As some other posters have mentioned he’s worse than even Ahmad Shahzad and he plays exactly like him. So So much premeditation, planted feet, and all leg side hoicks in case something clicks.

Absolutely woeful and no place in international cricket.

PPers here can be forgiven as most folks do not have the eye to judge talent and they only look at X runs scored in domestic tournament.

That is never a criteria of selecting international class players —- you don’t select the highest scorer, EVER! You choose someone who has the game, range of shots and also is able to score. Not just score with planted feet and hoick to long on.

He’s always been second, third, fourth choice tbh. Even when he was in the squads they were reluctant to pick him. Because as you said when you watch him he doesn’t look talented. I don’t think PCB have ever rated him highly.

I think he is just playing because we’ve gone through everyone else. Haris, Abdullah, Usman all aren’t seen as good opening prospects. They tried Fakhar opening again but quickly figured he’d be better down the order again. So there’s not much left right now.

Who would you go for instead?
 
RizBar can only dream of scoring 44 ball 40, and getting so much praise. Farhan dis hit some chakkaas, I know some posters here fancy chakkaas but whats the point striking at 90 for a so called modern day opener.

Sorry but I am disagree,the wickets were falling frequently so for me it was correct to try and occupy the creese.

He was occuyping the crease like that against Oman as well scoring 29 in 29 balls. Either he lacks strike rotation skill or he is safeguarding his position. Both are bad.

First game I agree should have gone alot harder, however against India they were loosing more wickets.

This was his issue the first time he was dropped when he debuted

He improved a lot since and his return showed he’s a much matured white ball batter.

I don’t think he consciously looks for singles. His way of taking them is to Bosh the ball hard looking for boundaries but then finds fielders

I don’t mind it, but his boundary hitting ratio should be a lot more if that’s the case. 2-3 boundaries per over as long as he’s on strike.

Hypocrisy is supporting Farhan even though his strike rate was 90 and strike rotation was poor.

Farhan is fine.. No issues with him atm.. But his game has been below par as people were expecting more from him

We are criticizing everyone who is playing at a below par strike-rate. Farhan has not been fine at all, he has been below average since he came to the UAE. Even a mediocre Haris has played an impactful innings, but this guy has done literally nothing.

I am struggling to understand after all the hoopla, we are still going at 5-6 RPO in the middle overs. The lack of skill is mind-boggling.
 
Farhan has actually been one of the quicker players since he came into the team. His overall strike rate looks lower because of past failures. For 2025 is sr is just over 130. Which again I know is not incredible. But he consistently played at higher sr at Bangladesh series where others struggled. I think a lot of the rest are more guilty of padding their stats against weaker associate nations or easy conditions like Haris for example. Farhan for a long time even in domestic was actually considered a non aggressive player as people used to point at his low sr despite the high averages. But it seems he is trying to be aggressive since the recall.

Agha is a much bigger problem striking at 113.

None of these guys have really shown they are better in performance than Rizwan and Babar yet. I think it’s just over eagerness to move on from them. Performances against UAE, Oman etc. don’t prove that. These guys are still in the potential stage, so we have to persist with them for now until some of them start clicking. Most of these guys (bar maybe Agha) have shown better hitting abilities. Yes maybe they can’t do it against stronger sides or not, but we’ll have to wait and see. I think it’s best to just to play these guys for about a year in more or less settled positions. Particularly the two openers in Saim and Farhan, and Hasan lowest at 4.
 
T20 batsmen should be able to access atleast 90 degrees on one side fairly easily. Cannot have 180 degree game on one side 20 degree on other side. Teams can contain you. Also should have game against various lengths. Moment someone identifies this is your weakness they can bowl there ball after ball and stifle you. These guys are fairly new to internationals in terms of familiarity. More they play more they will get exposed. Teams will have better plans.

It is interesting to see that the court jesters are still trying to find a way to defend him.

Let’s be honest for once — there isn’t a team in the world that would pick him over Babar except the current brain-dead PCB management, and they will do on this hill very very soon.

There is a significant difference in class between Babar and Farhan. However, as is often the case, you are far too quick to pass judgment. All of Pakistan’s key batsmen underperformed/flopped against India, but Farhan deserves a few more opportunities. You never know—he might deliver a far better performance if Pakistan faces India again. Should that happen, your current remarks would appear premature and misguided.

The fundamental responsibility of every team is to pick its best available players.

Does a 29 year old Sahibzada deserve to get picked over a 30 year old Babar? You know the answer to this question.

Everyone knows the answer to this question and this is why, there is no further discussion to be had on this.

The Asia Cup has revealed the following truth whether anyone likes it or not. Babar and Rizwan walk into this team with their eyes closed, and Pakistan are not better off without them and neither were they the ones holding the team back.

If you are only scoring 127 in 20 overs after dropping Babar and Rizwan for being slow and after making a lot of noise over playing aggressive cricket, then the problem lies elsewhere.

The court jesters who thought Pakistan have ushered a new era and the T20I careers of Babar and Rizwan are over will have to eat their hat very soon because it is only a matter of time before PCB takes a U-turn here.

I don’t know. It doesn’t mean the current lot are immune from criticism. This is not a dig at Farhan only. There is a severe lack of intent issue across the board.

When will Farhan start doing justice?

how unfortunate is this that we don't even have one single player who can consistently score run in straight three matches.

This is the exact mindset which has destroyed Pakistan cricket.

These Tullas hit couple of sixes , upload videos on social media, talk too much of not getting chance, unhappy over batting position etc.,

look at , say Shubhman Gill, see his domestic cricket background, this is how you make into international cricket.

Best analysis bro... This is the biggest problem with most of our current players... no strike rotation and extra pressure to safeguard their places.

He has faced 85 balls 43 dot balls. That is more thatn 50% . I don't think anyone has a worse dot ball percentage than this in Asia cup history for 85 ball stay from an established nation. Only guy that is worse than him for 75 ball stay are more is Muhammad Kaleem with 64% of dots. and Rohan mustafa with 51% . Among Pakistan only Shoaibl Malik has similar dot ball %. 53 dot balls out of 108.
 
A wasted career.

I remember back in 2017 this guy came out to be as the next best prospect. His stoke hitting was better than everyone else, but he was never given a debut or a run with the national team.

Even in the PSL he was being ignored and got his PSL comeback at the last minute.

He could had been an established batsman for Pakistan had Imam not hogged the opener spot. His career got wasted. Even if he gets an ODI or Test debut now, he will only get a few games.

He is a very good batter. Now a domestic stalwart, but in his younger days, this guy was as good as Rohit Sharma
 
I demand justice for him. It is really unfair that opposition bowlers have not allowed him to bat quickly.

Babar was dropped for slow batting, only for his replacement to bat at a SR of 87.

Absolute comedy gold 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

They are also very statistically challenged where they can only see the numbers if it paints a bad picture against their current villains. Current heroes who have club cricketer kind of records are world beaters. Captain with 25@110 is someone to bring aggressive intent culture into the team. Others who gloat about hitting couple of sixers but average in low twenties at a poor strike rate are going to set the world on fire
