There was no shortage of drama and unusual incidents on Day 3 of the India vs England second Test match at Lord’s. If there was an untoward incident of bottle corks being thrown towards India opener KL Rahul in the first session, the second session started with a man, wearing an India Test jersey, walking out with the Indian cricketers as play was about to resume after lunch.

Just as the Indian cricketers stepped onto the field for the second session, cameras spotted a man wearing the Indian Test uniform with ‘Jarvo’ written on his back, walking out with them.

When security personnel asked him to leave the field, he pointed to the BCCI logo on his jersey, leaving a couple of Indian players Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj in splits.

He was finally escorted off the field and play resumed in the second session on Saturday.

New bowler from the Nursery End: Jarvo 69.

69 number Jersey should be retired for this legend :))

Love the way he showed his BCCI logo to try and convince them that he is genuine!

My question is how an earth did he even manage to get the exact Indian test team shirt with his name and number printed on it?

All shirts are available and you can emboss the name in back at home if you like!

You have to question the level of security at the ground.

This guy could have done anything.

It's a problem around the world and sooner or later there is going to be a very nasty incident.

This Jarvo guy is multi talented.. He's even participated Olympics swimming..

Never seen a white guy ever represent a subcontinent side:kohli! He appears so fit as well:D

The sad thing is he looks less out of place on a cricket pitch than Sharjeel and Azam Khan.

I agree, whilst people might find it entertaining to some extent, this can't be overlooked.

He was within reach of any player on the team, so if he had bad intentions, anything was possible.

And here he is again!

:)):)) how did he even manage to get into the ground after last times stunt. Reminds me of the guy who once stood in a picture with the man utd squad and most didn't even realize he was a random fan.

What kind of security they have? Anyone can come up to bat and field during an ongoing match in England it seems? :inti

Pitch invaders of any age color or gender are idiots.

We had a few running up to imad wasim aswell during the england series.

This seems to be a problem in the UK and people dont seem to care at all.

You see someone run on the pitch in pakistan and there would be a huge issue made out of it especially during covid times.

You have guys like this jarvo or that dumb kid who went to hug imad waseem running around on the pitch and getting away with it

Third class security but because it's England we're all supposed to find it funny.

I hate pitch invaders. Whether it's those selfish kids in football or clowns like this guy who think they're just having a laugh. All laws should be voided when it comes to dealing with them. A few get a sound thrashing and no one will find it funny ever again :symmo

Lighten up, it’s probably the most entertaining thing that’s happened in the match.

England has one of the worst Ground staff security I've ever seen and I been the multiple sports events in the USA. I was there for 2 games during the world cup in 2019 both games had ground invaders and one of the games was PAK vs AFG. There were multiple fights around the ground and one right in front of us, took security forever to come break up the fight and once the people were taken away from there seats same people came back an hour or so later and started another fight. Idk how the security did not kick them out of the stadium after the first fight.

Lighten up, it’s probably the most entertaining thing that’s happened in the match.

Nothing to find funny here.

This is a serious red flag when it comes to security. This is something that BCCI and ICC should condemn strongly.

Yes, how is this funny or charming ? Imagine this happening in Pakistan when England tours. It would make headlines and ECB/English players would throw a huge tantrum and somehow it has happened twice by the same person. He could easily injure or do something worse to a player if he wanted to. Ridiculous.

YouTuber Daniel Jarvis aka ‘Jarvo69’, who has intruded into the field of play during the last Test match at Lord’s and the ongoing Headingley game, will be banned for life on charges of security breach, English county sources said on Saturday.

Jarvo, who sports the India whites, has attracted plenty of eyeballs because of his two intrusions but the Yorkshire County Cricket Club is treating this as a case of security breach and the man in the eye of a social media storm won’t be allowed in the Leeds gallery in coming days.

“Yes, Daniel Jarvis will be banned from Headingley for life. We will also be imposing a financial penalty," a Yorkshire CCC spokesperson told PTI when asked how the county deals with this kind of transgression.

Asked what kind of measures will be taken to avoid such embarrassment which has now happened twice, the spokesperson said: “As on previous days, there will be stewards present around there to stop anyone that attempts to get on."

On Friday, just after the fall of Rohit Sharma’s wicket, ‘Jarvo 69’ was seen popping up from the gallery located on one side of the sight screen, wearing batting pads and a blue helmet with a surgical face mask on.

Someone from the crowd also threw a cricket bat as he entered the field of play and reached the pitch to take guard when the ground security personnel intercepted him. He was promptly evicted from the Headingley premises.

