Considering his age, can he serve Pakistan on a long-term basis in the shorter format?

He’s hardly played any first class. Yet looks like a complete bowler. Reminds me of amit Mishra or even early Mushtaq. Obviously not as good but a good loopy leggie not a flat darter. Let’s see how he goes.

He's one of those journeyman 'uncle' cricketers who have alot of experience playing amateur cricket. This includes club cricket, Ramazan cricket and corporate tournaments in Karachi. Sometimes you can find alot of really good diamonds in the rough from this non-traditional pipeline which also explains why he doesn't have much FC/domestic experience.

Run up is too short. All the energy is generated in the gather and release. Needs an extra couple yards in his run up

A bit too slow. Needs to bowl his sliders as the stock delivery

he’s not too slow. He needs to be slow and put revs on the ball so it catches the air and drops/deviates in the air. He has remarkable control to land it on a length consistently around off stump. With his slow speed he’s forcing the batsman to generate power but they can only do this if they can calculate exactly where the ball is pitching. But BECAUSE he’s slow and tossing the ball above the eyeline, catching the air and dropping far shorter than they expect, he’s encouraging Mis hits. He’s a lovely little classic leggie. Doesn’t matter how old he is as long as he can take wickets.

Yes the occasional variation won’t hurt but he knows his game better than all of us.

He can do that to below par white ball batters of Pakistan (99% of the domestic circuit)

International pros will easily pick him and send him to the next postcode like Sikandar was doing. The ball is good once or twice in his over, but 5-6 times is not going to work at the top level.

You have to wait and see. I guess you’re saying he’s predictable with the slow loopy leg breaks in T20. I’m saying right now I’ve only seen him in T20s. When I see him in list A or tests I can say at that point.

The mark of a player isn’t in what they do in the odd match. It’s more how they continually outfox a batsman. Overdoing variations is a horrible trait in T20s. I would say it’s arguably been the downfall of many of our spinners. There is certainly a case for being a tad predictable to lull a batsman into a false sense of security. He’s bowling with very good bowling partners that is a massive bonus for a slow leggie.
