Him and Sharjeel should be picked over Asif and Khushdil

Besides those two innings in Australia, he has looked like a tail-ender in pretty much every innings he has played at international level. Some players just aren’t cut out for top level cricket, Iftikhar is a clear example of one of them.
Lol Chacha is going to get trolled for the next 30 years for this
Well Rana, i thought he would be trolled for the next 30 years? Now you suddenly want him in the world cup…

It seems like Malik being picked ahead of Ifti is a big injustice to him. Some of Iftikhar Ahmed's latest scores:
45* off 17 balls
54* in 26 balls
33* off 21 balls
55* off 34 balls
58 off 34 balls
36 off 18 balls
40* off 25 balls

His age also plays a part in that aspect. Not saying Malik or Asif Ali are some world beaters, for me they are all basically the same and will deliver similar results. He has barely looked international level in the minimal chances he has got. This is after watching him bat like a tail-ender in both ODIs and T20s when Misbah was in charge.Hes still avging 42 in t20s
Theres a clear bias on how some players get a unlimited amount of chances and others are discarded after a handful

Hussain Talat has more of a case for being aggrieved, as he was discarded after literally two innings against South Africa recently. The lad had a couple of really good knocks against South Africa in South Africa under Mickey, but was thrown out. He also played two blinders for CP in the first half of the tournament, before the squad was announced, while Iftikhar was doing half-decent.
I agree though on this fraud Asif Ali getting chance after chance, despite nothing to show for it.
Pakistan fans have the memory span of a goldfish. Iftikhar had become a meme a year or so ago, when he botched a super over against Zimbabwe of all teams and now he is the hero we dont deserveWhat does it mean like barely looking like international standard? He has got very limited chances in T20I that too at no. 5 and 6. And whenever he has been asked to play there he has delivered in majority of the cases. Look at his T20I games. He remained not out in a few because he came in late to bat or even at times did not even got to bat.
Asif and Malik at current form are not above Iftikhar

The guy has an average of 20.5 in the five innings he has played in Pakistan, with a SR of 110 at number 6. Reading comments here, you would feel he was the second coming of Mike Hussey being denied a spot in the XI.
All three of Malik, Asif or Iftikhar will give the same output at number 6. Iftikhar has only been good for two innings out of 23 innings he has played so far in international cricket. He has been below average at best in the 21 other innings he has been given to showcase his abilities across all formats.

Majority of his games have been when Misbah became head coach, so 2019-2020 basically. How many years and times are these 23 innings scattered over?
This chopping and changing needs to stop It hinders players confidence and development repeatedly being dropped and brought back and having to keep starting over and over again
Confidence and backing needs to be given not fear that you have 2-3 innings to prove themselves or your out
Very few players are ready made They develop over time in intnl cricket
Absolutely incredible recent performances. He proved without doubt that the selectors have made a mistake by not picking him.
To think we're taking Khushdil and Asif over this guy. Absolutely absurd.
People used to write that he freezes at the big ocassions. This should shut them up for a while. A textbook AR performance.
It is the biggest domestic final after PSL.This is a big occasion?
With stats like that, deserves to be picked over asif Ali, a better fielder than him also.
Iftikhar Ahmed in the National T20 Cup:
Innings 12
Not Outs 8
Runs 409
Average 102.25
Strike-rate 170.41
Fifties 3
Sixes 24
Fours 36
This is a big occasion?
How about his bowling? today that 3 for 5 was crucial.
Not only has he been brilliant with the bat in the National T20 Cup - Iftikhar Ahmed has also taken 8 wickets for 106 runs from 19 overs at an economy rate of just 5.57
Iftikhar Ahmed - enjoying the limelight

There’s a big question mark still over his ability to do this in international cricket but even I concede that on the back of these performances, he deserves to be selected for the T20 World Cup.
If the middle-order batting fails at the World Cup, there will no doubt be lots of questions asked regarding his omission from the squad.

Absolute Monster tournament! Glen Maxwell of Pakistan!!
Defo should be in the team for T20 in Aus as he is good finisher on bouncy tracks as well as decent off spinner
Like for like replacement for Sir Mohammed Sobers Hafeez
