3 is definitely not his spot.
 
On paper, for the sake of capitalizing on the power play, he needs to open and be told to attack and don't worry about failure.
 
Axe finally falls for Fakhar.

Omitted from squad for upcoming England T20Is, as CS Wasim cites a knee injury from fielding in Asia Cup final.

More importantly, omitted from main 15-man squad for the WC 2022 but part of the travelling reserves, implying that it's not a fitness problem.
 
He will be in the final 15 for the World Cup . There are fitness issues he was injured on the boundary fielding in the final .

Resting him for the England series will do him good .

It’s a straight shootout now between Ifti, khushdil, Shan and Haider .

Fakhar will replace one of them for the World Cup and the tri series .

He shouldnt be Hes been awful in t20s for a long time now Not just recently Hes deservedly been dropped He avges 22 Thats abysmal for a top order batter
 
Not a bad thing for him to have a break and then come back to cricket refreshed and hungry.

At the moment he doesn't look at his best and doesn't look like he's enjoying his cricket.
 
Haidar Ali would be a ideal replacement, however another anchor in the form of Shan now features.

And what does Iftikhar and Khushdil average even if we take average out of the equation due to playing in the middle order what is thier strike rate?
 
Seen enough of the replacements, Shan, Haidar and Kushdil do not come close to Fakhar potential.

Hope Fakhar wakes up and comes back strong.

Agreed bit he should return as an opener. Rizwan will find going tough in australia with his techniqe fakhar game is more suited for these pitches

I think Rizwan will be fine becouse anything short he will pull the ball but I don't expect any of Babar or Rizwan to drop themselves down at 3 even thou i agree one should.

No one will ball short to him its the fuller length outside off which is big weakness with his feet tied to the crease and trying to play ball with his hands way ahead of his body

This sort of technique on aussies pitches is difficult to survive due to the bounce pacers get.
 
Taking into account Pakistan batsmen in this series, there is no question that even a misfiring Fakhar deserves a place. Shan, Haidar and Kushdil have achieved nothing in international cricket.

Even on these dead tracks they tried to ball short and they will continue to try and ball short when in Australia that's what I think anyways let's waite and see.

Fakhar will complete his rehabilitation under the supervision of PCB’s Chief Medical Officer and team doctor Dr Najeebullah Soomro, following which decision on his participation, if required, will be made.
 
I’m assuming Fakhar will walk back into the team? Shan provided zero competition.

The problem with that is Fakhar is always sleepy, don't try to undermine the seriousness by saying a sleepy Fakhar like it's something that doesn't happen often.
 
There ar some indications in the media that Fakhar may replace Haider in tomorrow's match against NED. Will be interesting to see at what position he will bat with Rizbar firmly on the top and Shan providing some useful knocks so far.

I can't believe how wonderfully undercooked our batting line up is. Worst is there don't seem to be any spare batsmen in the squad. It's almost seems as if the entire coaching staff and team management thought Babar and Rizwan will each get a blistering 50-70 in every innings and the rest of the folks would just walk in hit and a few sixes. This is what happens when you get test era dinosaurs like Yousuf and Saqlain to manage today's game and implement Allah tawwaqul coaching method.



Where is that lad Kamraan Ghulam he seemed to be an ideal 4/5 bat for T20s but alas we are obsessed with Ifti chacha. They had a whole year to find a middle order and all they have come up with is playing Chacha and hack Haider. With Shadab and/or Nawaz randomly thrown around.

Fakhar on the whole is world class in white ball cricket . So there is nothing to be worried about if he is fit and firing .

A career strike rate of 122 with 3 fifties in his whole t20 career. Ideal.

Why do people think we are keeping Klusener and Maxwell at home in Pakistan?
 
Fakhar has been drafted to the playing eleven without any match practice. Would be interesting to see how he gets going
 
And how has he performed today? The usual story from fakhar

Plays a few good looking shots, has a hack or two and then gifts his wkt away

Yeah i think we saw enough today that a left/right combo at the top would be better for the remainder of the tournament where all our batsmen are struggling.

Fakhar did his usual underwhelming performance but the signs were there. His running was decent too.
 
for all his failing Fakhar has always played for Pakistan first, and that in a team like ours is worth its weight in gold.

I still remeber his top score of 94 against australia. He got in the 15th over trying to maintain the run rate. Would Babar or Rizwan ever do that, or Shan if he could ever dream of getting near that score? They would just slow down for their 100.
 
Benefit of Fakhar is that if he faces 40 balls, unlike Babar, Rizwan and Shan he has the ability to accelerate.

I mean this is definitely true. When Fakhar gets his eye in he can be devastating. The others can't do this. But Fakhar has barely gotten to 40 runs lately, let alone balls.

Ideally we would match the consistency of RizBab with hitters like Fakhar. But it's going to take years to find them.

Greatest Pakistan opener since Saeed Anwar.

A real impact / clutch player too. He should have played more test cricket than he did.
 
Started to get bogged down today and you could feel he was getting frustrated and would play a wild shot.

100 for the taking today, but he missed out.
 
The talent is there, it’s very evident watching him.

250 are the sort of Targets where openers should be looking at an easy unbeaten 100. Yet Fakhar just creates pressure for himself with poor strike rotation and then played a dumb shot. Are batsmen are not ruthless enough.

Ruthless enough he averages 45 at 93 strike rate which is similar to Rohit and Warner.
 
Strike rotation is a problem for him. He can be got at, if he ain't getting runs.

A target like this and Warner or rohit would have got a nice easy unbeaten 100 and the total will have been chased down in 35-40 overs

Yeah this is the thing with Fakhar. He pretty much only has two gears - free flowing or stuck.

This is why he either looks incredible or is completely out of touch.

This isn't the most motivated Kiwi attack either. Better teams can set plans for Fakhar and he will get himself out.
 
Difference with Fakhar is he has played innings no Pakistan top order is capable off. Everyone knows that whenever he clicks it’s game.

I think a influence such as Mickey would do him wonders
