Catches win matches. Afghanistan really need to improve their catching if want to win games. England and New Zealand on top. Pakistan having better stats then india. That is some acheivement since 2019.

India were brilliant against Australia. Hope they can maintain that consistency on the field.

Not easy, but cricket is a game of inches and moments like this end up hurting

This one was a sitter. Two dropped catches in the span of a couple of overs

I'm thankful that Sri Lanka is kind of reciprocating our poor fielding effort. Poor communication between the fielders resulted in a 6.

The Sri Lankan sub-fielder Hemantha takes a stunner at a crucial moment in the game. He dives so fast that my screen shot cannot take it clearly

Sri Lanka has dropped 3 catches in 5 mins. We don't look so bad anymore

Starc and Stoinis drop two sitters in the same over. You rarely see this from the Aussies

Who would have thought that Australia would be at the bottom of this list

Australia is already feeling the pressure right from the start of the WC and these dropped catches are a clear indication of that.

It would be interesting to see how they will comback from this position in the tournament.

Bangladesh dropped a couple of catches but has also shown some great feats on the pitch.
Great work by Liton Das on the boundary here, while it was not a wicket he had great presence of mind by throwing the ball back into play

David Miller was dropped on 27 by de Leede at a pivotal moment in the game against South Africa. The ball was skied above the flood lights, which could have blinded the fielder momentarily.

It's good to see the older players of the game making the biggest impact on the field. Kohli 34, Root 32, and Warner 36 still throwing themselves around like plates at a Greek wedding

And Babar drops an absolute sitter at slip too.

Captain not leading from the front in the field.

SL were 52-2 chasing 265 and Edwards missed stumping of Sadeera who was on 0. Sadeera went on to score an unbeaten 91 and SL won by 5 wickets.

Netherlands missed out on opportunity for creating another upset.

It was Rauf's last over. Needed Last 2 wickets to win, bowls a delivery, ball is in the air and short, he runs to it, dives in, adjust his arm, and uses his weaker hand to make one of the greatest catches and keep Pakistan in the hunt.

Was a legitimately great catch and was shocked he made it. I love Haris, but hard to keep a spot in an ODI team when you’re bad in your first spell and only good in the death.

Nissanka drop catch when Afghanistan still needed 26 runs to win. It was a very difficult chance though.

New Zealand all-rounder holds lead for fielding impact at World Cup

Mitch Santner has shown his versatility by jumping a host of his contemporaries to hold the lead in the race to have the biggest impact in the field at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.

While the New Zealand all-rounder only has four catches in six matches at the World Cup, his impact in the field is much greater than that with the experienced Kiwi having also made a mark in a variety of other fielding categories.

The 31-year-old has been adjudged to have saved a total of nine runs in the field, while he also sits high in categories for pressure ratings, good throws and attempted run outs.

It means Santner holds a narrow lead in the race for overall fielding impact through six games for each side at the World Cup, with South Africa's David Miller and Australia's David Warner his closest challengers.

Virat Kohli had led the way after three matches for each side at the tournament, but the India batter has dropped to sixth on the current list with teammate Ravindra Jadeja jumping in front of him into fifth.

It means there are two players from India inside the top 10 for fielding ratings, with Australia the only other side to have a pair of their stars - Warner (third) and Glenn Maxwell (eighth) - among the top 10.

But it is South Africa that leads the way in the team fielding ratings, with the Proteas having claimed a total of 44 catches - seven more than any other team - while also amassing the highest amount of runs saved in the field at 44.

Netherlands are in second place in the team fielding ratings on the back of having the second-fewest amount of dropped catches with six, while reigning champions England are third having dropped the least amount of catches with four.

Seems like Pakistan is maintaining their excellent feilding standards in this World Cup as well. Some easy ones have been dropped in those 6 drops but overall it is good.

Adam Zampa takes a brilliant diving catch at the boundary to end the David Willey's innings.

In today's game, Afghanistan dropped a couple of catches of Maxwell that costed them the game. The drop catch by Mujeeb was really a straight-forward catch that should have be taken. Afghanistan fielding has been a concern for them and if they want to win any big tournaments, they have to make significant improvement in this department.
