[VIDEOS] "I needed to prove my form and my fitness and I did that" : Hassan Ali

When will this torture end. A truly rubbish cricketer. If he plays any games in odis. I hope we lose.

Hasan Ali took 2 wickets in two test Let that sink in

I had to look twice to see if I was reading his Test series against Australia stats correctly:

Bowling average of 96
Batting average of 4.33
I guess you can hide the average players for too long..

I was bang on when I said don't pick this guy and give that mir hamza a go who is short but is strong and stocky bustly and can move the new ball.
Hamza or dahani could have been selected or even shinwari

I actually thought they may have dropped him for the 3rd Test, but brave selections seem to be beyond us at the moment.

Needs to be dropped.

Should play next domestic season and perform if he wants to make a comeback.

A shambolic performance by Hassan Ali and should not play any of the limited over matches. Overall rating of 2/10.

He has no pace, no life in his bowling and has been a failure in all formats in recent months , but we are nice people we respect seniors and cannot be disrespectful to them by dropping them. Losing a world cup or test series is not more important than respecting a senior phast bowler.

His fielding is not showing any signs of improvement.

No, you don't. You can be in the team without performances as long as you have friendship with captain and PCB big shots.

No control with the ball today.

Bowling too many freebies on both sides of the wicket.

Hardly surprising. No matter what the format, Hassan Ali is the true definition of a rubbish bowler. A good performance for him is the exception to the norm. Many, many Pakistani bowlers have been discarded long before reaching this level of failure. Hassan seems to have cast some sort of spell over the selectors and management that no matter how much he fails, he is still first pick every time.

absolute shocking why he keeps being selected Its one poor performance after another from him How long can the coach and captain keep backing him with a straight face?

Looked too innocuous today. The energy and zip is definitely missing. Looks a bit down on pace as well.

Is he carrying any injury or just being lethargic?

Exactly!!! Must have some serious connection to continue with so many failures. Head coach himself is unfit to hold the position. Even Assistant coach has better skill than so-called head coach. Same goes with batting/bowling coaches. None of them has any skill to teach others. There is no fielding coach.

Should have been the leader of the attack but was the worst bowler in the attack and has been happening for many games now.

Just like the spin stocks, who do we really have that is an obvious test match replacement?

Dhani is on the fringes but he's played 10 FC games in his life. His average (32) isn't even that great for those matches.

Rauf is absolutely not a replacement for 5 day cricket.

Hassan needs to go but the likelihood is that Dhani will come in, get smashed about and we'll have another Musa/Naseem situation where a player is being blasted by the fan base when really they are far too raw.

Nah. These are just cliched sweeping statements with no attempt towards problem solving. I don't get the impression that you know much about the domestic scene either.

1. Hasan doesn't need to be dropped from the test team. While he should be nowhere near white ball teams, he hasn't done that badly to deserve sacking from tests. That being said, only Shaheen should be an undisputed starter, others should fight for their spots. For that we need to add a pacer or 2 in test squad.

2. Not sure what you mean by 'obvious' replacement. Hamza, Gul, Ehsan, Irfanullah have great domestic records. If that makes them obvious then yeah, these are the guys. Dahani will be a selection on potential and he indeed has the highest ceiling of them all. Waseem has decent potential too. My picks would probably be Irfanullah and Dahani, all things considered.

3.For the umpteenth time, the spin stocks aren't really dry when you consider the job they have at hand. They just have to match (horrible) Yasir. Pick anyone of Sajid(turners), Shadab, Saifi Abdullah, Gohar, Ashgar, Ali Usman and I can guarantee you they will easily match or better Yasir's output. The bar is very low.
They then become better options than Yasir simply by virtue of their younger age. Most of them provide batting depth too.

These guys are atleast more experienced than the rookies SL is turning to (Theekshana, wellalage). If they too had our mindset, they would probably still be playing Herath.

Sameen Gul is one option. Could've debuted in 2019 instead of Naseem and Musa.

Being ignored by the selectors despite having a good record.

Whos fault is it that guys like dahani, naseem, rauf dont play FC cricket? Theyve been on the scene for a while now Theres no reason why they shouldnt have 30-40 fc games each if they are serious about test match cricket

They can rack up 100s of t20 games but cant play a dozen fc games a year

Bowlers that dont play FC cricket should be told straight they wont get picked Its time deserving players who actually play fc get picked rather than players who take it the easy option

Im sick of hearing these are the only guys we have These are not Its the bowlers that are topping fc charts i want to see Just like kamran ghulam etc who top the batters chart

Lets start rewarding fc cricketers Otherwise whats the point them playing it

Don't think Hassan Ali can handle the strain of playing all formats. His workload needs to be monitored and managed. I would like the selectors to introduce a rotation policy for our pacers in all formats because everyone's speeds have been far lower of late ie Shaheen, Hasan Ali and Naseem.

We should take a leaf out of how the Australians manage their pace bowlers.