Earlier, he had also walked his way into the Lord’s ground on Day 4 of the second Test between the two sides and was seen setting the field for the Indian team, leaving the spectators and viewers in splits.

At Lord’s, the fan, who claims to be a popular prankster, was spotted walking casually on the ground in an Indian jersey with his name on the back. He had to be escorted out and later also revealed how Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj reacted after spotting him.

Siraj and Jadeja could barely control their laughter, before the man was escorted off by the security guards.

However, in the post Covid-19 times when the teams are living in a bio-bubble, this kind of security breach could scare the players.

While people have had a good laugh because of ‘Jarvo69’s antics but the question that many like former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan raised was what kind of reactions would there be if a similar security lapse had happened in India.

“Imagine the outrage if the same guy invade the field twice in India," Pathan had tweeted.

There has been no confirmation whether the Indian team filed any official complaint about the British man but the Yorkshire county’s decision to ban his entry into the Headingley premises is a step in the right direction.

The fact that the same guy could get on the pitch twice is quite alarming. A large man wearing pads and a helmet is not exactly Usain Bolt, yet he managed to reach the actual wicket. What are the security guards doing?

If he was Pakistani there wouldnt be much laughs on here or by the media.

There are only stewards, it's impossible to stop anyone from running onto the pitch in any sport in the UK.

Its an old cultural thing, amusment and never taken seriously. Almost all invaders do it for fun.

We had one incident where a fan came on & punched Jack Grealish, this of course goes beyond humour.

The second time him and his friend got past security wearing a face mask, a hat and a long coat. They are soooo funny, just watch their YouTube channel.

Just imagine the audacity you need to have to go all the way to the crease with pads, helmet and a bat...that too when Kohli should be walking in :)))

The great English security’s Pussyfooting around such issues actually encourage people like Jarvo to get some more hits and likes on their social media channels.

I am an Indian now, will support them in World Cup final even against England: Pitch intruder Jarvo

Daniel Jarvis intruded on the cricket pitch on two separate occasions during the India vs England Test series. Though an Englishman, Jarvo, has become a huge fan of the Indian cricket team.
Daniel Jarvis said that he would support the Indian cricket team if it was facing England in the World Cup final

Jarvo 69 intruded on the cricket pitch on two separate occasions during the India vs England Test series

Daniel Jarvis also got the opportunity to speak to a few Indian players during those two occasions

Ravichandran Ashwin even posted a tweet for Jarvo after the latter intruded on the Headingley pitch

'Jarvo 69' became a hot trend on social media as soon as Daniel Jarvis, an Englishman, intruded the Lord's Cricket Ground disguised as an Indian cricketer. While security officials escorted him out of the stadium thinking Jarvo would not repeat the mistake again. But, that wasn't the case.

In the third Test between India and England at Headingley, Jarvo intruded the pitch again, this time as an Indian batsman unlike the first instance where he had come on as a fielder. Speaking to media over the two instances of his pitch invasion, Jarvo said that he is a bigger fan of the Indian cricket team than his fellow Englishmen.

“It’s a very long story. I was there with my friends at Lord’s and we were drinking. We could see the Indian players practicing and I thought I’ll have a chat with them between the balls and they talked like normal and I was like wow what fellas. They are not like the English team who’ll ignore you. The Indian players will chat back to you and we really like that. Then, I came with the idea of coming back as an Indian player. So, the next time, I got the kit and everything,” Jarvo said speaking of his interaction with Indian players.

When asked which team he would support if the World Cup final was held between India and England, Jarvo said that he'll probably support India as their players have been truly great to him.

“If it’s England vs India, I will not lie about this. I’ll probably support India because they have been great to me. The England team was moody when I was in the Lord’s Stadium. And, I am an Indian now. So, the team means a lot to me,” he said.

Eng vs Ind: Yorkshire bans pitch invader 'Jarvo 69' for life

Daniel Jarvis' act of pitch invasion left R Ashwin in splits
Jarvo also revealed that he got the opportunity to speak to a few Indian players over his act. He even claimed that an Indian player asked him from which end he wanted to bowl.

"When I came onto the field, there was laughs; players didn’t know what to do. However, an Indian bowler, whose name I can’t recall, asked me “which end do I want to bowl from?” So, I like that chat," Jarvo said.

Having been banned by Yorkshire due to his acts, Jarvis isn't expected to intrude on cricket stadiums again. It wasn't even the first time he had done such a thing. The Englishman has even intruded into football stadiums before.

What a guy lol!

Least Deserving Indian to be on the pitch
While most deserving one is still waiting in the wings and getting amused by Jarvo.

