What's new

[VIDEOS] "If you think that by marrying Aishwarya Rai, a good and pious kid will be born, that would never happen": Abdul Razzaq

What he was basically indicating was that Babar and co. had intentions for personal glory but hoped that personal success would resonate in the success of their nation.

He tried to be funny with his analogy. Should not have stated those misogynistic remarks.

What did he even mean by this though? Like what he is implying here? I understood when Afridi was talking about women cricket but this comment makes no sense to me.
I think he's given an example that if he marries Aishwarya rai and have a child with her how can he expect the child to be a religious pious child, as Aishwarya rai is an actress and a lot of things she's does is not part of the Islamic religion

that's my guess

I speculate in his mind, in some weird way, he was showing restraint by naming Aishwariya Rai instead of say Sunny Leone, an actress with a past in the adult film industry. Being on Pakistani media he probably didn't want to name drop her and instead went for the next alternative he could think of for his analogy. He probably doesn't even know that Aishwariya is a family woman with a kid

So it seems like i am going to be the only person who will stand by Razzaq bhai and i am proud of the fact that i am that bloke.

The cancel culture is disgusting.
It’s trying to make its way now to our society. People needed to understand that Razzaq is not a man with great vocabulary and also by his own nature and through encouragement by people around him, he’s been led to continue his bold style of cricket commentary. He went away with a lot of OTT statements in the past but finally they got him using the strongest card that exists today.

What Razzaq wanted to convey had nothing to do with Aishwarya or women. It was just a bad example
and now they want to cancel him and sadly it’s his fellow Pakistani cricketers who are so eager to throw him under the pass because they deem his aggressive commentary a threat to them , also some are trying to settle score for past grudges.

I feel sorry for Razzaq bhai.
He has even apologised and we should move on rather than cancel him.

Razzaq has already apologized I guess. The problem with us people is that we will bash one person for his wrong doings or statements but when the same person apologizes than we do not forgive him for that stuff. Poor us.

Aishwarya was the ultimate beauty icon of their time (2000s). It’s a bit like players of the 80s not getting out of the fascination of Zeenat Aman’s beauty even today.

IMO people need to chill out. He shouldn’t have said her name, that’s not on. His argument is fair, but is questionable too from a spiritual pov

He said it on purpose. He knows things like that become viral.

His apology was half hearted and ingenuine as well.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Conservative households has low opinion on women in showbiz. They see world in black and white.
Razzaq's views will be criticized by liberal minded people. But canceling anyone for airing their opinions is rubbish to say the least. You have to counter opinions with your own opinions and proof. Shutting off someone for airing their views is incorrect.

That’s unfortunate but tbh I don’t expect much from Razzaq, I would had been shocked had Wasim/Inzi talked like this.

She has also been very gracious, she is not like Kangana or others giving silly interviews for publicity.

But yes a family woman with a kid , I think as i get older I realise there needs to be some decency in the way we talk.
Maybe that’s me getting grumpy after seeing its become cool to insult.

"Woh Dekho Aishwarya Rai naach rahi hai" - Rahul Gandhi

Indians were very critical of Razzaq and rightly so. However, will they go after this third grade cheap clown prince dynast same way?
