Debatable. Imam Ul haq has gone toe to toe with Babar in most of the matches Babar played in the last couple of years. One common thing. Vast majority of the matches were held at Karachi/Lahore and other similar pitches. Against regular test nations he has played only 3 matches away from home in the last 2 years. Babar world no.1 Fakhar world no.2 Imam world no.5. Dawid Malan has made 3 back to the wall centuries in the last 2 years. One in SA, one in OZ, One in BD.

He is dangerous and in the conversation for sure, but I feel like his star is starting to wane, he doesn’t incite the same fear he use to, it’s routine now him quitting against Pakistan’s new ball bowlers. Babar’s consistency is taken for granted, and I accept there is scope for him to run away with the gong because he can get even better, but others at this time are simply not on his level / have a lot to do over a longer period.

A player with T20 avg of 27, ODI avg of 46 and Test avg of 37 is the best all format batter. Even if Babar retires from 1 format, he will still out score Bairstow.

Babar has almost 3k more runs, 8 more tons and he is 5 years younger than him. Good weekend jokes mate.

That guy has the most ducks in IPL this season, struggling to score 10 runs, no one remembers when his last ton was. Looks more like Sumo wrestler than a cricketer. Definitely best in the world. :sarf_facepalm

3 ODI double 100s

5 hundreds in a WC.

Test match record very similar Babar.

Won India a T20 WC.

All this without a truckload of matches on flat tracks, tiny grounds against B or C teams.

So while Babar is the world's best all formats batter on PP, outside of that there are quite a few players who lay claim to that title.

He has the second most tons in the history of T20 cricket only behind Chris Gayle, 3 international tons, countless match winning performances. 33 50+ scores, leading run scorer at a WC. He is easily by far the greatest batsman of this generation, no one even close to him currently. Has achieved ATG status by playing merely 100 ODIs. Unbelievable.
 
KL Rahul, Gill and Shreyas Iyer are competing with Babar for the spot of no.1 Asian ODI batsman currently.

You don’t need to tell me who I would rather have out of Gayle and Babar in T20.

There are a hundred players before Chris Gayle even who I would pick before getting to Gayle over Babar.

Don’t insult my reading of this game by presenting hundreds made against Zimbabwe, NZ and SA b sides

Baber's haters do not have a reading of a game to insult in the first place.

Baber Azam has been one of the most consistent Pakistani batsman over a generation, sure one can be critical of his captaincy, but when it comes to his batting and technique, the only reason to hate Baber, it to hate Pakistan, but asylum thinking is to hate Baber because of his batting position too.

When one hates a player because of batting position, it is beyond the mind, and into the soul.

His batting positions in all 3 formats are also optimal IMO. He is not some cricketer, he is Babar Azam, the shiniest diamond of the cricket fraternity. Those who can't respect him, can't respect the game. Period.

He is a good batsman

No one denies that. Shai Hope is a good batsman too. Doesn’t mean he is a great T20 batsman as well

That is also an incorrect statement, exactly like your mind. Babar scored a World Cup 50 against Rashid on a turning track in WC 21 and a valuable 45 runs in 2019 WC. It isn't Babar's fault that bowlers are falling of his pockets because he is keeping everyone there.

Rankings are useless, I can show you players from UAE that are higher in the rankings than the likes of Buttler.

Virat Kohli has 8 gears, he can crank it up whenever he wants to.

Babar has 2 gears, one of them is the reverse gear when he’s approaching a personal milestone.

5. Won 2 T20 trophies (KK, ISLU)

He's the best all format batter in the sense that there are no real all format batters left. Most focus on 1 or 2 formats.

Joe Root cant get into the England T20 side.

Bobby isn't the best batter in any particular format no matter what the rankings say. An ODI batter with a strike rate of 89 in this day and age being the best is laughable .

Same with T20's.

Also, his Test batting is not on par with Root or Khawaja etc.

Babar is easily head and shoulders above anyone else in ODIs, you may revisit the number of runs, no. of tons, no. of match winning knocks, no. of match chasing knocks and Bobby leads the chart there. He is easily amongst top 3,4 players in Tests and T20is that makes him the best all-format batter.
 
To be fair he is not looking that comfortable these days but seems to be making decent runs. He is not dominant and hesitates to take on top bowlers. Peak Kohli would have had the ego to take down Rashid. Babar has no ego which is good and bad.

That's just your bias talking. He's not heads and shoulders above all ODI batsmen. Even among top order batters, Bairstow is probably the most impactful batsman going around.