It was funny the first time but it's getting annoying now.

Probably about time to stop giving idiots like this the attention they're craving...

His lardy self collided with Pope there. Those that find his nonsense funny wouldn't be chuckling if one of their favorite players was attacked by a similarly endearing idiot who turned out to be a total psycho.

The ground security should be questioned. This is not funny and can be dangerous

Not much extra the stewards can do to be fair. There's always going to be gaps between them around the boundary and expecting them to identify a single individual among the tens of thousands of people entering the ground isn't realistic.

I'm guessing he's getting into grounds dressed normally and probably with his face at least partly covered up and then getting changed during play.

His collision with Pope is extremely poor stuff. Ground security’s job is to make it safe for crowd as well as the players. That was naturally an uncomfortable moment for Pope. Previously one could have found or deemed it as funny but, coming in a physical contact with a player in such a way is not on.

A few Indian news channels are emboldening this idiot by interviewing him on his adventures. Maybe it will take another Monica Seles before people finally wake up. I thought cricket had left this nonsense well behind but apparently not so.

He’s crossed a line now that he’s charged into a player.

Put him in stocks and throw rotten food at him.

if it was so easy to barge in,it would be happening every match.

You quite literally step over fence then step over the screens, and you're on the outfield? I'm not sure what kind of serious difficulty you're seeing in that?

tbf ive often wondered what would happen if i ran onto the cricket field, ive been lucky enough to visit a lot of grounds around the UK and i always love to sit on the first row closest to the field, like a few posters have pointed out theres literally an advertising board and a few disinterested stewards between you and the field if you time it right it isn't actually that hard to get onto the pitch.

The question that should be asked is how did he get into the stadium in the first place someone as popular as him now you would have his picture in all the security briefings and team meetings.,

just going to throw a curveball out there aswell and ask what would have happened if he was asian or black, and how frequently would he have been allowed to recreate this tunt.

Most of the people on the gates are agency staff being paid minimum wage who likely have little interest in cricket and arrived about an hour before the gates opened. They're then also expected to get tens of thousands of people through the gates/bag searches/metal detector scans in quick time. There's no way they're going to recognise the bloke (who can quite easily also just stick a cap and a mask on) and stop him.

So when Headingley say they have banned him for life, does it mean they cant do this? What legal recourse does the ground management have in such cases?

In this day and age, shouldn't be happening.

He's just showing the loopholes in the security in England.

It was funny the first time though.

They can block him from buying tickets under his own name, but that doesn't stop anyone else buying tickets for him or just using a different name to bypass that and like I said, realistically he's not going to be recognised on entry.

They can fine people £1000 but the police/CPS aren't likely to normally see if as worthwhile to pursue prosecution. For a repeat offender doing it for attention for his own financial gain such as this they may now be more inclined to.

Agreed tough to get this guy - seems times for higher fences in England coming up soon. Only a matter of time before a Jarvo copycat hurts a player intentionally (or even by accident)

No chance of fences going up at sports stadiums in England.

https://www.skysports.com/cricket/news/12040/12398530/pitch-invader-daniel-jarvis-arrested-after-colliding-with-englands-jonny-bairstow-on-the-field-at-kia-oval

Pitch invader Daniel 'Jarvo' Jarvis was arrested on Friday after an on-field collision with England batsman Jonny Bairstow during day two of the fourth Test at The Kia Oval.

Jarvis, a self-styled YouTube prankster with 123,000 subscribers, had previously walked out with the India team at Lord's and appeared in full batting kit at Emerald Headingley.

His third appearance of the series took things a step further, though, as he ran in to bowl at Ollie Pope and crashed into an unsuspecting Bairstow at the non-striker's end.

Bairstow held his ground but was clearly surprised at the incident and there was clear agitation among the Indian team, with captain Virat Kohli seen in close conversation with the umpires after Jarvis was led off the pitch.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police read: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident at the Oval Cricket Ground on Friday, 3 September. He remains in custody at a south London police station."

An England and Wales Cricket Board spokesperson said: "Any pitch invasion is completely unacceptable. The ECB and our host venues do not tolerate any such behaviour which risks the safety of players, officials and staff. The ECB works closely with all our venues to share information and enhance their security operation."

His lardy self collided with Pope there. Those that find his nonsense funny wouldn't be chuckling if one of their favorite players was attacked by a similarly endearing idiot who turned out to be a total psycho.

