He is clearly not good enough. He is extremely overhyped because PCB faked his age and promoted him as some prodigy who was ready to take the world by storm at the age of 16.

The reality is that he is as old as Shaheen who is twice the bowler.

People are oblivious to his mediocre performances and like Shadab, he is one of those players who don’t need to perform to be rated.

He averages 36 in Tests after a good sample size of 15 Tests, he has failed in every major country he has played in but the excuses don’t stop. Bad captain, bad luck, bad pitches, bad franchise, fitness etc.

Apparently, everything and everyone is a problem except Naseem himself.

In addition to being awful in Tests, he only took 3 wickets in the entire T20 World Cup, he has been poor in this PSL and although he has had a good start to his ODI career, 3 of his 5 matches have come against Netherlands.

It is time for his fans to accept that he is not the bowler they think he is and stop hyping him to the moon. He was, is and will be average.

Naseem, Hasnain, Rauf and Dahani. All of them are mediocre. Pakistan has only one world class fast bowler and we all know who he is.

I think, if Quetta are smart, they’ll trade him to PZ for Saim and Haseebullah. Saim will want to come because Quetta is Karachi 2.0 and he can open and Haseebullah in the past has expressed interest in playing for QG because he is Baloch.

You can still unearth a decent fast bowler from the domestics by the time PSL9 happens. But if you get a young Saim and Haseebullah, you’ve sorted out your WK and Ipener position for the next decade.

Rightly so why would anyone want to play under a clown like Sarfraz and the last sentence is spot on he is too good for a pathetic franchise like Quetta. Should move from this Karachi team playing under the banner of Quetta.

This is most certainly not a “fact”. He bowled well today as he has most tournament.

Quetta has badly missing a wrist spinner. They pinned all their hopes on nawaz (believe he was platinum pick?) who is just not as effective in these conditions as was in the uae.

And then the rest of the cast is hardly inspiring with umaid and odean. Husnain injury hasn’t helped either.

Tbh i dont want him to waste himself in useless leagues like psl ,bpl etc and IPL dont take pakistani players anyway. Our players are playing too many t20 games and when it comes to test cricket they dont know how to bowl. Our premium fast bowlers shaheen and naseem should play selective t20 games only to avoid fatigue ,burnout and injury.

Naseem is a very good and very intelligent bowler , who has improved a lot lately .

Whole team QG is messed up, no leadership no direction . The worst batsman is batting at # 3 .
Batting order being changed everyday .
Guptill , after that great century is sitting out.
Umar Akmal came to bat # 7
Husnain was bowling very good, not sure he is unfit or just dropped after one bad over to Azam Khan .
Chacha not dropped , he should be kicked out for ever , enough .

Get rid of Sarfraz from next season and make Naseem the captain , he will be better captain than Shadab and Shaheen, he always looks a very intelligent young man to me.

He’s too scared to pitch it up. He doesn’t want to get hit and that’s why he isn’t taking wickets but is keeping a decent economy

His whole two overs to Munro were back of a length and not utilising the swing. Of course Munro found it difficult to get him away but he wasn’t shying away from trying to pull him every ball, which should indicate that Naseem has been bowling too short as a new ball bowler

Every bowler cannot bowl the same way. Every bowler has his own strengths and weaknesses. You want him to bowl like Shaheen, he isn't Shaheen. He has his own style and it can complement Shaheen well.

But he is still a really good new ball bowler. 2/3 times in his games vs India, he was successful in his 1st over. Vs SL in Asia cup final too.

More than his length, if he nails his lines with the new ball like Shaheen does, he will improve a lot.

But overall, I like what I see from Naseem, and no reason for alarm or discouragement.

The art of picking wickets is learned through experience. He’s got very little exposure at domestic level and is forced to hone his skills in a very demanding atmosphere of international cricket. Naseem is a class act we just need to be a little more patient. We’ve already seen glimpses of his talent in numerous spells at the top level.

He’s not a spearhead. However Quetta do have a half decent bowling attack w/ him, Hasnain, Aimal and Nawaz. Now, if they only find a leg spinning Pakistani alrounder, they would be sorted.

I will fully agree about Hasnain, Dahani and Rauf. They are all terrible. Add Musa Khan to the list who's probably the worst bowler I've ever seen emerge from Pakistan.

But with regards to Naseem Shah, I think he has something in him. He does swing the new ball and seams it when there is help from the wicket. He made Ben Stokes look like a complete fool in the World Cup final. You can't do that if you are rubbish.

The problem is there is no one in the Pakistan setup who can nurture and improve him. Waqar, Wasim, Aqib, Azhar Mahmood they are all rubbish bowling coaches and cannot improve a bowler at all. What Naseem needs is a Bharat Arun. If he was able to play IPL with KKR, you would see Naseem a completely different bowler to what he is right now.

At this point, Naseem is at the Ishant Sharma stage pre-Bharat Arun. Ishant was a terrible bowler. An absolute joke. But his fortunes changed when he came under the tutelage of Bharat Arun. Naseem is at a cross-road. He needs someone who can hold his hand and guide him to the levels where he can actually become a leading bowler for Pakistan as he has the pace and the swing.

He is almost always going to be the complementary pacer to the leader. He's been doing that role fine. But QG are trying hard to have him be the attack leader and be amongst the top wicket takers.

He'd be better suited to a more professional franchise. IU desperately needs an opening pacer who can keep it tight.
