Sohaib had shown really really poor game awareness. He is better than that. Somebody needs to tell him that there is a difference between bravery and stupidity and batting at number 6 does not give you license to be stupid.

He is not better than that. If he was, he wouldn’t be doing the same thing in all his career. He’s done and dusted at this level
 
He's not fit enough to last more than 5 overs anyway. Can't run, and absolutely cannot be counted on to play a long innings. He will give you 25-30 runs on average and if the management is happy with that then he's doing his job well.

Pakistan dictionary of defining roles is serious comedy.
-Accumulator: Should not have the ability hit long, and can only hit/run in the circle.
-Hitter: Should not have the ability to rotate strike or play ground shots. Only hit in the air.
-All rounder: Should have glaring limitation with both bat and ball.

100% right...That is why they are finding it difficult to co-exist with the modern day of cricket... Still singing those glorified 92 WC win..

The game has evolved with skills, mindset, fitness, etc.. These guys bring rookies from every street corners who look very confused doesnt know how to field, run between wickets, how to defend or attack , how to swing or seam the bowl, delivery stride, and the coaches who doesnt know the modern mechanism used to make them injury free...

these ppl deserved to be in the league of WI, SRL, ZIM, BAN, IRELAND and continue to keep playing against them and leave the rest, so no more embarrassment like losing to ENG C team..

Very true, they always have and they have always even preferred one dimensional players in the team. If a Pak batsman have good defense he will be defensive through out the innings, if he is a powerhitter he will play in the air for taking even singles. There are very few names in the entire history of Pakistan cricket those can be remembered as a complete batsman.
 
Not quite hitting the heights of PSL6.

A few big hits mixed in with a few wild slogs.

109 runs in 5 innings at an awful strike-rate of 110.

Sohaib has had his chance and he has let himself and the fans down big time.

Time to look at someone else.
 
Islamabad only have themselves to blame by benching a much capable and consistent Maqsood and preferring frauds like Azam & Asif in the playing XI.

On merit Maqsood should be captaining Islamabad, rather than Tik Toker Shadab Khan.

Maqsood could never play the Innnings Azam Khan played.

A higher quality player would have made sure he saw his team home with a 70 or 80 not out.

Agreed. His strike rate towards the end was unacceptable.
 
He should have played at better SR and should have stayed till the end but it seems he lacks confidence as he hasn't got consistent opportunities of late.

The problem is he always plays with hard hands so his ability to rotate the strike is impaired. Iftikhar also has a similar problem.

Looks a million dollars when he hits a boundary but in between the boundaries they eat up too many deliveries resulting in a low strike rate.
 
He is the same player he was 5 years ago hits the ball hard but does not know how to rotate strike.
 
In SPL 2024, playing for Benazirabad Lals against Karachi Ghazis, Sohaib Maqsood scored 42 runs off 34 balls. Known for his T20 skills, it's puzzling me why he hasn't been given consistent chances in T20Is.

he got consistent chances though but he couldnt grab any

could be a very good T20 batter but luck was not with him.