It was Bairstow. If you watch other angles, Bairstow seems to have deliberately walked into Jarvo's idiot runup to stop him from bowling. Which makes a lot of sense because the last time when Jarvo walked in to bat, Bairstow wasn't amused and you could see him telling him to get the hell out of there. Johnny even kicked his idiot gloves before picking it up and flinging it after him as he was being escorted.

Well done Johnny Bairstow :trump2

The obvious solution is to cut away the cameras rather than focussing on him. Streakers happen all the time here in NZ and they are never seen on tv feed.

Im pretty sure Jarvo got on to the field for the Jacksonville Jaguars today in the NFL London game.

He is making an alternate career out of this. It is the age of Social media and there are all kinds of people on the world trying to score some their highs by disturbing others.
Initially I thought he was some harmless fun but this is getting too regular and now I am beginning to dislike this guy. Enough pls, not funny anymore

Notorious prankster 'Jarvo' appears to have struck again as video footage shows him celebrating with Real Madrid's players on the pitch after their Champions League final victory over Liverpool, sparking further security concerns over the chaos-ridden match in Paris.

In a video on YouTube, 'Jarvo' - real name Daniel Jarvis - is seen brazenly leaping over the barriers onto the Stade de France pitch, just yards behind a row of French police who were facing the Real fans.

Incredibly, he then hugs Vinicius Jr, who scored the game's only goal to hand Real a 14th European triumph, speaks to Gareth Bale and then leaps the barrier again to shake hands with Casemiro, Eder Militao and Eden Hazard.

Jarvis had seemingly got close to the pitch by posing as a member of television crew as he is seen with a 'TV' vest on, while wearing a Real Madrid shirt - with Jarvo 69 on the back - and matching shorts underneath.

The incredible footage shows Daniel Jarvis leaping the barrier on three different occasions

Jarvis then walks up to the celebrating Real players before hugging match-winner Vinicius Jr

The point-of-view footage captures the moment the pitch invader hugs Vinicius Jr

He went through the corridors of France's national stadium unchallenged before joining the pool of TV crew and cameramen behind the goal that housed the majority of Real Madrid fans.

Jarvis then strips down to his Real Madrid kit and, without being noticed despite being close to police, security officials, and stewards, walks onto the field and strolls up to the group of players before embracing Vinicius.

'We done it brother, we done it,' 'Jarvo' is heard telling the Brazilian star in the video, entitled 'INVADING CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL - *SUCCESS*.

In another bold act, which came just hours after crowd congestion and safety concerns around the Stade de France forced a 36-minute delay to kick-off and saw fans pepper-sprayed and tear-gassed by French police, Jarvis decides to try his luck again - and succeeds.

He briefly returns to the group of TV staff before stepping over the small barricade to clasp hands and hug Casemiro and a reluctant Eder Militao.

Jarvis invaded the pitch for a third time to shake hands and hug substitute Hazard before finally being accosted by security and escorted out of the venue.

In the video, Jarvis is also seen close to pundits such as Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards, as well as sports presenter Kate Abdo.

The footage raises serious concerns over the security operation put in place by the French authorities and UEFA and follows the issues before the match, which are now the subject of an investigation from European football's governing body.

It is the latest example of Jarvis disrupting a major sporting event. In September, he was arrested on suspicion of assault after entering the field of play for the third successive England Test match and sparking a confrontation with Jonny Bairstow.

Jarvis was already banned from Lord's and Headingley for being on the field of play during the second and third Tests against India.

At Headingley, Jarvis invaded the pitch wearing pads, helmet and a bat. Bairstow was again involved and appeared to be furious with Jarvis, kicking a batting glove towards him as he shouted at him before two members of security dragged him away.

Jarvis has previously disrupted other sporting events including three England Test matches

In September, he was arrested on suspicion of assault after entering the field of play and clashing with Jonny Bairstow
In the second Test at Lord's he had entered the outfield posing as an Indian fielder.

In October, Jarvis had to be escorted off the field at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff after pitch invading and lining up alongside New Zealand's rugby stars before their clash with Wales.

It was his fifth stunt of the year as it came after the three cricket invasions and a disruption to an NFL game.

Jarvo is back and this time he rushed in with and Indian outfitduring India vs Autralia World Cup match. Always here to support LOL.

Pretty funny that a career criminal was able to get a visa in time but a British BBC commentator wasn't.

absolute legend. Not surprised at the brown boomers whining about it tho

Of all the people you could idolise, a guy with 21+ criminal convictions (including prison time), for actions that include puttiting innocent people in hospital, probably isn't one of them...

Proving my point … mate, chill out. I’m not idolising him but I am open to laugh at his victimless crimes.

also couldn’t find any convictions for assault
